So, here it is. In truth, I had pretty much called it quits when Stojy made a joke about us doing this..which of course sent my brain spiralling and picturing various different storylines that will hopefully play out before you eyes.

So thanks Stojy. For keeping me in the game.

Thanks to Battletank, who made some sexy ass custom RAW line breaks that are features in this show to mark commercial breaks.

This is my first actual show I've posted in...way too long. I've been procrastinating for a week or two now, and through constant rewrites, some even this morning lol, this is the finished product. Some promos are in full, some are in summary, one I randomly wanted to write the majority in full but opened in summary? Blame the rewrites this morning. Line breaks, as mentioned, are by Battletank, the other two graphics are by me.

So, thanks to anyone who takes time to read this lesser work, I promise, it’ll be worth getting RAW over with so that Stojy can post Smackdown!!

Week 1
March 15, 2004
Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, NJ

The show opens with the same video that closed out Wrestlemania XX just one night prior. Set to the theme song of the event, Step Up by Drowning Pool, the video shows highlights from every match on the card starting at John Cena winning the United States Championship from the Big Show in the opening match and ending with Chris Benoit winning the World Heavyweight Championship in the main event. The video ends with Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero hugging in the ring.

Following the video, RAW General Manager Eric Bischoff walks backstage, followed closely by Jonathan Coachman and Johnny Nitro when a production assistant runs up to him, flustered. Stuttering on his words, the PA can’t get his message out. Bischoff yells at him, saying he has a show to run! The PA finally manages to say that Mr. McMahon is here! Bischoff’s eyes go wide. Bischoff asks when Mr. McMahon got there, and where he is? He doesn’t have time to hear a response.

*NO CHANCE*

______________________

Back in the arena, the music that signals the arrival of the WWE Chairman blasts through the arena, and the audience roars, reacting with a mixture of cheers and boos. Vince McMahon struts out from backstage, he’s dressed in a sharp black suit, with a smug grin on his face. Vince waits a moment at the top of the ramp, soaking up the reaction before making his way down to the ring. He steps through the ropes, is handed a microphone, and motions for the music to cut off.

Vince McMahon : Last night… was historic!

The crowd cheers at the mention of WrestleMania 20.

Vince McMahon : Last night at WrestleMania, we saw the dawn of a new era. Titles changed hands, legends were made, and careers were changed forever.

Some more cheers.

Vince McMahon : But, as I’ve always said… the show must go on! And as of tonight, we are starting a new chapter in WWE history. You see, as great as WrestleMania was, I’m always thinking ahead. I’m always thinking about how to shake things up, how to keep things… interesting. Which is why, I am out here tonight to make an announcement that will change the very fabric of Raw and SmackDown!

Vince looks around for a moment, letting the crowd wait for it.

Vince McMahon : You see, certain general managers it seems, have grown too attached to their current rosters, favouring certain superstars, even going so far as to let some champions make their own rules! That’s why I’ve made the decision, ladies and gentlemen, that next week, right here on Raw, we will be holding a WWE Draft Lottery!

The crowd roars with a mix of surprise and excitement.

Vince McMahon : Now, for those of you who don’t quite understand what this means… let me explain. Names of superstars from Raw will be placed in a pool for Paul Heyman to draw names from, and superstars from SmackDown will be placed into a pool for Eric Bischoff to draw names from. And next week, I will personally oversee as both General Managers draw names from those pools. No one… and I mean NO ONE… is safe.

The camera cuts backstage where Eric Bischoff, Jonathan Coachman, and Johnny Nitro are passing by a screen, Bischoff stares at it in shock! Back in the arena..

Vince McMahon : This is an opportunity. An opportunity for superstars to switch brands, to create new rivalries, and to make a bigger name for themselves! Imagine it! Raw’s biggest stars could find themselves on SmackDown… and SmackDown’s biggest could make their way to Raw. No one knows whose name will be called. Champions… commentary teams… anyone!

Vince's grin is large, he’s loving this. The idea of pure chaos and unpredictability surrounding the draft.

Vince McMahon : Titles could move. Alliances will be broken. Tag teams could be separated. And, believe me, that’s just the beginning. You see, this draft is not just about shaking things up for the sake of it—oh no, it’s about ensuring that WWE continues to be the very best sports entertainment company in the world. It’s about creating moments, history, and excitement for every single one of you! This… this is about opportunity. An opportunity for superstars to redefine themselves, to take their careers to new heights, or to start fresh on the other side. And next week, when that first name is drawn, all bets are off. Anything can happen!

The crowd cheers louder, this draft, is going to be BIG.

Vince McMahon : So, to every single one of you in the back, get ready. Each and every one of you sitting here in the crowd, and watching around the world, get ready. Prepare yourselves for the most unpredictable night in WWE history!

Vince steps toward the towards the camera, his voice lowering as the camera zooms in on his face.

Vince McMahon : It’s going to be a night… that you’ll never… forget!

The crowd roars as Vince drops the microphone and his music hits again. He exits the ring, walking up the ramp with the same confident swagger, leaving the crowd buzzing with excitement. The camera cuts to Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler on commentary. Lawler is speechless, he tries to speak several times but can’t put words together.

JR pushes through, saying that next week will shake the very foundation of this business, but that’s next week! This week is almost as big! A graphic appears showing the World Tag Team Champions
Rob Van Dam and Booker T taking on Mark Jindrak and Garrison Cade. JR says that after last week when Jindrak pinned Booker T in an eight man tag team match, Cade and Jindrak get a huge opportunity when they take on the champions in a non title match. The graphic changes and shows the NEW world heavyweight champion Chris Benoit and a mystery partner taking on Ric Flair and Triple H in a tag team match. JR mentions that no one has seen Triple H since the end of Wrestlemania last night. Lawler appears to have found his voice as he shouts concern over the draft! “Did he say ANYONE can be drafted?!”

The camera cuts backstage as a furious looking Chris Jericho storms through the backstage area, he pushes open several doors..looking for something, or someone.

4gf6hLD.png

In the back, Vince McMahon walks confidently toward his limousine, a smug grin on his face after his blockbuster announcement regarding the upcoming draft lottery. Just as Vince reaches for the door handle of his limo, a frantic Eric Bischoff comes running up behind him, flanked by Jonathan Coachman and Johnny Nitro.

"Vince! Vince! Wait a minute!" Bischoff shouts between deep breathes. He looks worried. Coachman and Nitro hover closely.

Vince turns slowly and starts to smirk, clearly amused by the sight of RAW's general manager in a panic. Bischoff catches up, trying to compose himself as he begins to speak. "I need some clarification on this draft lottery. You don’t mean that my champions, or my top talent are eligible to be drafted? They can’t be!"

Vince raises an eyebrow, his smile widening. "Oh, I mean everyone, Eric," he says. "Everyone. Your champions, your so-called superstars, even these two idiots following you around" Vince adds, gesturing dismissively at Coachman and Nitro, who exchange nervous glances.

Bischoff’s eyes widen. "Wait, wait! You can’t be serious, Vince! What about—"

But before Bischoff can finish his thought, Vince interrupts, stepping closer. "Eric" he says with a cold smile, "First, it’s never Vince, it’s Mr. McMahon and second, everyone is eligible... including you." Bischoff is speechless, staring at Vince in disbelief.

Vince doesn't wait for a response. He opens the limo door. "See you next week... for the draft," he says casually before stepping inside and shutting the door. The limo pulls away, leaving Bischoff, Coachman, and Nitro standing in stunned silence, unsure what to do next. The draft could change everything.

The camera cuts to the arena where Rico has already made his way out from the backstage area. He’s in the ring, wearing face paint and a posing for the crowd.

*BREAK THE WALLS DOWN*

Not posing for anybody, and in a terrible mood, Chris Jericho storms to the ring. One night removed from being betrayed by Trish Stratus, Jericho looks like he’s all business.

Match One
Singles Match

Chris Jericho versus Rico

Still reeling from the betrayal of Trish Stratus at WrestleMania, it’s clear from the start of the match that Jericho is taking out all his frustrations on Rico.

As the bell rings, Jericho charges at Rico, immediately overwhelming him with hard strikes. Rico tries to fight back, but Jericho gives him no room to mount any kind of defense. Jericho hammers Rico with punches, chops, and a vicious clothesline that sends him crashing to the mat.

Jericho is in no mood for games, the match is a one-sided beatdown. He slams Rico into the corner, following up with more punishing blows before dragging him to the center of the ring. Without wasting any time, Jericho locks in the Walls of Jericho. Rico struggles for only a moment before tapping out.

Chris Jericho defeated Rico by submission (1:02)

The match ends in just over a minute, with Jericho standing tall. His expression is one of pure rage, still consumed by the bitterness of Trish's betrayal, as he glares at the fallen Rico before grabbing a microphone.

"Christian! Trish! Get your asses out here right now!" Jericho's face is beat red, with rage. The crowd cheers, ready to see Jericho get his hands on Christian. But no one comes. Instead, a video comes on the titantron, revealing Christian and Trish in a lavish New York restaurant. Trish is sitting comfortably on Christian’s lap, a smile on her face as she plays with a glass of champagne. Christian, grinning from ear to ear, begins to speak.

Oh, I would have loved to be there tonight, Chris” Christian sneers. “Just to see the look on your face. To see how stupid someone has to be to think they could actually be with Trish.” The crowd boos loudly, but Christian continues, “But, y’know, we decided to stay back here in New York for some... quality time,” Christian smirks as he runs his hand along Trish’s leg.

Jericho paces in the ring as Trish giggles seductively, rubbing her hand on Christian’s neck. "Oh, don't worry, Chris," Trish says mockingly, "we'll see you around." Christian and Trish begin to make out, but just as things start to heat up, the screen cuts to black.

Jericho is standing alone in the ring, shaking with rage. He looks like he might destroy everything in sight. But instead, he hurls the mic to the ground and storms out of the ring, muttering to himself as he walks to the back.

Backstage in the Evolution locker room, Ric Flair sits on a couch. The "Nature Boy" looking unusually concerned. Batista sits in a chair nearby, his glance switching between the other two.
Randy Orton, the Intercontinental Champion, paces back and forth.

Flair, breaking the silence as he looks at Batista. "I still haven’t heard from Triple H. He’s supposed to be my partner tonight. If he doesn’t show... you might have to step in.." Batista straightens up, ready for whatever. Before he can respond, Orton interrupts.

"We dealt with Mick Foley and The Rock at WrestleMania," Orton says, still pacing. "We’ll deal with Benoit tonight, whether Triple H is here or not." Flair and Batista look at each other. There’s a brief silence. Flair stands up and puts a hand on Orton’s shoulder, stopping him from pacing. "Whoa, Randy, slow it down" Flair says, "Triple H is the one who put this group together. We don’t just assume he’s out."

Batista leans forward, watching as Orton and Flair stare at each other. "Yeah, I get it," Orton replies, shrugging. "But I’m just saying... we’ve got this. No matter what." Flair shakes his head, still not convinced, but he goes back and sits on the couch, looking towards the door, practically begging Triple H to walk in.

