- The latest issue of Continental magazine has a feature article on WWE being run by a few women, particularly Donna Goldsmith, chief operating officer; Michelle Wilson, executive vice president of marketing; and Stephanie McMahon, executive vice president of creative development and operation. According to the article, they are "the day-to-day drivers behind this $500 million-plus marketing engine" that is World Wrestling Entertainment.

-It's also worth nothing that WWE wants everyone to know that what they do is not "wrestling," but rather, "entertainment" — according to the article. Secondly, talent are to be referred to as "Superstars" and "Divas," not wrestlers.

:smh

Well wrestlers or should i say superstars describe other superstars as performers so im pretty sure they already admitted it or got little kids confused.

Well, considering it has been for quite some time "Sports Entertainment"...

WWE quit trying to pass off their sport as an actual sport years ago without actually addressing it.

^Jeff Jarret said the same in the Monday Live event that they are planning to make TNA the number one in "SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT".

The other broads do their job very well, Steph is one of the main reasons WWE sucks and is stagnant. She really has no other purpose in life than to drive what her father built into the ground, Shane left because he has other discernible talents outside being Vince's son. Steph sucks ass. I hope nothing bad on her personally, just something that would keep her from being any part of WWE besides an heir.

Thats just it, it doesn't matter if WWE calls it Sports Entertainment or not, because Wrestling is entertainment. TNA can say they are not an Entertainment company all they want, but wrestling is entertainment. Thats why we watch because it Entertains us. So ultimately why get so hung up on what its called? Its all the same thing.

I think it's funny that several months ago when I went on a rant during that one thread where someone posted a WWE corporate memo or whatever where they never once mentioned that they were a wrestling company, all the usual suspects who defend everything WWE does came into the thread and vehemently defended WWE saying "Of course they wouldn't admit they were a wrestling company, it's good for business. But we all still know it's wrestling"

And now that this article shows up those very same people are acting as if WWE abandoning it's wrestling roots is old news and we should of known this all along. It's hilarious.

hey, if this will sell them an extra copy of this magazine to who ever idiot that would buy it; then they will keep on adding those kind of lame/old/generic information onto their magazine every fuckin' time!

The terms "Sports Entertainment" & "Superstars" have been a predominant part of WWE's branding since the 80's. I get sick of reading reports about this shit. It's nothing new.

It's been called entertainment for ages so they don't have to pay the sports levy or something in each town they go to. Athletic Commission I think.
