You may think of him as more of a face, but you are telling me someone like Vickie Guerrero or Randy Orton was a better heel than him?

Orton, I don't consider to be that great at all, and found his heel work very bland with weak promo work and millions of chinlocks. But I will consider Vickie to be one of the greatest of the modern-day villians, merely on the fact, that she took a spot and ran with with it, we watched her awkward start, and seen her become one of the biggest heels this side of kayfabe days. History will be very kind to Vickie Guerrero.

I still never consider Savage to be heelish at all, he was too damn entertaining to be universally booed. He was like Billy Graham in that way, the look, the mannerisms, the promo work are too fan friendly to be effective heel. Did he do some heelish things? Yeah, but let's be honest here, was anyone wanting Warrior to retire him? Did anyone want Hogan to beat him at Mania 5?

Trips not being number one was just sad (Unless WCW people count then he'd be number 2). I mean, the guy only ran heel for a couple years, but damn. Nobody could get a crowd to boo the way he did.

I'm actually shocked that Raven was on the list, seeing how overlooked and underrated he was in both his WWE stints.

Thanks for your time in making this thread OP, but my *sources* tell me WWE are full of shit, and Jake Snake/Rick Rude are #1 & #2 respectively.

Rick Rude was exposed to be mediocre outside the WWF bubble, when he went to WCW and ECW. He had like 3 good years in his entire career and without the inner city sweathogs promo, he had nothing. Sad, but trufax.

I don't think it was an accident that Rude was paired with Bobby the Brain. Managers for heels was huge back then, but a lot of those heels could murder a promo something crazy. I'm not sure I really agree with the assessment that Rude was great on the mic. There were worse, but he sorta had that monotonous yell to what he said. It had this very undramatic meter to it too.

Lex Luger would not be cutting promos on that level. But he was no CM Punk in his heyday in the WWF either. Decent, but having a manager with a gift for emoting is really what he needed. He lacked that little last bit to get over emotionally through promos.

Orton should be higher IMO.

I'm not going to comment on the Legends because I wasn't watching back then. Vinnie Mac is the #1 GOAT Villain though.

Looked at this list 10x now and still keep expecting to see Stephanie McMahon somewhere on there. The billion dollar princess, half alliance owner, HHHs wife during the McMahon Helmsley regime. She was a huge villain for years in the attitude era and invasion

The list seems like one of the better ones to me, just never going to agree on the order.

Savage as a face was very over, but he was more effective as a heel I think.