The RAW REBOUND presented by Splinter Cell : Pandora Tomorrow plays, showing highlights of an eight man tag team match last week. Garrison Cade, Mark Jindrak and La Resistance took on the World Tag Team Champions Booker T and Rob Van Dam and the Dudley Boyz. The highlight package ends showing Mark Jindrak getting a pinfall victory over Booker T, one half of the tag team champions.

Back from the break, Mark Jindrak and Garrison Cade are walking through the backstage area. Laughing while talking, cocky as hell. Jim Ross on commentary says that coming up next Jindrak and Cade go toe to toe with the Tag Team Champions Booker T and Rob Van Dam.

In the Divas locker room, Stacy Keibler and Miss Jackie are in the middle of an argument, clearly blaming each other for the loss their team took at WrestleMania XX.

"I don't know why you're blaming me," Stacy says, her arms crossed defensively. "You were the one who slipped up during the match!" Miss Jackie, clearly frustrated, rolls her eyes. "Slipped up? You call that a slip-up? You were too busy waving to the crowd to even realize what was going on! You cost us the match!" Stacy steps forward, her tone sharp. "I cost us the match? You could barely keep your dress on! You’re the reason we lost the evening gown match, not me!"

The two continue bickering back and forth, just as it looks like they might start fighting right there, the door to the locker room swings open, and in walks Molly Holly. But something about her is...different. Molly, is sporting a long, blonde wig, the result of having her head shaved after her match at WrestleMania. Stacy and Miss Jackie immediately stop their argument and stare at Molly, trying to hold back their laughter. The wig is so obvious.

Molly looks back and forth between the two women. "What?" she shouts. Stacy and Jackie exchange quick glances, struggling to hold in their laughter. Molly glares, and she points a finger at them. "What’s so funny? You think this is a joke?" Miss Jackie lets out a small laugh, followed by Stacy, who bursts into uncontrollable laughter. "No, no," Stacy gasps, "it's just...your hair, Molly!"

Molly's eyes go wide. "You two think you’re so funny, don’t you? At least I didn’t lose an evening gown match!" Molly storms out of the room, slamming the door behind her. Stacy and Miss Jackie laugh uncontrollably, momentarily forgetting their argument. Jackie, still giggling manages to say "I think the wig looked worse than her being bald!"

*TUNNEL VISION*

Mark Jindrak and Garrison Cade step out onto the stage, both oozing confidence. They pose for a moment before exchanging nods as they prepare for what they see as a stepping stone to the World Tag Team Title shot. Once in the ring, Jindrak and Cade take turns posing on the turnbuckles, making it clear that they believe tonight is their night.

*ONE OF A KIND / CAN YOU DIG IT REMIX*

The crowd erupts as the World Tag Team Champions
Rob Van Dam and Booker T make their way out. Van Dam is all smiles, soaking in the fans’ cheers. Booker T looks more focused, clearly looking to avenge the pinfall from last week. Van Dam and Booker T bump fists on the ramp before heading to the ring. RVD does his signature thumbs to himself, "Rob... Van... Dam!" while Booker T jumps on a turnbuckle and raises his World Tag Team Championship high. Jindrak and Cade don’t take their eyes off the champions.

Match Two
Tag Team Match {Non Title}

World Tag Team Champions Booker T and Rob Van Dam versus Mark Jindrak and Garrison Cade

The match begins with a lot of energy. The bell rings, and Rob Van Dam starts things off against Garrison Cade. Cade, with his size and strength, tries to overpower RVD, but Van Dam uses his speed and agility to dodge Cade’s attacks. Van Dam hits a quick spinning kick to Cade’s chest, sending him stumbling into the corner. Van Dam follows up with a springboard crossbody, taking Cade down for an early near fall. Cade gets back to his feet and, after a short exchange, manages to tag in Jindrak. Jindrak enters the ring with a burst of energy, but Van Dam is ready. RVD catches him with a deep arm drag, followed by a standing moonsault.

With Jindrak momentarily down, RVD tags in Booker T. Booker T quickly takes control, lighting up Jindrak with a series of chops. He whips Jindrak into the ropes and nails him with a textbook sidekick, sending him crashing to the mat. Booker follows up with a standing vertical suplex and goes for a cover, but Jindrak kicks out at two. After a series of quick tags, RVD and Booker isolate Jindrak in their corner, wearing him down. Cade hits a cheap shot from the apron, which allows Jindrak takes advantage, delivering a powerful clothesline to Booker T, turning the tide in the challengers' favor. Jindrak and Cade begin to dominate, using underhanded tactics and cutting the ring in half to prevent Booker from tagging in RVD. Jindrak holds Booker in a front facelock, keeping him grounded, while Cade taunts the crowd. Every time Booker tries to fight back, Cade interferes, allowing his team to stay in control.

4gf6hLD.png

After several minutes of punishment, Booker finally breaks free, hitting Jindrak with a spinebuster out of nowhere. Both men are down, crawling to their corners. Just as Booker leaps to RVD, Cade rushes around the ring and pulls Van Dam off the apron at the last second, preventing the tag. The crowd boos loudly as the referee yells at Cade, but while the ref is distracted, Jindrak capitalizes by raking Booker T's eyes. Van Dam gets back up and tries to rush the ring, but the ref tries to block him, allowing Cade to slide back into the ring as the challengers hit a double-team back suplex on Booker. Jindrak go for the cover, but Booker kicks out at two, showing his resilience.

Finally, Booker manages to fight off Cade and makes a tag to Rob Van Dam. RVD storms into the ring, taking out both Jindrak and Cade with high-flying kicks and his signature Rolling Thunder on Jindrak. The momentum is fully back with the champions, and RVD goes up top, looking for the Five-Star Frog Splash. Just as Van Dam is about to hit the move, Cade jumps onto the apron and shoves RVD off the top rope, sending him crashing to the mat. The referee misses the blatant interference, focusing on Booker T trying to get back into the ring. Cade and Jindrak take advantage of the chaos—Cade enters the ring without a tag and delivers a hard clothesline to RVD while the referee’s back is turned.

With Van Dam dazed, Jindrak quickly picks him up and Cade assists him in delivering a devastating Doomsday Device. Cade goes for the cover, as Jindrak blocks Booker T from breaking up the pin, the ref counts to three.

Mark Jindrak and Garrison Cade defeat Booker T and Rob Van Dam by pinfall (13:17)

Cade and Jindrak steal the victory! The crowd boos as they quickly roll out of the ring, celebrating their win. Booker and RVD look frustrated as Cade and Jindrak smirk from the ramp, a huge upset win over the champions!

__________________

The camera cuts to the backstage, where the NEW World Heavyweight Champion
Chris Benoit is making his way through the back. He shakes a couple hands, and JR yells on commentary that Benoit will be in the ring next!!

4gf6hLD.png

Mark Jindrak and Garrison Cade jump down the hallway, high-fiving each other after their latest victory. Both are still sweating from the match, grinning from ear to ear. Cade slaps Jindrak on the back, “We did it, man! Two weeks in a row!” Cade exclaims, his voice filled with excitement. Jindrak nods. “Beating the champs twice! We’re unstoppable!”

Before they can celebrate further, Todd Grisham hurries over, microphone in hand. “Mark, Garrison, huge win tonight! You’ve just pinned the World Tag Team Champions, Rob Van Dam and Booker T, for the second week in a row. What’s next for you guys?” Jindrak doesn’t stop walking as he glances at Cade. “What’s next?” he smirks. “We just beat the champs two weeks straight. We deserve a shot at those titles!”

Cade nods. “Exactly! No more playing around. We’re going straight to Bischoff!” Todd follows along, microphone still outstretched. “So, you’re saying you’re going to talk to Eric Bischoff about a title match?”

Damn right” Jindrak responds confidently. With that, the two wrestlers pick up the pace, clearly heading toward Eric Bischoff’s office, their eyes set firmly on the championship gold.

*WHATEVER*

Chris Benoit steps out onto the stage, wearing his new World Heavyweight Championship proudly over his shoulder. He pauses for a moment, taking in the thunderous applause. His face, still bruised and exhausted from the war he endured the previous night at WrestleMania 20, breaks into a rare smile. He slowly makes his way down the ramp, slapping hands with fans, overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and respect. As he enters the ring, he climbs the turnbuckle and raises the World Heavyweight Championship high above his head, drawing even more cheers.

Benoit picks up a microphone, standing tall in the center of the ring as his music fades out, letting the crowd cheer for a few more seconds before getting started.

Chris Benoit : Last night... last night at WrestleMania 20, I fulfilled my dream. I did what so many said was impossible. I walked into wrestlemania 20, I took on two of the best this business has to offer, I made Triple H tap out, and I became your World Heavyweight Champion!

The crowd cheers again, chanting “Benoit! Benoit! Benoit!” Benoit takes a breath, and continues.

Chris Benoit : For the past eighteen years, every day of my career has been a fight. I’ve bled, I’ve been broken, but I’ve never stopped. Because thisthis is what I’ve fought for my entire career. To stand here one day, in front of each and every one of you, as the World Heavyweight Champion! I want to thank all of you. Every single one of you that has believed in me from the start. You’ve seen me go through the hardest fights, face the toughest challenges, and you’ve stuck by my side. This wasn’t just my journey, this right here... this isn’t just my championship. This is OUR championship. For every single person who ever doubted themselves, for everyone who was every pushed down and got back up, for every person who was told they’d never make it…YOU CAN.

Benoit looks around at the crowd.

Chris Benoit : Last night was the culmination of all that hard work… but it’s only the beginning. I know there are men back there who want a shot at this title. Guess what, I’m not running. I’m not hiding. If you want to face me, bring it on. Last night I proved that Chris Benoit is for real, and I’m ready for whatever comes next!

*LINE IN THE SAND*

The crowd’s cheers turn to loud boos as Randy Orton, Batista, and Ric Flair emerge from the back, looking smug and confident. They walk down the ramp together, glaring at Benoit in the ring. Orton grabs a microphone as the three of them climb onto different sides of the ring, surrounding Benoit as they stand on the apron.

Randy Orton : Chris… Chris… you really think last night was the end of it? You think because you got lucky at WrestleMania, it’s all over? No, no, no… just because you humiliated Triple H and now he’s not here, doesn’t mean that Evolution is just gonna let you ride off onto something else.

Flair tries to hide it, but he glares at Orton after the obvious dig at Triple H.

Randy Orton : So, here’s what’s gonna happen..Tonight, You won’t get Triple H… but you’re still gonna get us. You’re gonna get Big Dave, and the Nature Boy in a tag team match, and word on the street is, you still haven’t found yourself a partner.

Benoit clenches his fists, ready to fight, while Orton smirks arrogantly.

Ric Flair : You should’ve known better Benoit! Evolution… we run this place! Wooo! And tonight, we’re going to show you why!

