The opening match for the 22nd of April episode of Monday Night RAW was a triple threat Mr MITB qualifier featuring Cedric Alexander, Rey Mysterio and The Miz. Two thirds of the superstars were involved in the number one contender’s ladder match last week so as GM Kurt Angle said they would take part in a MITB qualifier as a result of losing the ladder match. The third man aka Alexander was here because of his interactions with the Miz last week and Angle wanted the matter put to bed.
In the end Mysterio took advantage of Alexander & Miz brawling and drop kicked both men into the ropes and then hit a Double 619 and pinned the Miz.
Winner: Rey Mysterio

Backstage the Iconics were talking over their plans since they failed to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships and agreed that they should win the Mrs Mitb Ladder Match and become co Mrs Mitb. Naomi walked up and said that was a horrible idea and would do anything to stop that from becoming a reality.

Hawkins then went on to say that they wanted to issue an open challenge for their titles right here right now.

The debuting Ivar Hanson & Erick Rowe made their way out to the ring with a woman that commentary called Freyja

The debuting Ivar Hanson & Erick Rowe collectively known as the Modern Day Vikings were accompanied by a rebranded Sarah Logan now known as Freyja, who would dominate the defending champions. However the duo of Hawkins and Ryder would hold their own for a short period of the match, well that was until Ryder fell victim to a Two Man Powerbomb that commentary called Victory or Valhalla for the pin.

The second of two triple threat Mr. Mitb qualifiers took place as we came back from the commercial break, this time Samoa Joe faced off with both Cesaro and Bobby Lashley. The conclusion of the match came about when Joe caught Lashley in a sleeper hold only for Cesaro to charge in and floor both men when he hit a Running European Uppercut on Lashley. Cesaro attempted a pin on Lashley as Joe rolled to the side and then broke up the pin, from here and dragged Cesaro over and locked in the Coquina Clutch which saw Cesaro pass out.

Backstage a split screen showed Sami Zayn and Ricochet preparing for their match to crown a new WWE Intercontinental Championship.

As soon as the bell rang both men shook hands as a sign of mutual respect and then proceeded to tear the house down for about twenty minutes. The “One and Only” and the “InZayn One” went back and forth trading near falls and giving it their all to become the new WWE Intercontinental Champion. In the final minutes of the match Zayn attempted a Blue Thunder Bomb only for Ricochet to amazingly turn it into a hurricanrana which floored Zayn, then Ricochet climbed up to the rope and hit the 630 Splash for the pin.

The main event of the evening was a savagely brutal falls count anywhere women's match for the WWE RAW Women’s Championship currently held by Becky Lynch(c) attempting to defend against Ruby Riot. The two women beat several shades of sh*t out of each other with every conceivable weapon you could find under and around a wrestling ring, they brawled in the ring, at ringside, up the ramp and through the backstage area and then out onto the stage. From here the defending champion aka Lynch got the better of her opponent and sent herself and Riot flying off the stage through tables with the Luck of the Irish aka the Manhandle Slam.

Backstage Daniel Bryan was yelling at Erick Rowan for not being there last week and when the big man tried to explain that he was facing two on one odds, Bryan snapped and attacked him and beat him down and then left.

Backstage SD GM Shane McMahon announced that since Owens interfered in the WWE Championship match last week the rematch between Kingston & Bryan would take place at Money in the Bank. However if Owens wants to be included so badly then all he has to do is beat both Daniel Bryan and Kofi Kingston that latter in a non-title situation in back to back matches next week and then he will be added to the ppv match.

It was quite clear from the get go that Bryan and Owens weren’t on the same page given what happened last week. Eventually Bryan attacked Kingston at ringside and the two men brawled to the back, which left Owens and Reigns in the ring. From here Owens attempted a Pop-Up Powerbomb on Reigns who turned it into a Superman Punch and then followed it up with the Spear for the pin.

The intrigue going into this match to crown the first ever WWE Jr Heavyweight Champion and that we wouldn’t know who was participating until the match was under way.
It was revealed that RAW and Smackdown would have three entrants each, RAW was represented by Cedric Alexander, Drake Maverick and Sami Zayn. While SD had Apollo Crews, Chad Gable and Mustafa Ali.
As soon as the bell rang chaos ensued with Maverick, Alexander, Ali and Gable all being thrown out of the ring leaving Zayn and Crews in the ring to duke it out.
Chad Gable eliminated Cedric Alexander by forcing him to submit to the Gable Lock.
Then Ali eliminated Maverick thanks to the 054 Splash.
Zayn took care of both Ali and Crews via a Blue Thunder Bomb and a Helluva Kick respectively.
Gable got out of the way of an attempted Helluva Kick from Zayn and rolled him up with a handful of tights to get the win.

