Road to the Rumble

Event Announcement
The first ppv presented by the company for 2017 was rather fittingly that year's edition of the WWE Royal Rumble pay per view event. Which would happen on the 29th of January 2017 and take place at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

2017 Royal Rumble Match
With the announcement of the titlar pay per view, it should shock no one that the first match confirmed for the event. Was the thirty man over the top rope battle royal aka the Royal Rumble match. Where a total of thirty men from MNR, NXT, FNS and from the past would go to war for a shot at a world championship at WrestleMania 33. ​

So if you mess up or feel things didn't go right, let them be. Bookers in real life do PLENTY of bad work and guess what they just gotta focus on making the next show good. Don't put so much pressure on yourself, you have a good set up and good ideas, let em flow !

RAW Road to the Rumble

Universal Championship
Kevin Owens(c) VS Seth Rollins
On the January 2nd 2017 episode of Monday Night RAW, the brand's General Manager Mick Foley took to the ring. To announce a huge main event that had Royal Rumble implications, a ten man mini-rumble match. Where the last man inside the squared circle would earn the right to challenge Kevin Owens(c) for the WWE Universal Championship at the pay per view. In the end it came down to the champions Y2KO tag team partner Chris Jericho and Seth Rollins. With the latter grabbing the former and sending him packing over the top rope to win the match, setting up a huge title match for the future.


RAW Women's Championship - 2/3 Falls
Charlotte Flair(c) VS Sasha Banks
Then on the following week's episode of the show a rematch for the WWE RAW Women's Championship. Between the reigning champion aka Charlotte Flair(c) and the former champion aka Sasha Banks took place. However the match didn't end in a definitive way as the ecounter concluded with a double pin situation. MNR General Manager Mick Foley made an appearance and proceeded to announce a two out of three falls championship match for the Royal Rumble ppv.


RAW Tag Team Championship
The Bar(c) VS Enzo Amore & Big Cass
The final match from Monday Night RAW concerned the brand's WWE RAW Tag Team Championship. It became official for the event after the challengers aka the team of Enzo Amore and Big Cass. Managed to defeat both of the champions in singles matches with Amore beating Cesaro and Cass doing the same to Sheamus.

Not wanting to be outdone by his Monday Night RAW counterpart, FNS GM Shane McMahon took to the ring on the first episode of Friday Night Smackdown of 2017. To announce a huge triple threat match for the WWE Championship, it would be AJ Styles(c) defending against both John Cena and Randy Orton.

On the 13th of January 2017 episode of Friday Night Smackdown the quartet of Becky Lynch, Carmella, Naomi and Natalya Neidhart faced off. In a number one contender, fatal four way match. Which saw Naomi pin Carmella with the Rear View to become the N1C to the Smackdown Women's Championship.

American Alpha(c) VS The Usos
The final match announced for the 2017 Royal Rumble pay per view was a tag team match for the Smackdown Tag Team Championship. Between the champions, American Alpha(c) and the challengers the Usos. Which came about after the Usos won a non-title match against the champions on the 20th of January episode of FNS.

• Backstage pre-recorded promos from the WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens©. And the N1C Seth Rollins aired ahead of their match which was up next. Both champion and challenger stated they would win the match.

• Kevin Owens with Chris Jericho© beat Seth Rollins to stay WWE Universal Champion. Jericho distracted Rollins at ringside. Which allowed Owens to roll him up with a handful of tights.

• A history of the Royal Rumble match played out before the main event.

• Chris Jericho won the 2017 Royal Rumble match by eliminating Sami Zayn last. WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens came down to ringside and distracted Zayn, leading to Jericho throwing him out of the ring.

Road to No Way Out 2017

Event Announcement
The follow up pay per view from the Royal Rumble came from Friday Night Smackdown, and it would be called No Way Out. It would take place on the 12th of February with the city of Phoenix Arizona at the Talking Stick Resort Arena.

WWE Championship
AJ Styles(c) VS John Cena
The "Phenomenal" AJ Styles(c) successfully defended the WWE Championship in a triple threat match. At the Royal Rumble pay per view event, in which both John Cena and the "Viper" Randy Orton. He retained the gold after getting the pin on Orton following a successfully attempted Phenomenal Forarm.

The man who didn't get pinned in the encounter aka John Cena confronted Styles on an episode of Friday Night Smackdown. To ask for another shot at the title at No Way Out since he didn't get pinned, Styles agreed to the match. ​