The three members of Evolution get into the ring and close in on Benoit, ready to attack. Benoit looks around, bracing himself for the impending beatdown. Just as Evolution prepares to strike…..

*SEXY BOY*

The crowd explodes with cheers as Shawn Michaels sprints down the ramp and slides into the ring, standing shoulder to shoulder with Benoit. The crowd goes wild as Michaels and Benoit face off against Evolution.

Without hesitation, Benoit and Michaels unleash a flurry of punches on Orton, Batista, and Flair! Evolution tries to fight back, but as Batista charges at Michaels, Michaels drops and a Batista flies over the top rope to the floor. Benoit slams Flair with a series of brutal chops before locking him in the Crippler Crossface! Orton almost gets caught with a sweet chin music but quickly dives out of the ring as Batista pulls Flair out as well. Evolution, caught off guard, quickly retreats from the ring as Benoit and Michaels stand tall.

Benoit and Michaels nod to each other, as Evolution regroup at the top of the ramps, furious.

4gf6hLD.png

Back from the break, a quick recap video is shown. The video shows Evolution surrounding Chris Benoit, before Shawn Michaels came to try and even the odds.

As the video ends, Eric Bischoff is sitting at his desk, with Jonathan Coachman and Johnny Nitro sitting close by. The door slams open as Randy Orton, Ric Flair, and Batista burst in.

Randy Orton : This is bull! You can't just let Shawn Michaels be Chris Benoit's partner tonight!

Ric Flair : That's right! What are they, friends now?! This is ridiculous! You gotta do something about this, Bischoff!

Batista looks annoyed, but he lets Flair and Orton do the talking. Bischoff sighs.

Eric Bischoff : Look, I don’t like it any more than you do, but Benoit was allowed to pick anyone he wanted from the RAW roster. My hands are tied.

Flair paces.

Ric Flair : Your hands are tied?! You’re the damn General Manager, Bischoff! You’re supposed to run this place!

Eric Bischoff : Listen, I think we all need to just take a breath, Has anyone heard from Triple H?

Orton glares at Bischoff.

Randy Orton : Forget about Triple H! We've got bigger issues to deal with!

Flair’s eyes go wide, and he finally snaps. Getting in Orton’s face.

Ric Flair : What’s up with you tonight, kid? You got a problem with Triple H all of a sudden? Don’t you forget who runs Evolution!

Orton locks eyes with Flair, and smirks, but his voice goes to a low, dangerous tone.

Randy Orton : Do you forget who’s still the only one in Evolution holding a championship after last night?

Flair pauses, momentarily speechless. Batista steps forward.

Batista : Cool it, both of you. We don’t need to be fighting each other.

Orton takes a breath, then turns his attention back to Bischoff.

Randy Orton : What about the draft? We need to make sure Evolution doesn’t get split up. You say you can’t fix this tag match tonight, but you can do something about the draft right? Make a rule or something?

Eric Bischoff : Sorry, Randy. Mr. McMahon made it very clear, everyone is eligible. No exceptions.

Orton clenches his fists in frustration, pacing. Flair throws his hands up. Flair gets heated again.

Ric Flair : Dammit, Bischoff, I’ve never liked you! What good are you ?! This whole thing is falling apart!

Bischoff walks around his desk and gets into Flair’s face.

Eric Bischoff : You know Ric, I’m pretty much at my wits end tonight, so if you three don’t think you can handle a tag match tonight, then maybe it’s a good thing there’s a chance you won’t be on my show after next week!

The room falls into a tense silence as the Evolution members glare at Bischoff.

Back in the arena, the team of Jacqueline and Ivory are already in the ring. Jim Ross on commentary mentions that it seems, without Triple H, the cracks are starting to show in Evolution. Jerry Lawler says he’s being ridiculous, Evolution is fine.

*LEGS*

Fresh off their defeat in the infamous evening gown match at WrestleMania 20, Stacy Keibler and Miss Jackie make their way down the ramp together, a determined look on both their faces. Jackie ignores the crowd, and looks disgusted when Stacy hugs a few of the fans.

Match Three
Tag Team Match

Stacy Keibler and Miss Jackie versus Ivory and Jacqueline

The bell rings, and Stacy starts things off against Ivory. Stacy uses her long legs to her advantage, landing a few well-placed kicks, but Ivory quickly counters, using her experience to ground Stacy with a snapmare. Ivory tags in Jacqueline, who goes straight to work, hitting a powerful clothesline that sends Stacy to the mat. The crowd gets behind Stacy as she struggles to get to her corner.

With a burst of energy, Stacy manages to crawl to her corner and tags in Miss Jackie. Jackie storms the ring, firing off punches at Jacqueline, backing her into the ropes. She sends Jacqueline into the opposite corner with an Irish whip and charges in with a shoulder tackle. Ivory tries to get involved, but Jackie knocks her off the apron with a spinning elbow.

Just as the action intensifies, Jacqueline manages to get a cheap shot in on Jackie, sending her stumbling back. However, Jackie quickly recovers, ducks under a clothesline, and hits Jacqueline with a sudden dropkick. Stacy jumps back in, taking out Ivory with a running knee, clearing the way for Jackie to roll up Jacqueline for the three-count.

Stacy Keibler and Miss Jackie versus Ivory and Jacqueline by Pinfall (3:07)

Stacy and Jackie win the match! But before they can fully soak in the moment, Molly Holly suddenly charges down the ramp, attacking both Stacy and Miss Jackie from behind. She’s still wearing the long blonde wig, attempting to hide her shaved head. Molly ruthlessly beats down both women, stomping and throwing punches, her rage evident. The crowd begins to boo loudly as Molly continues her assault, yelling at the women the entire time. But just as things look bleak for Stacy and Jackie, the Women’s Champion, Victoria, sprints down the ramp to a massive pop from the crowd!

Victoria slides into the ring, going straight after Molly. She tackles her to the mat, unleashing a flurry of punches. The two women brawl, with Victoria gaining the upper hand. In the chaos, Victoria grabs Molly's wig and rips it clean off, revealing Molly’s bald head once again! Molly lets out a scream of horror and scrambles out of the ring, trying desperately to cover her head as she retreats up the ramp.

Victoria stands tall in the ring, holding Molly's wig high in the air as the crowd roars in approval. Stacy and Miss Jackie begin to recover, and the three women stand together, staring down a furious, humiliated Molly Holly as she retreats backstage.

Backstage, Shawn Michaels sits alone on a bench in the locker room, pulling his wrist tape tight. The door swings open, and in steps Chris Benoit, he looks intense, as always. Benoit walks up to Michaels, a slight tension in the air.

Shawn,” Benoit says, his voice sounds a bit more angry than expected “thanks for earlier. I appreciate it, but I didn’t need your help. I was going to take them on myself.

Michaels smirks, not looking up at first. He finishes wrapping his wrist and flexes his hand a few times before standing to meet Benoit’s gaze. “Oh, I’m well aware,” Michaels replies. “I know you could’ve gone out there and taken that beating three-on-one, Chris. But that wouldn’t exactly be smart for either of us now, would it?”

Benoit narrows his eyes, folding his arms across his chest. “What do you mean, ‘for both of us’? I can handle my own.”

Michaels chuckles lightly, nodding. “Oh, I know you can. But I wasn’t just protecting you out there. I was protecting my own interests, too.”

Benoit raises an eyebrow. “Your interests?”

Shawn steps closer, the smirk fading into a more serious expression. “That’s right. Tonight, I’m gonna help you take care of Evolution in that tag match. But when that’s done… I’m coming for what’s around your waist, the World Heavyweight Championship.” Michaels pauses, “And I want you at 100% when I do.”

For a moment, there’s silence between them, Benoit’s jaw tightens, his hands balling into fists at his sides, but he doesn’t flinch. Instead, he just nods, the intensity in his eyes matching Michaels’. “We’ll see about that, Shawn, I’m not hiding. ” Benoit says, his voice low but confident.

Michaels grins, backing up a step. “Oh, we will.” He turns back to his gear, putting his foot up in the bench and adjusting his knee pads with calm precision, as if the conversation never happened. Benoit stares on.

Back from the break, The Hurricane and Rosey are just finishing up their entrance. They pose in the ring as the crowd cheers.

*FINAL FORCE*

A wave of boos rises from the crowd as La Resistance's entrance music blare through the speakers. Rene Dupree and Rob Conway march out from behind the curtain, their faces etched with frustration and anger. The French flag is draped over Dupree’s shoulders, and Conway waves another proudly in the air, though neither man acknowledges the boos from the crowd. As they stride down the ramp, Dupree leads the way, his eyes locked on the ring, where The Hurricane waits. Conway walks just behind, his jaw clenched, occasionally barking insults in French toward the fans. The two exchange brief words before Dupree rolls into the ring and raises his arms, glaring at the crowd, while Conway stands at ringside.

Match Four
Singles Match

Rene Dupree w/Rob Conway versus The Hurricane w/Rosey

The bell rings, and Rene Dupree wastes no time, charging at The Hurricane with a powerful lock-up in the center of the ring. The Hurricane uses his speed and agility to slip out of Dupree's grasp, delivering a series of quick arm drags that send Dupree stumbling. Dupree tries to regain control, but The Hurricane stays on the offensive, nailing a dropkick to Dupree's chest. The crowd is firmly behind The Hurricane as he climbs to the second rope, looking for a high-flying move.

Before The Hurricane can strike, Dupree smartly rolls out of the ring to regroup, consulting with Rob Conway, who stands in his corner. Rosey, on the opposite side of the ring, cheers on his partner, urging The Hurricane to stay focused. Dupree slides back in, but The Hurricane meets him with a flurry of punches, backing Dupree into the corner. As The Hurricane goes for a corner splash, Dupree counters, catching him mid-air and slamming him down with a spinebuster.

Dupree takes control, wearing down The Hurricane with a chinlock, but the Hurricane fights back, trying rallying the crowd. He breaks free and hits the ropes, delivering a flying clothesline that drops Dupree. The Hurricane signals for the Chokeslam, but Rob Conway blindsides Rosey on the outside, sending him crashing into the barricade!

The referee turns his attention to the chaos outside, trying to separate Conway and Rosey, who are now brawling near the announce table. Seizing the moment, a returning Sylvain Grenier suddenly appears from the crowd. Sliding into the ring, Grenier grabs the French flag from the corner and strikes The Hurricane in the back of the head, sending him crashing to the mat. Grenier quickly slips out of the ring, disappearing just as the referee turns his attention back to the action inside.

Dupree smirks, then covers Hurricane.

Rene Dupree defeated The Hurricane by pinfall (4:11)

Dupree celebrates as Grenier and Conway join him in the ring. The Hurricane lies motionless, the victim of a sneak attack.

____________________

Eric Bischoff is pacing behind his desk, his face red with frustration. His voice booms as he slams a fist down on the table.

"I'm sick of being pushed around!" he yells, "Ever since I became GM, I've been pushed around, told what to do, and I'm sick of it! Week after week, I get no respect!" Johnny Nitro and Jonathan Coachman sit silently on the couch, eyes forward, neither daring to say a word. Bischoff’s rant continues, his hands gesturing wildly as he vents.

