WWE apparently disappointed with NXT 2.0 peformance

So: They go through the effort to change NXT to its developmental roots. Okay, understandable since you need a place to develop future talents rather than only have independent darlings dominate. So, how are you going to do this?

Perhaps gradually, introduce new talent over the course of several months and let them develop on their own, keeping some of the established main event to hold the guard, perhaps mentor them, and when they are ready pass the torch? That way you still respect the audience who you established but leave room to bring in new people?

Or, you do a radical rebrand, pull a WCW New Blood where the new stars who represent this new era of NXT you want to get over are heels against the Established names, therefore, by design, having the fans rally behind the older stars and the old NXT they love.

Then, while it is alright to have the established names put over the new guys, you have things like Bron Breakker (Who name aside and the questionable booking on his debut is still good as heck) kicking the old NXT logo, almost burying the brand people loved.

Then, you have people in charge who's idea of what is good in wrestling is from a bygone era that not all work in today's wrestling and are introducing some of the main roster bad habits (such as pointless rebrands) that have annoyed fans for years onto your show.


Oh, also if they wanted to do rainbow colours: Should have added more black in it or a dark colour to contrast. See original Dynamite, and even the WWE 2k22 cover (which, jury is out on how the game will be, looks sick).

To be somewhat serious, I think they really did have some delusion it would be fine ratings-wise lol idk if this source is reliable or not but I can buy it I HOPE they expected this and don't care too much bc its developmental now tho

This pretty much. I don't expect anything much to change if at all, nor do I think they should. Stick to your guns and the value should hopefully come when they hit the main roster.

I said it when they decided to go in this direction…it’s not a sprint; it’s a marathon. There was always going to be growing pains when you blow something up and start fresh.

I still think the best thing would be if they moved back to the network and could focus on being developmental fully instead of trying to bring in a rating.

Dunno how USA feels tho and I think WWE still has some decent leverage with the Raw numbers

Literally I could’ve predicted this entire scenario when they changed NXT lol. I literally knew that it wouldn’t do well and then they’d be so very confused.
