Road to No Way Out 2017

Event Announcement
The Friday Night Smackdown exclusive No Way Out pay per view event was confirmed for the 12th of February 2017, and it was revealed that it would take place in Phoenix Arizona at the Talking Sticks Resort Arena.​

Paul Heyman aka the General Manager of Friday Night Smackdown took to the ring to announce a huge No Way Out main event. It concerned the top men's prize on offer from the blue brand, the WWE Championship currently around the waist of the "Phenomenal" AJ Styles(c).

The very man and more importantally champion fresh off successfully retaining the gold against John Cena at the Royal Rumble. Heyman revealed that Styles would have to defend the gold at No Way Out in a five way elimination match. The quartet of challengers were announced to be Daniel Bryan, Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler and Randy Orton.​

ROAD TO BAD BLOOD 2017


EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT
The Monday Night RAW exclusive Bad Blood ppv event. Was announced for the 30th of April 2017, and it would take place at the SAP Center. Which is located in San Jose California.​

DOUBLE CHAMPIONSHIP MAIN EVENT
MNR General Manager Mick Foley took to the ring on the Night After Mania episode of his show. To announce a huge main event for the MNR exclusive Bad Blood ppv. A tag team match for both the WWE Universal and WWE United States Championships. Featuring the new crowned champions in Chris Jericho (Universal) and Seth Rollins (US). And the former champions Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns.​

GOOD FRIENDS, BETTER ENEMIES
Despite the odds being stacked against the current reigning and defending WWE RAW Women’s Champion Bayley©. At WrestleMania 33 in a fatal four-way match, meaning she had a one in four chance of retaining the gold. She aka Bayley would do exactly that by pinning Charlotte Flair to do so. Someone who had issue with this was the “Legit Boss” Sasha Banks. Who stated that she deserved another shot, since she didn’t get pinned. Bayley wanting to be a fighting champion agreed to the match and told Banks she would love to kick her ass. ​

TRIPLE THREAT FOR A SHOT AT THE US
The trio of Braun Strowman, Sami Zayn and Samoa Joe were each upset at the fact they failed at claiming gold at Mania. So MNR GM Mick Foley invited all of them to meet him in his office. Where he revealed that the three men would get a second chance at becoming champion at Bad Blood, in a triple threat N1C match. ​

FOUR WAY WOMEN’S NUMBER ONE CONTENDER ACTION
Another match was announced for the Bad Blood event to crown a Number One Contender to some championship gold. This time around a fatal four-way women’s division match where the winner would earn a shot at the RAW Women’s Championship. MNR GM Mick Foley revealed that Carmella, Naomi, Natalya Neidhart and Nikki Bella would take part in the match.​

TOO EXTREME OR TOO SWEET
At WrestleMania 33, the legendary duo of Matt and Jeff Hardy aka the Hardy Boyz. Made their returns to the land of entertainment by taking part in the four-way ladder match. For the WWE RAW Tag Team Championship, not only did they take part in it. They ended up claiming championship gold in their return match by way of Jeff Hardy climbing a ladder and unhooking the titles. The now former champions, those being Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows aka the Good Brothers. Took to the ring on an episode of Monday Night RAW and confronted the champions. With Anderson ending the segment by telling the Hardy Boyz that they would see them at Bad Blood. ​

WELCOME TO MONDAY NIGHT RAW
The last match announced for the Bad Blood pay per view event. Concerned the huge influx of male WWE Superstars who now call Monday Night RAW their home as a result of the draft. MNR General Manager Mick Foley revealed that the winner of the match, would a future shot at any championship they wanted. ​

WWE BAD BLOOD 2017

The opening contest of Bad Blood 2017 was the Welcome to Monday Night RAW, battle royal. Where the last man inside the square circle, would earn themselves a shot at the title of their choosing. Apollo Crews, Baron Corbin, Chad Gable, Dean Ambrose, Erick Rowan, John Cena, Luke Harper and The Miz all took part in it. The match came down to the quartet of Chad Gable, Dean Ambrose, John Cena & Luke Harper. It came down to the duo of Ambrose and Cena who ended up eliminating each other at the exact same time.

In the second match the Hardy Boyz© attempted to defend the WWE RAW Tag Team Championship. Against the former champions, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows the Good Brothers. Matt Hardy tagged in Jeff and then hit the Twist of Fate on Gallows. From here Jeff knocked Anderson off the apron and then climbed to the top rope and hit the Swanton Bomb for the pin

Next up the quartet of Carmella, Naomi, Natalya Neidhart and Nikki Bella. In a fatal four way to crown the next woman in line for a shot at the WWE RAW Women’s Championship. It culminated with Neidhart trapping Bella in the Sharp Shooter with the latter tapping out.