Just then, the door slams open. Chris Jericho storms in. Without missing a beat, he points a finger at Johnny Nitro. "Shut your mouth, Nitro!" Jericho snaps, even though Nitro hasn’t said a word. He turns to Bischoff, his tone demanding. "I want a match with Christian!"

Bischoff, still fuming, shakes his head. "Christian isn’t here this week, you know this Chris, we all saw the video!"

Jericho steps closer, eyes locked on Bischoff. "Then make it next week."

Bischoff stares at him, takes a deep breath, trying to hold onto whatever remains of his composure. Mutters something and then storms out of the office, the door slamming behind him.

4gf6hLD.png

*I'M BACK*

The reaction is mixed, with loud boos drowning out the cheers. General Manager Eric Bischoff storms down the ramp, the usual smug smirk wiped clean off his face. His steps are quick, deliberate, and he’s clearly on a mission. Dressed in his signature black leather jacket, he wastes no time as he grabs a microphone from the ring announcer and marches straight into the center of the ring. Bischoff stands still for a moment, glaring out into crowd.

I’m done. I am DONE!” he snaps. The crowd grows quieter, sensing something big is coming. “RAW is the most dominant brand in this company! And you all know it. SmackDown wishes, WISHES, had what we have over here. And you know why RAW is at the top? Why RAW is THE flagship show of the WWE? Because of ME!” The audience erupts into boos, but Bischoff pushes right through it, his voice growing louder, more commanding.

Eric Bischoff : That's right, it's because of me that RAW stands above everything else! Next week… next week, sure, there’s a draft lottery, but I’m going to put on the biggest RAW this company has ever seen. And you can bet that any SmackDown Superstar who might be thinking about where they want to end up after the draft, oh, they’re gonna be BEGGING to get drafted to RAW!

Bischoff’s eyes narrow as he paces the ring.

Eric Bischoff : Let me tell you what you’ve got in store. First of all, the World Tag Team Championship will be on the line! Booker T and Rob Van Dam will defend those titles against Mark Jindrak and Garrison Cade!

The crowd reacts with a mixture of cheers for the champs and boos for the challengers.

Eric Bischoff : That’s not all. Next week, you will witness Chris Jericho going one-on-one with Christian! A match you won’t want to miss.

The energy in the arena spikes as Bischoff’s words fuel anticipation. Bischoff grins, now fully embracing the crowd’s reaction.

Eric Bischoff : And finally, your new World Heavyweight Champion, Chris Benoit, will defend his championship for the very first time right here next week!

The audience explodes in response, cheers erupting as Bischoff raises his arms, soaking in the reaction.

Eric Bischoff : That’s right! This is my show.! This is, and forever will be, Eric Bischoff’s RAW! No draft lottery is going to change that!

Bischoff drops the microphone with a final, decisive gesture. His music hits once again as he exits the ring, leaving the crowd buzzing with anticipation for what’s to come next week. He barely makes it up the ramp before pyro explodes from the stage.

*SLOW CHEMICAL*

The red lighting floods the arena, and the Big Red Machine Kane slowly makes his way to the ring, his cold, menacing stare locked forward. He stops for a brief second as he passes Bischoff, with Bischoff trying to remain cool. Unclear when it happened but his opponent, Steven Richards, is already in the ring, looking uneasy but trying to hype himself up. The crowd can sense the impending destruction.

Match Five -
Singles Match

Kane versus Steven Richards

As the bell rings, Richards charges at Kane, trying to catch him off guard with a series of punches, but they have no effect on the monster. Kane barely flinches as he absorbs the blows. With one swift motion, Kane grabs Richards by the throat and tosses him into the corner like a rag doll.

Kane stalks toward Richards, who stumbles to his feet and tries to fight back with a wild kick to Kane's midsection. It lands, but Kane grabs Richards’ head and slams him face-first into the turnbuckle. Richards stumbles back, dazed. Kane shows no mercy, wrapping his massive hand around Richards' throat. The crowd rises to their feet as Kane lifts Richards high into the air and slams him down with a thunderous chokeslam, shaking the ring on impact. Richards is laid out, motionless on the mat. Kane stands over him, looking down for a moment before placing his boot on Richards’ chest.

Kane defeated Steven Richards by pinfall (44 seconds)

The bell rings, but Kane isn't finished. He glares down at Richards, then picks him up and delivers another devastating chokeslam. The arena is filled with a fiery glow as Kane grabs a microphone.

"I don't care about this draft next week," Kane growls. "It doesn't matter if Raw or SmackDown takes me. If either show drafts me to the same show as my brother..." He pauses. "I will unleash hell on everything they hold dear."

The crowd erupts, knowing exactly who Kane is talking about—his brother,
The Undertaker. With that, Kane drops the mic, his music hits once again, and he slowly exits the ring, leaving a destroyed Steven Richards in his wake.

4gf6hLD.png

Backstage, René Duprée, Sylvain Grenier, and Rob Conway are celebrating their win. Champagne bottles pop, and the three are all smiles, raising glasses in victory. Duprée is standing tall in the middle, his French flag draped over his shoulders, while Conway lounges on a bench, a cocky smirk across his face. Grenier, freshly returned and full of energy, is pacing around, hyped up from the adrenaline of his comeback.

René Duprée : La Résistance... is BACK! And stronger than ever!

Rob Conway : You saw the looks on those stupid heroes faces? Didn't know what hit 'em. They thought they could take us down? No chance.

Sylvain Grenier : Did you miss me, boys? Because I’ve been itching to get back into this for a long time. And tonight? Tonight, made my mark. We're united again. La Résistance is unstoppable!

The three men clink their glasses together, and take a drink. Duprée slings an arm around Grenier’s shoulders.

René Duprée : When La Résistance stands together, no one can stop us. We’ve conquered before, and now we’ll do it again. First The Hurricane, then the whole tag division! We’ll get our titles back before we know it!

Grenier nods as he takes a drink, looking fired up and determined.

Sylvain Grenier : Tonight was just the beginning.

The three clink their glasses together again as the camera zooms in on Duprée’s face.

René Duprée : Vive La Résistance!

They all laugh as the celebration continues.

_____________________

The camera cuts to the commentary table where Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler recap the huge announcements for next week's RAW, building anticipation for a monumental night. First, they highlight the Draft Lottery, where every single employee from RAW and SmackDown is eligible to be drafted. No one is safe as rosters could be completely shaken up, promising major surprises and a brand-new landscape for WWE. Next, they promote an exciting World Tag Team Championship match, where the reigning champions
Booker T and Rob Van Dam will put their titles on the line against the team that beat them tonight, Mark Jindrak and Garrison Cade! It doesn’t get more personal, because after last nights betrayal at the hands of Trish Stratus, Chris Jericho looks for revenge as he goes one on one with Christian.

Finally, they focus on the main event:
Chris Benoit’s first World Heavyweight Championship defense after winning the championship last night at Wrestlemania 20. No opponent has been announced, but Shawn Michaels did lay out a challenge earlier tonight! Speaking of Michaels and Benoit….

*LINE IN THE SAND*

It’s time for the main event. Evolution, the Intercontinental Champion
Randy Orton, Batista, and Ric Flair, make their way to the ring for the second time tonight. They look focused, but Flair has an eye on Orton, who seems to have taken it upon himself to be the leader of Evolution in Triple H’s absence.

4gf6hLD.png

*SEXY BOY*

With Evolution already in the ring waiting, the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels makes his way out. He may not have walked out of Wrestlemania as champion, but he’s still a man with purpose.

*WHATEVER*

The crowd roars as the new World Heavyweight Champion
Chris Benoit makes his way out. He stops at the top of the entrance way and raises the championship into the air before resting it on his shoulder and making his way to the ring.

Match Six -
Tag Team Match

World Heavyweight Champion Chris Benoit and Shawn Michaels versus Ric Flair and Batista w/Intercontinental Champion Randy Orton

The match begins with Ric Flair and Chris Benoit in the ring. Flair attempts to out-wrestle Benoit with his veteran savvy, but Benoit responds with sharp chops and stiff suplexes, demonstrating his dominance early. The crowd erupts as Benoit delivers a signature German suplex on Flair before tagging in Michaels.

Shawn Michaels enters with a flurry of offense, showcasing his agility and high-flying ability. A flying forearm sends Flair reeling, and the crowd pops as Michaels kips up, building momentum. However, Evolution's strategy soon kicks in as Flair rakes Michaels' eyes and tags in Batista. The powerhouse immediately changes the tone of the match, using his brute strength to pummel Michaels, tossing him around like a ragdoll. Michaels struggles under the onslaught but refuses to stay down, absorbing Batista's power moves.

Evolution takes control, isolating Michaels in their corner with quick tags and underhanded tactics. Flair works over Michaels' leg, prepping him for the Figure-Four Leglock, while Batista uses his power to wear down the Heartbreak Kid. The crowd rallies behind Michaels as he fights for survival, finally breaking free with an enzuigiri that drops Batista to one knee.

With the crowd roaring, Michaels makes the desperate tag to Benoit. The Rabid Wolverine storms the ring, delivering a series of German suplexes to both Flair and Batista. The energy in the arena explodes as Benoit clears house, forcing Evolution to scramble.

As the match heads toward its climax, Benoit has Flair locked in the Crippler Crossface. Batista charges into the ring, but Michaels cuts him off! Michaels ducks and lands the Sweet Chin Music out of nowhere, dropping the Animal flat. The fans erupt as Batista crashes to the mat. Orton on the outside is looking for an opportunity to help out his teammates, but Michaels flies over the top rope and takes him out! Flair struggles, but there is no escape from Benoit's devastating submission. With nowhere to go, the 16-time world champion taps out.

Chris Benoit and Shawn Michaels defeated Ric Flair and Batista by submission (11:49)

Benoit gets the win and the referee hands him his championship. But the celebration is cut short. As Benoit barely has time to raise his arms, Triple H storms the ring, wielding a sledgehammer. He wastes no time, driving the hammer into Benoit's face, sending the champion crashing to the canvas in agony. Shawn Michaels attempts to come to Benoit’s aid, but Batista is up and blindsiding Michaels, stopping him from even getting into the ring.

With Michaels taken out, Triple H focuses his wrath on Benoit, delivering repeated sledgehammer shots to his already prone body. Benoit is busted open, blood pouring from his forehead as Evolution stands tall over his fallen frame. Triple H glances at Orton, who backs up, knowing he’s said a few things tonight that he shouldn’t have. The crowd watches as Triple H kneels beside the bloodied champion, grabbing the World Heavyweight Championship and holding it in front of Benoit’s face.

This is my championship,” Triple H screams. “I’m coming back for it.”

The show ends with Evolution standing tall, Benoit lying in a pool of his own blood, and Triple H raising the World Heavyweight Championship above his head.

