Shinsuke came to the ring and disagreed and told Theory to put the championship on the line at Backlash. Theory told Shinsuke he’s not handing out a championship shot. Shinsuke told Theory he knows he would beat him for the championship. Pearce came out and said since Shinsuke beat former champion McIntyre last week, Shinsuke gets a World Heavyweight Championship opportunity at Backlash.]

DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) def. (Chad Gable and Otis) [Later backstage, Gable was blaming Otis for the loss again and pointing his fingers in his chest when Hit Row showed up. Hit Row told Otis not to let Gable treat him like that. Gable told Hit Row to mind their business. Hit Row challenged Gable to a match. Gable said it will be Gable and Otis versus Hit Row next week.]

Alexa Bliss def. Candice LeRae [Earlier in the night, Alexa and Rhea had words about Alexa coming back for her WWE Raw Women’s Championship.]

Pearce says there will be two tag team matches tonight with the winners facing off to determine who faces Hit Row at Backlash for the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship. Pearce booked The Street Profits versus The Brawling Brutes and Pretty Deadly versus The O.C.]

[Charlotte came to the ring and called out Raquel. Raquel came to the ring. Charlotte told Raquel she’s getting her rematch at Backlash and taking back her WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship. Raquel told Charlotte she fought to become world champion and at Backlash she’ll beat Charlotte again to keep her championship.]

Dexter Lumis def. Madcap Moss [During the match, Wyatt came to the ring and watched the match from his rocking chair. Uncle Howdy stood beside him watching as well. Dexter Lumis starred back at Wyatt and Howdy.]

Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince and Kit Wilson) def. The O.C. (Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows) (w/AJ Styles) [During the match, Legado Del Fantasma came to the ring and cost The O.C. the match. Post-match, The O.C. and Legado Del Fantasma got into a brawl.]

[Edge came to the ring and addressed Gunther saying no one on Smackdown could beat him for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Edge talks about his history with the WWE Intercontinental Championship and calls Gunther to the ring. Imperium come to the ring. [Backstage, Chelsea Green and Piper Niven approached Shayna Bazsler and Ronda Rousey and told them after the beat Damage CTRL at Backlash to keep their tag team championship, they want the next shot at the championship. Damage CTRL approached the teams and told they were getting their championship back at Backlash and if Chelsea and Piper want to they’ll see them in the ring next week. Damage CTRL walk off as Rousey, Baszler, Green and Niven look on.]

Seth Rollins def. Dominik Mysterio via DQ [During the match, The Judgment Day jumped Rollins. DIY ran to the ring, but decided not to enter the fray allowing The Judgment Day to beatdown Rollins. The New Day would then run down to the ring for the save before checking on Rollins.]

Austin Theory © def. Ricochet in a non-title match [Post-match, Shinsuke snuck in the ring behind Theory. Theory turned around and backed out of the ring as Shinsuke was looking for a fight.]

[Rick Boogs interviewed backstage and talked about the win streak he’s been on since coming back from injury. He says he has his eyes on the WWE Intercontinental Championship now.]

Nikki Cross def. Naomi [During the match, Wyatt came to the ring and watched the match from his rocking chair. Uncle Howdy stood beside him watching as well. Post-match, Nikki Cross starred back at Wyatt and Howdy.]

[Backstage, Bianca approached Raquel and congratulated her on becoming WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion and told her after she’s done with Charlotte, she’ll be coming for the championship next.]

LA Knight def. Dolph Ziggler [Post-match, Kross and Scarlett came to the ring as Kross told Knight he was next.]

Gunther © (w/Imperium) def. Elias in a non-title match [Before the match, Gunther interviewed backstage and said his match with Elias is what will happen to Edge at Backstage. Post-match, Gunther locked Elias in the sleeper hold until he passed out. Edge ran to the ring for the save as Imperium left the ring.]

[We go backstage to see Cody had been jumped by The Bloodline as they ran off when Owens and Sami rushed in for the save. Backstage crew came and checked on Cody.]

[We see highlights of last week where Broson Reed smashed Strowman through a car windshield. We’re told Strowman isn’t here tonight. Backstage tries to get an interview with Bronson, but he walks off.]

Damage CTRL (IYO Sky and Dakota Kai) (w/Bayley) def. Chelsea Green and Piper Niven [Post-match, Shayna and Rousey attacked IYO and Dakota from behind. Bayley entered the fray and the tag champs backed off.]

[McIntyre interviews backstage and says all he’s been thinking about is him losing the World Heavyweight Championship. He says he may be in the back of the line now, but he's coming back to the front and will be world champion again.]