Then another Number One Contender match took place, this time around for a future shot at the WWE United States Championship. The trio of Braun Strowman, Sami Zayn and Samoa Joe faced up. With the “Samoan Submission Machine” getting the win with the Muscle Buster on Zayn.

After that the penultimate match saw the duo of forever frenemies. Bayley© and Sasha Banks clash over the WWE RAW Women’s Championship. The defending champion aka Bayley got the win with the Hugger City Driver.

Finally, the show closed out with a huge tag team match for not one but two pieces of championship gold. Both the WWE Universal and WWE United States Championships were on the line. As enemies turned tag team partners Chris Jericho (Universal) and Seth Rollins (US) teamed up to face the duo of former champions Kevin Owens & Roman Reigns. When it was all said and done, the main event ended in a double count out. With Jericho and Owens brawling while the pair of Rollins and Reigns did the same. Bad Blood went off the air with the two brawls being broken up by refs.

ROAD TO WWE BACKLASH 2017

At WrestleMania 33 the debuting “King of Strong Style” Shinsuke Nakamura. Defeated the “Phenomenal” AJ Styles© to become the first Japanese born WWE Champion in history. A rematch between the two men, was confirmed by FNS GM Shane McMahon. The rematch would serve as the main event of the Backlash pay per view event.

NUMBER ONE CONTENDER – WWE CHAMPIONSHIP
RANDY ORTON(H) VS DOLPH ZIGGLER
The “Viper” Randy Orton competed in a fatal four-way match at WrestleMania 33. To determine the next Number One Contender to the WWE Championship. He would end up winning the match after he pinned Dolph Ziggler with the RKO. In the weeks following Mania, a vengeful Ziggler set his sights on Orton as a result. But Orton knew exactly what he wanted and laid down a match for the N1C at Backlash.


INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Bryan Danielson© aka the reigning and defending WWE Intercontinental Champion. Didn’t have a clear challenger for his newly won prize, as a result of the former champion The Miz being drafter to MNR. Danielson went to FNS GM Shane McMahon and suggested an open challenge for the gold at Backlash. McMahon ended up agreeing to it after he made sure Danielson really wanted it.

SIX MAN TAG TEAM MATCH
NEW DAY VS UNITED WORLD OF PAIN
The trio of Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods collectively known as the New Day were drafted to the blue brand as a result of the draft. Three other new arrivals to Friday Night Smackdown had an issue with them the get go. That being the trio of heels in the forms of Jinder Mahal, Sheamus and the "Bulgarian Brute" Rusev all of which had issues with the New Day.


SMACKDOWN WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP – LYNCH LAST CHANCE

After Becky Lynch had failed to capture the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 33. She just couldn’t let it end like that and became possessed with winning the title. She became even more fixated on her goal after the current champion aka Alexa Bliss© repeatedly mocked her. Lynch asked for another shot at the title which Bliss denied, then said she could have her shot on one condition. That condition being that when she lost again this would be her final shot at the title, Lynch agreed. ​

Friday Night Smackdown GM Shane McMahon has added a new match to the card of the WWE Backlash 2017 ppv event. A tag team match for the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship, between the reigning champions Breezango(c) and the team of Heath Slater & Rhyno.​

Backlash 2017 began with a six-man tag team match, which saw the New Day. Compete with the trio of Jinder Mahal, Rusev and Sheamus who had Lana in their corner. Big E and Kofi Kingston hit the Midnight Hour on Rusev. With Kingston then pinning him for the win.

Next Breezango© put the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship up for grabs. Against the tag team that were the inaugural set of champions in Heath Slater & Rhyno. Fandango pinned Slater with a Falcon Arrow. Post-Match, Rhyno shockingly turned his back on Slater and laid him out with the Gore.

In the third match, Bryan Danielson© aka the WWE Intercontinental Champion made his way to the ring. For the Open Challenge for gold that he set up. Nevile ended up being the man who answered the challenge, although he wouldn’t be successful. As the defending champion was able to win by way of submission thanks to the Danielson Lock aka Yes Lock.

After that the Number One Contender to the WWE Champion, the “Viper” Randy Orton. Found himself having to contend with the “Show Off’ Dolph Ziggler. Despite some underhandedness from the latter, he fell victim to an RKO.

Then Becky Lynch was successful in her final attempt to become Smackdown Women’s Champion. After she trapped the champion Alexa Bliss© in the Dis-Arm-Her.

Finally, a WrestleMania 33 rematch for the WWE Championship served as the main event. Albeit with the roles of both champion and challenger reversed. As Shinsuke Nakamura© defended the gold against the former champion AJ Styles. It ended in a time limit draw, meaning that Nakamura retained by default.