Vinnie Mac promo announcing the draft next week was really well written. Got to the point, hyped it nicely, anybody up for grabs and all that jazz. The added touch of Bischoff and his flunkies freaking out when they heard Vinnie Mac was here, and then showing their reaction during the Vince promo was awesome. Lovely little touch that to many people would miss including. Good start.

Oooh Jericho is mad. Damn right he should be to after being betrayed last night.

Straight up the break, Bischoff trying to get some answers from Vince, who basically confirms Bischoff’s worst fears. Just an awesome job at hyping the draft in a couple of segments. Which is great, because erm, pretty much barely gets a mention on SD. We ain’t about to hype an episode of Raw. This is war, son.

Hmm, Jericho being utterly furious makes sense, and he squashes Rico badly here. Interesting because there were two ways you could have gone about this. Jericho could have been distraught, shattered, a shell of himself, and struggle results wise for a little while, or he could come out breathing fire immediately wanting revenge. I don’t mind this approach at all, and LOVE Christian and Trish rubbing it in his face the way did. Feud obviously still has plenty of legs, and this was a solid way for it to continue for now.

Evolution haven’t heard from Triple H? Intriguing. Love the idea of Orton almost seemingly like he’s ready to step up and be the man here, because they can take care of business even if Triple H doesn’t show up.

Clever little segment here to hype two things at once. We get the Stacy/Jackie stuff, and they seemingly bond together again over their laughter at Molly. Intrigued to see how you book bald Molly.

Damn, son. Cade and Jindrak getting a win over the champs is huge. Love that this match got a lot of time to shine as well. Throughout 2004, Raw was AMAZING with a lot of huge Evolution six mans and what not so would love to see more of that to. But anyway, good win here over the champs. Their interview afterwards with Grisham makes sense, they want those titles.

Benoit promo time had to happen at some stage tonight considering he’s the new champ. Feel like everything Benoit actually said was okay, but the dialogue should have been split more. That big chunk of five lines or so with no crowd reactions or no emotional pauses just doesn’t seem like it fits the moment for me. Probably being a little picky here, but just a thought. Otherwise, Evolution coming and Randy again having a dig at Triple H, before leading to the attempted assault and the reveal of Michaels as Benoit’s partner later was all good.

Not much else to add but another thumbs up with a solid reaction segment with Evolution being unhappy with the situation. Bischoff’s last line would have stung to lol.

LOL Stacy and Jackie beating Jacqueline and Ivory in a wrestling match is ridiculous. I get it, but you know what I mean. The match isn’t important here though, the aftermath is with Molly attacking because of earlier, and then Victoria embarrassing her again. Solid stuff.

I like the dynamic between Benoit and Shawn. They aren’t just friends because there are both faces. They clearly have a competitive issue that they want to solve. Teaming together is just a means to an end.

Dupree over Hurricane is fine enough. Does the job of getting the trio of La Resistance back together, which I’m assuming was the point of this. I’m okay with that.

Lol poor Bischoff having a hard day. Jericho demanding a rematch with Christian makes sense. Bischoff just leaving wasn’t exactly the reaction I expected, but clearly the night is taking its toll.

Bischoff kind of trying to prove his worth because he’s annoyed at everything happening at the moment is the perfect reason to stack next week’s show. Match card looks pretty dope, although admittedly I am surprised you’re pulling the trigger so soon on a Jericho/Christian rematch. Can’t help but feel there will be some sort of shenanigans here to keep the feud going.

Kane DESTROYING Richards is definitely the right move. After a relatively tame loss at Mania, and being scared/in denial regarding the pending return of Taker for a month before that, guy needs to look like a monster again. This starts that process. Much like Kane, I also hope he doesn’t get drafted to SD. Wait, is this a spoiler? Shit.

La Resistance celebration promo was solid enough, confirming that they are indeed reunited. No issues.

Main event seemed like it would have been nice, and no issues with the face team going over. Especially since it set the scene for the aftermath so Evolution could hit their standard beat down, using their numbers advantage. The more things change, the more they stay the same I guess. Triple H was intense here, should be interesting how you balance the title aspirations of Triple H and Michaels, whilst also working on introducing fresh blood to challenge Benoit along the way.

You can say whatever nonsense you like, but this blows SD out of the water, tbh. A very strong first show, plenty to work with, and didn’t feel like a time killing show at all, despite the fact so much will change after the draft. Strong start.

Few things. I'm not overly happy with this first show but have some pretty good plans that I should be able to build into as I go. Also, a version of this show was written years ago, and some of the match recaps had a lot of detail in them. Wouldn't expect too much of that for future shows, outside of a PPV.

Thursday Night Smackdown – March 18th, 2004
Boston, Massachusetts – TD Garden

In the same vein as Raw, Smackdown kicks off with a video package which adequately portrays the pomp and pageantry of last Sunday’s WrestleMania XX. They key moments focused on throughout the highlight video package are: John Cena winning his first singles championship in the WWE, defeating The Big Show to become the WWE United States Champion; the World Tag Team Champions Booker T and Rob Van Dam defied the odds, beating Garrison Cade and Mark Jindrak, The Dudley Boyz and La Resistance to retain their titles; in the match of the night, Christian bested Chris Jericho thanks to interference from the love of Jericho’s life, Trish Stratus; Evolution used their strength in numbers and passed by the Rock ‘N’ Sock Connection when Randy Orton pinned Mick Foley; Torrie Wilson and Sable defeated Stacy Keibler and Miss Jackie in an Evening Gown Match, mainly due to a miscommunication between the Raw tandem; Chavo Guerrero won a Cruiserweight Open to retain the WWE Cruiserweight Title; the most anticipated match of the evening saw Raw’s Bill Goldberg beat Smackdown’s Brock Lesnar, however after the match they both fell to Stunners from the Special Guest Referee, Stone Cold Steve Austin; Much like their Raw counterparts, Smackdown’s WWE Tag Team Champions Rikishi and Scotty Too Hotty defied the odds, outlasting the World’s Greatest Tag Team, The APA and The Basham Brothers; Molly Holly had her head shaved when she failed to regain the Women’s Championship from Victoria; the WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero outsmarted Kurt Angle, untying his boot laces to break the Ankle Lock and catch Angle off guard with a quick pin; The Undertaker returned and squashed Kane, continuing ‘The Deadman’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania; Finally, in the main event, Chris Benoit achieved a lifelong dream, beating both Triple H and Shawn Michaels in a Triple Threat Match to become the World Heavyweight Champion for the first time.

***

“VIVA LA RAZA”

Much like his buddy Chris Benoit over on Raw, the ovation is TREMENDOUS as the man who retained his WWE Championship at WrestleMania, EDDIE GUERRERO rolls his light blue low rider with red bonnet scoop into the arena. As always, the cheers get louder as Eddie parks his car beside the ramp, before giving the hydraulics a good working out, all whilst sporting his mischievous grin. After enjoying the features of his vehicle, Eddie stands on the seats, before letting out a little shimmy and tapping the gold WWE Title around his waist.

Finally, Guerrero jumps out of the car and rolls into the ring, immediately jumping to one of the corners and surveying the raucous audience. As Eddie is handed a mic, he continues to slap his chest and dance around, getting the fans to start up a standard “EDDIE”, “EDDIE”, “EDDIE” chant. The smirk from ‘Latino Heat’ just continues to get bigger, until the noise dies down enough for him to speak.

Eddie Guerrero: ORALE VATO… VIVA LA RAZA!!!

Eddie gets a little red faced, screaming his catchphrase which gets another epic ovation from the Boston natives. Guerrero enjoys the ovation for a few more seconds before getting a slightly more serious look on his face.

Eddie Guerrero: I just want to start off by saying thank you to each and every one of you, I truly appreciate the support. As your WWE Champion, I take it as my responsibility to get the show started on the right note, but before I do that, before we have some fun, I just need to take a few moments to be serious about some things close to my heart.

Full of respect, the audience remains rather silent so their champion can speak.

Eddie Guerrero: You see, holmes, as far as I’m concerned, my win over Kurt Angle at WrestleMania last Sunday, keeping the WWE Championship, that was the happy ending to the darkest chapter of my life. It’s pretty well known around these parts that I’ve battled my fair share of demons in my life, but pretty much since the start of this year, it has been the hardest few months of my life.

Eddie looks down to the canvas, a sombre look on his face and you could almost hear a pin drop in the arena.

Eddie Guerrero: Let’s take a look back at these last few months. First of all, I lost my family, la familia, the people I relied on more than anybody to get through all of my problems and they turned their backs on me. My two brothers, Chavo Guerrero Senior and Chavo Guerrero Junior, who even though he’s my nephew, he’s like a brother, el yo abandonado, they deserted me. They left me high and dry, they hurt me both physically and mentally, but I fought through the pain, the anguish, the hell, I overcame it all and I beat Chavo at the Royal Rumble.

Cheers go up for the announcement of his victory a few months ago, and the champ nods in appreciation.

Eddie Guerrero: And just when I thought I could see the light at the end of the tunnel, life got harder. In February I faced the biggest physical challenge of my life when I went up against Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at No Way Out. That Brock Lesnar, he’s one big, bad hombre, and as difficult as it was, it was also the greatest challenge of my life, because I overcame Brock Lesnar and became the WWE Champion!!!

A VERY LOUD ovation comes from the audience this time, and Eddie’s forced to wait a few moments before he can continue.

Eddie Guerrero: Thank you all again, it means a lot, but after I become WWE Champion, things didn’t get much easier. With no family to celebrate my title win with, I turned to one of my closest friends who supported me through all of my issues with my family, I turned to Kurt Angle. And what happened? Kurt Angle turned on me, brutally assaulted me and had the Smackdown General Manager Paul Heyman in his back pocket but you know what? I dug deep, I overcame and I still found a way to win at WrestleMania.

Yes, of course the mention of the SD Mania main event gains another pop from the crowd.

Eddie Guerrero: Now that’s where the dark, sad story of Eddie Guerrero ends, because if I could get through the last few months, then I can get through anything. Estoy listo, I’m ready to move forward, I’m ready to be happy, and it doesn’t matter what obstacles get thrown in front of me, I’ll overcome them because they’re nothing compared to the demons I’ve had to face in the past.

Guerrero’s getting fired up again now, becoming a little more upbeat, getting a little louder.

Eddie Guerrero: I look forward to the challenges that Paul Heyman is going to throw at me, OR what Eric Bischoff throws at me if I get drafted to Raw next week and I laugh at them, vato. They’re a walk in the park compared to what I’ve been through, and overcoming all of these obstacles, it helps me fulfil my new addiction.

The audience seems a little confused by that statement but Eddie continues to smirk.

Eddie Guerrero: I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I have a new addiction but I promise it’s not an addiction to any sort of drug or alcohol. No, no, no, I’m addicted to defying the odds, I’m addicted to continue to earn the respect of all of you fans, and I’m addicted to being the best WWE Champion that I can be.

He says this full of pride and taps his belt, and giving a little shimmy, sending the fans into a frenzy.

