The last man standing in the match would earn themselves a shot at either the WWE or World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XL.

The first episode of Friday Night Smackdown saw Dragon Lee defeat Carmelo Hayes. In the final of the tournament to crown the next N1C to the WWE USC. Lee got the win after dodging an attempted First 48 and turning it into a pinfall for the victory.

The show opened with the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble match. Where the winner would earn herself at either the Women’s World or WWE Women’s Championship. On either night of the WrestleMania XL premium live event. While the majority of women involved were under contract, it also had a few surprises. Including the current TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace and a returning Naomi. It came down to Bayley and Liv Morgan with the former getting the better of the latter.
Next the WWE United States Championship match took place. As the current reigning and defending champion Logan Paul(c) faced Dragon Lee. It culminated with Paul grabbing his opponent’s mask and pulling it off and rolling him up while Lee covered his face.
In the fourth match off the night the WWE Universal Championship was up for grabs in a fatal four way match. It included the current champion, the “Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns(c) and the three challengers, AJ Styles, LA Knight and Randy Orton. While the other members of the Bloodline aka Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa neutralized Styles and Knight. Reigns fought out of an attempted RKO and proceeded to run the ropes and hit a Spear for the pin.
Finally the show closed out with the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble match. Where the winner would earn himself a shot at either the WWE Universal or World Heavyweight Championship. On either night of the WWE WrestleMania XL premium live event. When it was all said and done and the dust had settled, Cody Rhodes eliminated Cm Punk to win.

As then champion the “Mad Dragon” Ilja Dragunov(c) defended against the winner of the 2023 Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge, Trick Williams.
When it was all said and done we had a new champion in the form of Williams. The following episode saw Williams successfully defeat Dragunov in the rematch, after the match Carmelo Hayes attacked Williams.
As a result of this NXT GM Ava announced a Championship versus Career match as the main event of NXT Vengeance Day.
