While RVD maybe debatable, Jeff wasn't at main event(imo). I'd say he was in his main event push, but not a main eventer.

Seeing how taking Jeff out of the picture made them change the entire plan for MITB, and an aftermath feud with Chris Jericho and a title reign earlier than what actually happened, yes, he was main event...oh yeah, he had also main evented RR and NWO before that and pinned HHH the event after that.


Edge was suspended in 2007, so he was a main eventer. Orton was suspended in 2006, right after his WM main event match.

I agree that despite Jeff not being a world champion, he was a main eventer. The simple fact is they suspended one of their most popular stars at the biggest time of the year for the WWE.

But I do have one question about your post. When was Edge suspended in 2007? I never heard anything about this. If I'm not mistaken he was one of the guys mentioned in that Sports Illustrated article, but I don't recall him being suspended for it. He wasn't one of the 10 guys suspended in 2007 that I recall, and even if he was it wouldn't have mattered since he was out with injury anyways. But if there was a time in 2007 that he was suspended, I would like to know when it was.

His suspension was more of a technicality, as when he was suspended, he was out with injury.