Eddie Guerrero: So far I’ve been feeding that addiction and because of it, with the beginning of this new chapter in my life, I feel on top of the world, esse. But after fighting so hard for the past few months, even the champion deserves the odd night off, holmes. I’m not scheduled to compete tonight but for all I know, the next challenger for the WWE Championship is. So tonight, I’m going to sit back and relax like a WWE fan, maybe eat a couple of burritos and enjoy the show with everybody else.

The fans give some polite applause for that, and Eddie points to an empty seat in the front row. ‘Latino Heat’ steps towards the ropes and is half out of the ring, prepared to go take his seat, when he’s stopped in his tracks by…

***MENTAL***

The all too familiar of the Smackdown General Manager hits and it generates plenty of heat, as the walrus looking PAUL HEYMAN steps through the curtain. Dressed in his usual suit, Heyman has a smug look on his face, ignoring the heat from the audience. One thing Heyman does show is his intelligence, deciding to remain at the top of the ramp as opposed to joining Eddie inside of the ring.

Once his music dies down and the heat lowers with it, Heyman raises the microphone to speak.

Eddie Guerrero: I’m just about to head to ringside and chill out with the fans and enjoy the show. What the hell do you want, holmes?

Guerrero looks frustrated at the appearance of the GM, but Heyman clearly doesn’t appreciate the reaction from Eddie.

Paul Heyman: Now hold on there, Mister Guerrero, let me clear something up for you. I can understand that you’ve gotten caught up with your reminiscing over the past few months of your life. I can understand that after your big win at WrestleMania that perhaps you’re floating on a cloud of euphoria, but let me bring you back down to reality. Don’t forget the pecking order around here, you might be the WWE Champion but I’m your boss, which means I can do whatever the hell I want, whenever the hell I want.

Boos are directed at Heyman for his attitude filled response, and Eddie looks set to retort, bringing the mic to his mouth.

Paul Heyman: No, no, no, no, just no. I don’t pay you to talk, I pay you to wrestle, so do yourself favour and just shut up and listen.

More heat from the fans but Eddie’s fuming now as well, getting red faced. Heyman seems to be enjoying the reaction his evoking from the WWE Champion.

Paul Heyman: Let me remind you again just to make sure it sinks in, you’re the WWE Champion, and I’m the General Manager. I decide who has the night off and when, not you. I actually think it’s pretty humorous that you think you deserve the night off, because as far as I’m concerned, Smackdown is all about competition. Paul Heyman’s Smackdown is all about the best competition in the world and the WWE Champion needs to epitomise that at all times.

Heyman pauses, letting those words sink in, whilst Eddie listens intently, wondering where this is heading.

Paul Heyman: And you’re not exactly epitomising the best competition in the world by trying to take a night off, so it’s not going back to happen. Let’s take a trip down memory lane for a moment, esse, ever since the Paul Heyman administration took over Smackdown, the WWE Champion has never had a night off, not even the greatest WWE Champion of all time, Brock Lesnar. Eddie, being the WWE Champion is a huge responsibility, so you’re not getting any time off.

The fans boo Heyman’s shit talking and Eddie even rolls his eyes, because everybody knows Heyman always favoured Brock.

Paul Heyman: Now I’ve been mulling how to keep the momentum going after an extraordinary Smackdown side of WrestleMania, and I’ve managed to come up with the perfect strategy for tonight’s show. There’s not many ways you can compete with WrestleMania but I’ve figured out a way to do it. Not only will tonight’s main event be WrestleMania worthy, but it’ll also allow me to kill two birds with one stone… You see, right here tonight, in that very ring where you stand, in non-title action, in what may be the last time this happens depending on the draft next week, Eddie Guerrero… The WWE Champion… You will go one on one with the WWE United States Champion John Cena in a champion versus champion match!!!

Holy shit, that’s a huge announcement. The fans don’t like Heyman but they do like that announcement, letting out a BIG TIME pop. Despite looking a little battered and tired, even Eddie seems impressed, smirking and nodding his head ever so slightly.

Paul Heyman: I wish you the best of luck tonight, Mister Guerrero, I assume against such tough competition that you’re going to need it… Thank you very much!

Those last words are laced with cockiness but Heyman seems happy with just putting Eddie in another difficult situation. Whilst the fans go back to booing Heyman, the GM steps through the curtain, leaving Eddie to ponder how the night off has turned into a main event against John Cena. Eddie continues to think things over, as we head to a break.

1 – Tag Team Match
Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty vs. The Basham Brothers

We kick off in ring action tonight with the WWE Tag Team Champions in non-title action against a hungry team who if getting a win, could become the number one contender’s. Realising this is their chance to the shine, The Basham’s seem extremely focused, even as the champs are making their entrance. In their typical fun manner, Rikishi and Scotty get into the ring and jive a little, dancing and having a good time with the fans… WHEN THE BASHAM’S ATTACK THEM FROM BEHIND… LOOKING TO GET THE ADVANTAGE!!!

A clever strategy from The Basham’s and it works as Danny pummels Scotty, and then he and his brother Doug focus on The Kish. The brothers eventually toss Rikishi to the outside, and begin double teaming Scotty. Our referee eventually gains control of the contest, with Rikishi returning to the apron, and as does Doug Basham, but the damage has been done, and Scotty is in trouble. The Basham’s show off their tag team expertise, isolating Scotty for a sustained period. A few times Scotty looks to build some momentum and make a tag but The Basham’s manage to cut him off, much to the annoyance of a visibly frustrated Rikishi.

Despite their domination though, The Basham’s are only able to gain a few near falls, Scotty showing the heart and resilience of a champion. One thing The Basham’s do well is constant tags and double teaming, however it also proved to be their undoing. After Danny mocks Rikishi, causing the referee to run over and prevent Rikishi from trying to get into the ring, The Basham’s look to double team Scotty again. They send him into the ropes and when he comes back… DOUBLE CLOTHESLINE!!!

NO!!! SCOTTY DUCKS, QUICKLY TURNS AND TAKES DOWN BOTH BASHAM’S WITH A DOUBLE BULLDOG!!!

The audience explodes at the signs of life from Scotty before a slow clap starts, urging him to make the hot tag, which he does. From here, the match changes significantly as he’s a big ball of energy and he begins dominating his opponents. Rikishi continues to pinball both Basham’s around the ring, before taking Danny up and over with a high Back Body Drop! There’s no time to relax though as once Rikishi gets up, DOUG CHARGES AT HIM… RIKISHI TAKES HIM DOWN WITH A SAMOAN DROP!!!

Both The Basham’s are in trouble now so Rikishi whips Danny into the corner, BEFORE FOLLOWING IN… RUNNING BUTT SPLASH IN THE CORNER!!!

There’s a huge cheer echoing around the arena as they know what’s next, as Rikishi turns his head and Danny has fallen into a seated position in the corner. The Kish begins raising the roof, before pulling ups his underwear… AND DANNY TASTES THE STINKFACE!!!

A big smile is on the face of the Samoan as he loves it, before finally relenting. Danny immediately rolls out of the ring, collapsing to the floor, whilst Doug remains down in the ring. Without making a tag, Rikishi motions to Scotty to enter the ring, and after performing all of the epic theatrics, SCOTTY NAILS DOUG BASHAM WITH THE WORM!!!

Scotty immediately rolls to the outside, wanting to ensure Danny can’t get involved, as a merciless Rikishi drags the body of Doug towards the corner. The Kish then climbs up to the middle rope… AND DESTROYS DOUG’S CHEST WITH A BANZAI DROP!!!

RIKISHI REMAINS SEATED FOR THE COVER…1…2…3!!!

Winners: Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty @ 06:40

Its celebration time for the happy go lucky champs after the match, as Scotty joins Rikishi in the ring and they share a hug. The former members of Too Cool are gifted their titles by the referee, and they dance around the ring a little, much to the delight of the fans in attendance.

The tag champs are looking on top of the tag division at the moment, capping off a strong week after a successful Mania title defence.

***

As the celebration continues inside of the ring, we head to the interview set in the backstage area where JOSH MATTHEWS is standing by.

Josh Matthews: Hi ladies and gentleman, I’m Josh Matthews and I’d like to welcome my guests at this time, accompanied by his legendary father, Chavo Guerrero Senor, he’s the WWE Cruiserweight Champion… CHAVO GUERRERO!!!

The camera immediately pans out to reveal a smug looking CHAVO GUERRERO, his Cruiserweight title around his waist. To his left is his did, CHAVO CLASSIC looking just as smug as his son.

Josh Matthews: Chavo, last Sunday at WrestleMania you successfully defended your Cruiserweight Championship in a special Cruiserweight Open match. Admittedly, you did have the luck of the draw on your side, and you used your father’s help to beat Rey Mysterio after he had already faced two other men. I think the question on everybody’s mind is will you give Rey Mysterio a one on one rematch to truly prove who the better man is?

Both Chavo’s look heavily offended at the question asked by Josh, and it’s Jr. who tees off first.

Chavo Guerrero: Are you serious right now, Josh? What the hell is wrong with you? How about you offer me some congratulations for being the standout performer at WrestleMania last night? Everybody’s talking about my Uncle Eddie beating Kurt Angle, or Chris Benoit beating two men in a Triple Threat, but basic math says that I had the best WrestleMania out of anybody, not just last night but in it’s entire twenty year existence. I beat nine other men all by myself.

His dad looks proud, patting him on the back as he continues.

Chavo Guerrero: But I wouldn’t expect any better from you, Josh. You’re just like everybody else. You’re just like Eddie and you’re just like all of these fans, everybody is jealous of me, and you’re all doing everything you can to hold me down. You need to face the facts, at WrestleMania, I beat Rey Mysterio, end of story.

The Cruiserweight champion shoots Matthews another dirty look, so the interviewer knows not to say anything. Chavo Classic now takes centre stage.

Chavo Classic: From somebody who isn’t insanely jealous of Chavo, I just wanted to say how proud I am of my son. He faced a one in ten chance of retaining the Cruiserweight Title, and he did it. For all of these people nagging and complaining about Chavo and I cheating to keep the Cruiserweight Title, well that’s just too bad. We’re Guerrero’s, it’s what we do, if Rey Mysterio wasn’t prepared for us to cheat, he shouldn’t have been in that match in the first place.

They share a laugh amongst themselves now, feeling a little better than they did when Josh first asked his question.

Chavo Classic: Now going back to your original question, Josh, about Rey getting a rematch, it isn’t going to happen. WrestleMania is not the first time that Rey Mysterio has lost to Chavo, and quite frankly, he doesn’t deserve a rematch.

Classic’s finished up now, so Chavo Jr. steps up.

