I do love a good name and theme though. PPV's used to feel a lot more special even if they weren't Big 4 events.

Peak PPV name era was the In Your House era when they had the Big Four and then a bunch of one-offs

I'm glad AEW is recreating that with the special-name Dynamites

Day 1 just feels so awkward as a name

"You watching Day 1 tonight?" I think the problem is it feels like a house show name or something like that. I just hope the show is good as TLC at least had some gimmick matches that might make filler matches more interesting.

I would agree with that but those shows had a theme somewhat despite the bad names. Day 1 just doesn't have much of a theme about it. I echo Chris that they could have brought back New Year's Revolution or done PPV name with New Years in it.

I realise it's probably not a big deal as the cards speak for itself but I think PPV stages and each one having their own unique flair and identity is a lost art in wrestling. It's another reason I get hyped for Rumble, Mania etc.

Like I said, I just hope the card is good and I won't even care about the name by the time the PPV comes around. I've been sort of whatever about TLC for a while, so hopefully they can put on a better PPV