Great showcase for both the defending champions Boss & Hug Co aka Bayley and Sasha Banks(c) and the challengers Natalya Neidhart and Beth Phoenix aka the Divas of Doom.
The match went for about fifteen minutes and the conclusion saw Phoenix attempt a Glam Slam off the top rope on Bayley. Only for the latter to reverse it into a pinning situation off the top rope for the three count.

The first match of the event was the Mrs. Money in the Bank Ladder Match featuring Lacey Evans, Naomi, Ruby Riot and Tamina Snuka from Monday Night RAW and the quartet of Ember Moon, Kairi Sane, Liv Morgan and Mickie James from Friday Night Smackdown.
The conclusion of the match saw Morgan sacrifice her chance at winning the match when she jumped off one ladder and Speared Riot off of another one onto James, Evans, Naomi and Snuka below in the ring. So it came down to Ember Moon and Kairi Sane with the latter knocking the former off of a third ladder and then unhooking the briefcase.

Next Asuka defended the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship against the former champion the self proclaimed “Queen of WWE” Charlotte Flair in a singles match.
The defending champion fought out of a Figure Eight from the challenger and then waited until Flair returned to her feet then spit green mist into her face and spun her around to lock in the Lock of Asuka and Flair tapped out.

After that the WWE Championship was on the line in a triple threat match between the defending champion Kofi Kingston(c) and the two challengers Daniel Bryan and Kevin Owens. Bryan was part of this match as he was the former champion and the “Prize Fighter” was here because he beat Bryan and Kingston the latter in a non-title situation in back to back matches on the same episode of SD.
Bryan attempted and successfully laid Owens out with Busaiku Knee Strike but at the exact same time he hit the move Kingston hit his Trouble in Paradise on Bryan and then pinned him.

The fourth match of the event saw the WWE RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch(c) attempt to defend her title against Alexa Bliss. Despite a good showing from the challenger, Bliss would be forced to submit to the Dis-Arm-Her.

After that the penultimate WWE Universal Championship match between Seth Rollins(c) and AJ Styles took place. Two of the best in the game currently went back and forth for just shy of half an hour and tore the house down. The defending champion was able to kick out of a top rope version of the Styles Clash and fight out of the Calf Crusher which led into the final minutes of the match. Which saw Styles exit the ring onto the apron and then launch himself back into the ring with an attempted Phenomenal Forearm, only to be met with a Superkick from Rollins who followed this up by catching a falling Styles and hitting a Pedigree. From here Rollins dragged Styles to one of the corners and then climbed up and then hit a Phoenix Splash for the pin.

Roman Reigns V Rey Mysterio V Samoa Joe
The main event was the men’s Money in the Bank Ladder match with a total of eight superstars four from Monday Night RAW and four from Friday Night Smackdown. The duo of Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman were beaten down by the other six men and buried under a sea of ladders. Almas brawled with McIntyre, Murphy with Balor and finally Samoa Joe(c) with Rey Mysterio. Eventually both Strowman & Reigns sent the pile of ladders flying with the former shouting BRAUN and Reigns doing his OOOH AAAH. Strowman pulled both Joe and Mysterio out of the ring while Reigns entered it and laid waste to Murphy and Balor with a Double Spear and even hit a Superman Punch on Almas to knock him off of a ladder.
At ringside Joe teamed up with Mysterio and threw Strowman over the announce table and then with the help of Balor pushed the table onto the “Monster Among Men”. Eventually, Reigns, Joe, Mysterio, Balor, McIntyre, Murphy and Almas made it back into the ring, where a series of finishers left only Balor and Joe standing and they climbed up opposite sides of the same ladder and started to brawl. Eventually Balor got the better of Joe and threw him off the ladder and unhooked the briefcase.

WWE Chairman Stephanie McMahon has announced that Smackdown will be changing the night it airs from Friday to Tuesday.

McMahon also announced that she disagreed with how her brother SD GM Shane McMahon handled the booking of the show recently. Therefore she has fired her brother from his position and a new GM will be revealed on the next episode of Smackdown.​