Chavo Guerrero: My dad just hit the nail on the head, things between Rey and I are finished. He can win as many matches and look as impressive as he wants, but numerous times when the chips are down, I have beaten Rey. At WrestleMania I closed this issue with Rey once and for all, because I proved that I am better than him, and hopefully for Rey’s sake, he learns his lesson or gets drafted to Raw. Now run along, Josh…

For shits and giggles, and probably because he didn’t appreciate Matthews’ question, Chavo glares at him, and Josh quickly leaves the screenshot. The Chavo’s continue to talk amongst themselves, seemingly having distanced themselves from Rey Mysterio…

2 – Singles Match
Jamie Noble vs. Shannon Moore

Honestly, not a lot to this one. Michael Cole and Tazz sell this as two guys looking to make their mark after falling short in the Cruiserweight Open at WrestleMania. Moore, the former Mattitude follower really tries to put in some work, flying around and landing some high risk moves, but to put it frankly, Noble is a class above. The redneck brawler is eventually able to ground more, pummel away at him… AND LOCK HIM IN THE DRAGON SLEEPER!!!

Moore flails his arm around, desperate for the ropes or some sort of help, but there’s none… SO MOORE TAPS OUT!!!

Winner: Jamie Noble @ 03:21

The bell rings and there’s a mixed reaction for Noble, the fans not sure how to react after he decimated Moore, who whilst being a jobber, is also a baby face.

Anyway, Noble gets his hand raised by the ref, keeping the intense look on his face, before he motions that the Cruiserweight title will be sitting where the waistband of his jeans shorts are.

Noble continues to celebrate a relatively easy night’s work as we cut away…

***

We now cut to a vision of the arena doors, and almost as if on cue, the door roughly swings open as KURT ANGLE steps foot into the building. Fresh off of his loss at WrestleMania, Angle looks to be in a foul mood, quickly storming down a hallway and into a locker room.

Inside of the locker room, Angle ignores some of the jobbers seated in there, throwing his bag against the wall, before storming back out.

Kurt continues to march with the purpose through the hallways, barging threw several crew members, bullying them because he’s mad. A couple of the disgruntled crew members mumble to themselves, but Angle stops in his tracks, shooting them a glare, and they immediately pipe down.

A vicious looking Kurt then snarls at them, continuing on his merry way, until it becomes all too clear that he’s heading towards the gorilla position…

***MEDAL***

Despite his impressive effort at Mania against Eddie Guerrero, there’s nothing but heat as a clearly FURIOUS KURT ANGLE storms through the curtain. To get an idea of what sort of mindset he’s in tonight, Angle doesn’t even pause to set off his pyro, ignoring it completely. Unfortunately he does get into some back and forth with the fans on his way down the ramp, unable to completely ignore their chants of “YOU SUCK” to the tune of his entrance music.

The Olympic Gold Medallist rudely snatches a microphone from Tony Chimel, before scaring the hell out of him, forcing him to exit the ring promptly. Angle paces up and down the ring for a few moments, waiting for the fans to stop booing him, and he’s clearly unimpressed about it.

Kurt Angle: This is the same crap that I had to deal with at WrestleMania, and to be honest with you, I’m sick and tired of it. What the hell is wrong with you people? I’m an Olympic Gold Medallist, I represent the red, white and blue of the United States of America each time I come out here, yet you treat me like this… On the other hand, all you idiots will go nuts with excitement when Eddie Guerrero, a former drug addict comes out here. I just don’t get it, I’m an American hero, and each time I come out here, including last Sunday, I fight for everything that is pure in the world and in our once proud country.

Angle is furious, getting red faced as he barely pauses for a breath throughout that spiel. After the insults of Guerrero, the fans kick start an “EDDIE” chant, which quickly infuriates Kurt even further.

Kurt Angle: I’m the best damn wrestler in this entire company, and it’s about time I get treated like it.

“EDDIE”, “EDDIE”, “EDDIE”. Kurt eventually has to wait for the chant to die down, unable to hear himself think and speak.

Kurt Angle: This actually brings me to another point, I’m sick and tired of not getting treated with the respect that I deserve. I don’t get the right amount of respect from the guys in the back, and I sure as hell don’t get enough respect from you people.

The audience continues to shit all over Angle, it’s true, it’s true.

Kurt Angle: I’ll break the ankle of each and every one of the so called wrestlers in the back until they start treating me with the respect that I deserve. As for you people, you should treat me with more respect, but admittedly, you’re all not that important. The only other person who needs to respect me right now is the guy who runs this show, the General Manager of Smackdown, the one and only Paul Heyman.

Having thrown in a slight dig at the audience, it almost looks as if Kurt’s feeling a little more like himself now. The mention of Heyman gets plenty of heat from the crowd though.

Kurt Angle: And by Paul Heyman giving me the respect I deserve, I mean that I should be getting a rematch for the WWE Championship! What kind of champion is Eddie Guerrero? He’s not a champion that anybody can be proud of, he’s an embarrassment. I was the better man at WrestleMania, I had Eddie Guerrero right where I wanted him. I had beaten his ankle so bad he could barely walk, and I locked in the ankle lock, ready to break his ankle, when he’s freakin’ boot came off.

Reliving the moment gets more cheers from the fans, and gets Kurt mad again.

Kurt Angle: He untied his own boot, removing his gear to squirm out of a wrestling hold that he couldn’t escape fairly. That’s not showing championship heart or championship valour, that’s cheating, plain and simple. As far as I’m concerned, right here tonight, I should be getting my rematch for the WWE Title, but I’m not. Instead I’ve been forgotten about and the main event is that coward Eddie Guerrero against that Marky Mark wanna’ be.

More heat from the fans as Angle insults two of their favourites. An exasperated Angle just throws his arms up in dismay.

Kurt Angle: To make matters worse, not only am I not getting my rematch, I wasn’t even scheduled to appear tonight. I wasn’t pencilled in for an interview and I wasn’t booked in a match but I refuse to stand idly by and be treated this way. Things need to change around here and they need to change now, so I’m not leaving this ring until somebody comes out here and gives me the respect that I deserve…

It seems Kurt is serious, as he lowers his mic, nothing else left to say, but he shows no signs of leaving the ring. On commentary, Cole talks about Angle being a cry baby who’s now holding the show hostage, but Kurt doesn’t care. He continues to pace around the ring for another few seconds, until the audience begins serenading him with a “YOU SUCK” chant.

Angle shakes his head but takes the chant in his stride, remaining in the ring, literally holding up the show…

***NEVER GONNA STOP***

It takes a few moments to sink in but when it does, the ovation is GIGANTIC because returning after twelve months out with a broken neck is EDGE. As the smoke comes into the air at the entrance ramp, the Canadian runs to each side of the stage, encouraging the fans to get amped. Donned in casual clothing, Edge has a microphone in his hand as well, and after playing to the fans, he stops and just smirks, enjoying what is arguably the best ovation of his career.

Inside of the ring, Angle looks a little annoyed at the interruption, but also looks shocked to see a man he has quite a bit of history with in Edge. Angle begins to look less offended and a little bit more concerned as the returning star slides right into the ring, showing no hesitation. He’s smart enough to not turn his back on Angle though, and instead just stares him down until his music stops.

Edge: Firstly, I want to say thank you all very much for that, it’s been a tough journey coming back from a broken neck, but nights like tonight make it all worth it. All the blood, all the sweat, all the tears, it’s all worth it because tonight each and every one of you showed me the respect that I deserve.

Edge shoots a wink to the fans, using Kurt’s own words against him, and Angle clearly isn’t happy.

Edge: I can’t explain how good it feels to be back in front of you all, and ready do what I love again. After being away for so long, this is simply a dream come true.

Laying it on thick, Edge gets another positive reaction from the audience, whilst Kurt rolls his eyes.

Edge: But Kurt, don’t get your panties twisted, I can see you getting a little frustrated over there. I didn’t just interrupt you for the sake of it, I interrupted you for a very specific reason. You see, me getting taken out for twelve long months, it couldn’t have come at a worse time for me. Personally, I was on the biggest roll of my career and I felt like I could see that light at the end of the tunnel which was a WWE Championship opportunity.

Kurt audibly scoffs and Edge shoots him a look.

Edge: Twelve months is a long time and this business is a “what have you done for me lately” type of business, so I was worried that I’d be forgotten. I’m here now to make sure that I won’t be forgotten. I’ve got two missions to accomplish now that I’m back. Number one, find out just which son of a bitch attacked me from behind.

The returning Edge grimaces, full of rage and pain regarding his attack.

Edge: And number two, after I’ve done kicking their ass and making their life a living hell… I’m going to win the WWE Championship!

Edge pauses, letting those words sink in, whilst Angle and the fans listen on.

Edge: So Kurt, I’m out here to look you in the eye like a man, something you couldn’t potentially do twelve months ago, and ask you, were you the one who took me out?

Murmurs from the fans as Edge takes a threatening step towards Kurt, but Angle doesn’t back down, despite looking surprised.

Kurt Angle: Shut up! That’s enough out of you, you self-righteous, self-centred son of a bitch! You’re not treating me with any respect, just like everybody else so maybe it’s time to make a stand. Maybe the perfect way for me to earn some respect would be to make an example out of you and put you right back on that shelf. And I’ll do it to your face, because I don’t need to attack anybody from behind!

He's brimming with intensity, but Edge still smirks at the reaction from Kurt.

Edge: Yeah, that’s good, Kurt, get fired up. Back a couple of years ago on this very show, when I started on the best run of my career, I started by beating your ass at Judgment Day! Kicking your ass helped catapult me to new heights, so I figured it might help with my investigation if I kicked your ass again.

Oh, Edge gets a really big pop for that statement. The intensity of both men is picking up in the ring.

Kurt Angle: Whoa, whoa, hold on, I’m a fair guy. I don’t have my gear with me tonight, but more importantly, you’re still looking a little fragile, Edge. I don’t want easy pickings when you’re still feeling brittle, so the answer to your challenge is NO!!!

Edge shakes his head in frustration.

Edge: Well, you see, I feel a bit more in a hurry about this because one of us could end up getting drafted to Raw next week so…

EDGE TEES OFF WITH RIGHT HANDS, rocking Kurt. Angle can’t defend himself from the barrage by Edge, until Edge sends Kurt to the ropes…

As Kurt comes back, EDGE RUNS AT ANGLE… THINKING SPEAR!!!

NO!!! KURT CLINGS ONTO THE TOP ROPE AND PULLS HIMSELF OUT OF HARMS WAY!!!

The heat is huge for Kurt, who backs away, whilst Edge begs him to return to the ring. Angle keeps telling Edge he swear he didn’t take him out, as Edge keeps inviting Angle to get back into the ring.

The two keep trading words, hatred still between them after a year and a half apart, as we head to a break.

{Commercials}

Returning from the break, we get a video package…

***

We now get the second video package of the evening showing highlights of WrestleMania, however this one has a particular focus on the return of THE UNDERTAKER. It firstly shows clips of Kane helping Vince McMahon bury ‘Taker, before showing some of the moments leading into Mania where ‘Taker was haunting Kane.

Finally, we see clips of the match where ‘Taker dominated Kane, eventually putting his younger brother away with the Tombstone Piledriver to extend his Mania streak to 12-0.