Indus Sher (Sanga and Veer Mahan) (w/Jinder Mahal and Shanky) def. Alpha Academy (Chad Gable and Otis) [Post-match, Gable was all in Otis’ face yelling and pointing at him before demanding he follow him out of the ring. Later in the night, Maxxine Dupri approached Otis backstage and told him not to take that from Gable. Mace and Mansoor showed up and asked Maxxine why she was talking to Otis as they mocked him. Gable showed up and joined in on Otis. Otis told Maximum Male Models he’ll face them in the ring next week, with or without Gable. Otis walks off.]

Odyssey Jones def. JD McDonagh

[Riddle comes to the ring and calls Lesnar out and tells him to meet him face to face instead of the sneak attacks from behind. Moments later, Lesnar’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring, but Riddle doesn’t wait and takes the fight to Lesnar on the ramp. The two brawl and Riddle holds his own for a while, but gets F5’d on the stage.]

Seth Rollins and The New Day def. The Judgment Day (Damien Priest and Dominik Mysterio) (w/Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley) [DIY were on commentary. Post-match, Balor laid out Rollins. The Judgment Day retreated as The New Day and Alexa chased them to the ropes.]

[Backstage, The Street Profits interviewed saying next week on Smackdown they’ll be bringing home the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship after they beat Hit Row.]

Rick Boogs def. Grayson Waller

[Lashley interviewed backstage and told the Smackdown locker room that he’s top dog on Smackdown now and that he’s coming for the WWE Championship.]

AJ Styles (w/The O.C.) def. Santos Escobar (w/Legado Del Fantasma) via DQ [Legado Del Fantasma attacked AJ during the match. Cruz, Joaquin and Zelina went at it with Karl, Luke and Michin, while Santos hit his finisher on AJ in the middle of the ring.]

[Backstage, Edge cut a promo telling Gunther to bring his A-game because he’s bringing his and he will leave Backlash the new WWE Intercontinental Champion.]

[LA Knight came to the ring and called out Kross. Kross and Scarlett came to the ring. Knight and Kross mouthed off back and forth to each other and Knight wanted a fight, but Kross didn’t and backed down. Kross looked as if he was leaving the ring and turned and attacked Knight before laying him out with his finisher. Kross and Scarlett stood tall over Knight.]

Cody Rhodes vs. Jey Uso (w/Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa and Paul Heyman) ends in a no contest [The Bloodline kept interfering in the match which brought out Owens and Sami and a big brawl broke out. The Bloodline stood tall as they laid Rhodes, Owens and Sami out.]

The Judgment Day (Damien Priest and Dominik Mysterio) (w/Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley) def. DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) in a Tag Team match for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship [During the match, Rhea distracted the ref while Dominik used the championship to lay Gargano out for the win.]

Braun Strowman def. Seth Rollins in a World Heavyweight Championship number one contender match [During the match, Finn Balor came to the ring and distracted Rollins.]

Cody comes to the ring and says if The Bloodline wants a shot at the WWE Championship, it’s on. Cody asks who he’ll be facing. Jey steps up in Cody’s face and says him.]

Karrion Kross (w/Scarlett) def. Mustafa Ali [Post-match, Knight entered the ring and laid out Kross. Knight grabbed a microphone and told Kross it was Kross versus him at Night of Champions. Knight threw the mic down.]

[We go backstage and see The O.C. brawling with Legado Del Fantasma. Backstage crew break them up. Pearce says next week it will be AJ Styles versus Santos Escobar, one-on-one with The O.C. and Legado Del Fantasma banned from ringside.]

[Imperium comes to the ring. Giovanni grabs a mic for Gunther. Gunther says he beat Edge’s ass at Backlash and is still WWE Intercontinental Champion. Gunther says there is no competition on the Smackdown roster. Rey Mysterio’s music hits and out he comes to the ring. Hit Row tells Gable to bring his laughing to the ring. Gable says he and Otis will. Otis looked like he didn’t want to be in the match and told Gable he didn’t want to be a part of the match. Gable says Otis will be in the match or he’s out of Alpha Academy. Post-match, Gable got all in Otis’ face, yelling and pointing as Otis was getting heated. Maxxine ran to the ring and got between them and mouthed at Gable. Gable waved his arms at Maxxine and Otis and left the ring.]

[Backstage, MVP and Omos approach Odyssey Jones with a proposition to join his group. Jones says he’s not really interested. MVP hands him his card and says he’d take his career to the top and walks off with Omos and Odyssey looks on.]
