On the January 28th episode of Monday Night RAW the new Universal Champion. And the newest Paul Heyman Guy aka Finn Balor. Took to the ring with his manager alongside him to address his title win. By stating that since the former champion aka Brock Lesnar ran away like a little bitch. He (Balor) didn’t have an obvious contender for the gold, something he didn’t care about.

Two of his fellow superstars who failed in their respective attempt to win the 2019 edition of the men’s Royal Rumble match. In the forms of Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns made their way out to the ring. To challenge Balor for a title shot at Elimination Chamber but Balor was quick to refuse both men. Which resulted in MNR General Manager Kurt Angle making a Number One Contender match for later in the show.

However, Balor involved himself into proceedings resulting in the match being thrown out by the ref. Angle reappeared and announced a triple threat title match for the EC ppv.

Enter the Chamber for a Shot at Mania
MNR General Manager Kurt Angle announced that two of the titular matches would take place at the Elimination Chamber ppv. The first to crown a number one contender to the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 35. Braun Strowman beat Matt Hardy, Dolph Ziggler beat Apollo Crews. Kevin Owens beat Heath Slater, Seth Rollins beat Sami Zayn and Drew McIntyre defeated Lio Rush all to qualify for the match.

Bayley V Sasha Banks
Bayley eliminated her forever frenemy Sasha Banks to win the 2019 Women’s Royal Rumble match. In the weeks following the event the woman who failed to win the event aka Banks. Would waste little time in stating that if things had worked out then she would have won the Rumble.

The winner of the match aka Bayley took issue with this and confronted Banks. The two women agreed to a singles match to take place at the Elimination Chamber match. The winner of that match would be able to call themselves the definitive N1C to the RAW Women’s Championship.

Rousey Goes Country
Mickie James defeated Alexa Bliss on the post-Rumble episode of Monday Night RAW in a singles match. This wasn’t just a regular one on one women’s division encounter. As the winner would earn the right to call themselves the number one contender to the RAW Women’s Championship.

So as a direct result of this victory James could pick where and when she could have the title match. She told both MNR GM Kurt Angle and the current champion Ronda Rousey© she wanted the match at Elimination Chamber.​

Intercontinental Chamber Clash
The second Elimination Chamber match added to the titular pay per view event. Also served as a sort of a second chance for the six men who failed to qualify the first time around. Well five of them in the forms of Apollo Crews, Baron Corbin, Heath Slater, Sami Zayn and Matt Hardy.

As the final spot would be taken by the current Intercontinental Champion Bobby Lashley©. This was the last match added to the pay per view part of the Elimination Chamber event.​

KickOff Show Matches
A trio of matches were announced as part of the Kickoff Show part of the MNR exclusive WWE Elimination Chamber ppv. Two title encounters and a tag team match, first up the non-title match. Between the Authors of Pain and the Revival, two teams that had both failed to win tag team gold recently, due to the other’s interference. So MNR GM Kurt Angle announced a two out of three falls match for Elimination Chamber.​

A match for the RAW Tag Team Championship between the reigning champions Bobby Roode and Chad Gable©. And the challengers the pair of Otis and Tucker aka the tag team known as Heavy Machinery.​

Finally, a one-on-one men’s division match for the Cruiserweight Championship. Featuring the current champion Buddy Murphy© and the man who was the inaugural champion in the new era of the title. In the form of TJP, a man who had scored a non-title win against Murphy recently.​