Finally, as ‘Taker’s music continues to play, a caption comes over the screen which reads…

“THE UNDERTAKER RETURNS TO SMACKDOWN… NEXT WEEK”

3 – Tag Team Match
The APA vs. The World’s Greatest Tag Team

Much like the previous Cruiserweight match, this is a match where both parties want to impress and stay in title contention after coming up short in a title match at WrestleMania. It’s safe to say this match will probably be better and go a little longer than three minutes, especially when after the bell rings, both teams don’t immediately lock up. Bradshaw is the nominated man to start the contest for The Acolytes, however Benjamin and Haas go back and forth a little, until an uneasy Shelton decides that he’ll be starting the match.

Being up close and personal with the intimidatingly large Texan in a one on one situation seems to keep Benji a little hesitant, but Bradshaw has no such problem kick starting proceedings. He simply beats the tar out of Shelton with haymakers and clubbing blows to the back, before sending him to the ropes and bulldozing him with a hard Shoulder Block! After being taken down, much to the annoyance of the fans, Shelton immediately rolls to the outside, where his partner greets him, and the two have a conference on what their next move is.

Bradshaw waits impatiently but it’s worth it when Benji slides back into the ring, with Bradshaw basically picking up where he left off. In the early stages, this match flips the normal tag formula, as instead of the heels isolating a face, Bradshaw continues to just beat the hell out of Shelton. To Shelton’s credit, he never stops fighting, even shrugging off Bradshaw and managing to push him back with a few right hands. Benji then bounces off the ropes for momentum… SPINNING HEEL KICK!!!

NO!!! BRADSHAW CATCHES SHELTON… AND SIMPLY TOSSES HIM ACROSS THE RING!!!

It’s a rough landing for Shelton who holds his back in agony, whilst Bradshaw decides not to wear out his welcome, tagging in Faarooq. And that’s the name of the game for the next few minutes for The APA, they share quick tags and use their basic, bar brawling offense to just punish Shelton. Haas is clearly getting frustrated on the apron, but it’s clear that The APA are loving inflicting punishment as always.

After Faarooq gets a near fall off of a Powerslam, he makes the tag to Bradshaw, who comes in like a house on fire. He runs through Shelton a few times, before picking him up… AND THROWING HIM ACROSS THE RING WITH A FALL AWAY SLAM!!!

Bradshaw cleverly makes sure that Shelton is in his team’s corner, BEFORE MAKING THE COVER…1…

THE REFEREE STOPS COUNTING BECAUSE HAAS RUNS INTO THE RING… BUT HE RUNS STRAIGHT INTO A SPINEBUSTER FROM FAAROOQ!!!

Bradshaw is still on top for the cover, but the referee doesn’t get back to counting, instead distracted as he orders Faarooq to get back to the apron. He then barks the same instructions at Haas, before turning back to a now furious Bradshaw, who by now had given up on the cover. Bradshaw looks at the referee and yells, “COUNT THE DAMN FINISH”… ONLY TO TURN STRAIGHT INTO A T-BONE SUPLEX FROM BENJI!!!

Shelton’s in no condition to make the cover after that, but both men remain down, and it certainly changes the match. Eventually Shelton manages to make the tag to Haas, and with Bradshaw already down, Haas uses his technical prowess to keep the much bigger man grounded. From here, the WGTT get a bit of time to dominate, with Haas putting in most of the heavy work, allowing Benjamin to recover from the beating he received early.

The WGTT show just how good they are as a team though, cutting off the ring and not allowing Bradshaw the chance to make a tag. At one point, after landing a desperation Suplex on Haas, Bradshaw looks like he might make the tag… BUT SHELTON RUNS ACROSS THE RING… AND DROPKICKS FAAROOG OFF OF THE APRON!!!

The former leader of the Nation of Domination goes crashing into the crowd barricade, whilst Shelton gets admonished by the referee. With the ref distracted, HAAS NAILS BRADSHAW WITH A LOW BLOW!!! Bradshaw falls to the canvas, holding his nuts, and Haas immediately pounces, LOCKING IN THE HAAS OF PAIN!!!

Pain shoots through the body of Bradshaw, from the nut shot and the submission, and whilst he fights it for a little while, in the end, he has no choice… BRADSHAW TAPS OUT!!!

Winners: World’s Greatest Tag Team @ 08:42

After the match, Shelton joins his partner Charlie in the ring, and they share a celebratory hug, before having their hands raised by the referee.

Victory is clearly sweet, the two with smiles on their faces, despite the fact that they’re gaining plenty of heat from the fans.

Finished soaking in the feeling of victory, Shelton and Charlie leave the ring, one win closer to potentially getting a tag team title shot in the future…

Inside of the ring, FAAROOQ has made it back now, checking on his partner BRADSHAW, both men feeling the effects of the tough match they just had.

As the two lick their wounds, everybody’s attention is directed to the titantron, where somebody can be heard clearing their throat.

On the titantron is a man who hasn’t been seen in a while, SEAN O’HAIRE donned in a black leather jacket, and a cool pair of black shades.

Despite having cleared his throat to make everybody notice him, O’Haire simply stands by, shaking his head, before pretending to only just notice that he’s on camera.

Sean O’Haire: Bradshaw… Faarooq… The Acolytes Protection Agency… You guys are pathetic!!!

Full of content, O’Haire damn near spits the words out, gaining plenty of heat from the fans. The APA themselves don’t look all that impressed either, but O’Haire just shakes his head at them.

Sean O’Haire: You see, I’m what I consider an unlucky guy. I have all of the talent in the world, and my record here in the WWE is solid, yet for some reason I have been chewed up and spat out by the promotional machine that is the WWE. I can’t even remember the last time I was on Smackdown. On the other side of things, you’ve got The APA, who’re clearly two of the luckiest guys in the world. These two untalented hacks are getting the opportunity to live out their dreams by competing in the WWE. Now for some reason, the promotional machine is behind Bradshaw and Faarooq, so they’re getting to do what even I wish I could do, they’re getting opportunity after opportunity and they squander all of them. They don’t take advantage of what’s being given to them.

The APA are definitely pissed off now, but O’Haire just adjusts his shades before continuing.

Sean O’Haire: A match here and a match there doesn’t really count, but let’s have a real think about things here. When was the last time The APA won a really important match? For some reason they managed to be involved in the WWE Tag Team Championship match at WrestleMania, but I sure as hell can’t remember the last time they won a title match.

More boos from the fans.

Sean O’Haire: To be brutally honest, these two ingrates shouldn’t even be wrestlers. The fact of the matter is all they care about is drinking, gambling and beating people up in bars. That’s sickening, this business is supposed to be about proving you’re better in legitimate wrestling competition.

O’Haire pauses as The APA wish that he was in the ring with them right now. It must be said that the fans do indeed mark out for The APA’s hobbies.

Sean O’Haire: I’ve sat back for long enough and watched, but I refuse to sit back anymore. Guys like Bradshaw and Faarooq are what is wrong with this industry. No harm, no foul, I guess it doesn’t matter now, because Bradshaw, Farooq, you’ll both be gone soon enough. This is the second coming, I am ‘The Saviour’, and Sean O’Haire is coming back to rid the WWE of everything and everybody that is not up to standard, and that’s starting with the two of you.

Having said his piece, O’Haire continues to smirk from the safety of the titantron, whilst Bradshaw and Faarooq are incensed. With an unexpected message having been sent tonight, we head to our next break.

{Commercials}

After the break, we are back at the interview set where JOSH MATTHEWS is standing by.

Josh Matthews: Ladies and gentlemen, please give a warm welcome to my guest at this time, a man who was ultra-impressive in winning the WWE United States Championship in his debut WrestleMania match last Sunday… JOHN CENA!!!

Queue the big ass ovation from the fans, as the new US Champ JOHN CENA steps into shot, all smiles. He listens to the fans, enjoying the moment, punching his chest right where it says ‘RUCK FULES’ on his t-shirt, before straightening up his ‘WORD LIFE’ baseball cap.

Josh Matthews: Firstly, congratulations on your huge title win at WrestleMania, but uh, clearly there’s no time to rest. How do you feel about having to face the WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero tonight?

Cena gets his serious face on, nodding solemnly at the task he faces in the main event.

John Cena: Look, I’mma’ be real with you, Josh. I’ve been on quite the roll recently, pickin’ up steam, kickin’ ass and takin’ names, but I know tonight I’m facin’ the best wrestler in the world. Eddie Guerrero is the WWE Champion for a reason, he proves it night in and night out and I know I’m not supposed to be at that level yet… But I don’t give a damn. Nobody thought I could beat The Big Show at ‘Mania either, but you wanna’ know what I did? I proved everybody wrong, I knuckled down, I got the job done and I got the strap to prove it.

‘The Doctor Of Thuganomics’ taps the US belt on his shoulder for further emphasis.

John Cena: Tonight, I plan on repeatin’ that performance. The way I grew up, the stuff I’ve been through, it keeps me hungry. I came up from nothin’ to make it to the WWE and this US Title, but this is just the beginnin’. I fought against all the odds in the world growin’ up on those streets, I had to survive, and that’s why I’ll continue to fight against the odds week after week, it’s in my DNA. What I’m tryna’ say is, I’m headin’ into tonight’s main event to fight and I truly believe that I can beat Eddie Guerrero.

That garners a mixed reaction from the fans in the arena, plenty of them being Eddie fans. Cena doesn’t acknowledge the reaction though, instead just waiting for the noise to die down.

John Cena: To sum it all up for ya’, Josh, I guess I feel like I’ve got all the respect in the world for Eddie Guerrero, he’s the best, but tonight, I’m gonna’ BEAT HIS ASS!!!

Some real flashes of intensity from Cena now, as the reaction from the fans gets a little more negative. Cena’s popular as hell, but Guerrero’s the man right now. The US Champ seems to have summed up how he feels, so Matthews chimes in.

Josh Matthews: Thanks for your, John, and good luck in you-…

John Cena: Whoa, whoa, hold ya’ horses, Josh. I ain’t finished.

Cena now reverses his baseball cap, and he pulls his padlock chain out of his denim jean shorts pockets, and throws it around his neck.

John Cena: Ya’ see, what would my first Smackdown be as US Champ if ‘The Doctor’ didn’t spit a little somethin’ in celebration? What if this is my last appearance on Smackdown? Wouldn’t be right If I didn’t hit a little freestyle…

Matthews shrugs, far too white to know the answer to that question.

John Cena: Yo, yo, yo, let’s d-…

Before Cena can go any further, Matthews scurries off screen because walking in from the opposite side and ruining the festivities is the former champ, THE BIG SHOW. Cena’s mood has completely changes now, looking as intense as ever, and Show goes chin to nose with him, staring him down.

John Cena: Ya’ wanna’ go, big man?

Surprisingly, Show puts his hands up, proclaiming his innocence and takes a step back.

The Big Show: You need to relax, Cena, you’ll know when I want to go. I just couldn’t help but overhear, it’s a huge match tonight against Eddie, I just wanted to come by and wish you good luck.

Cena looks really confused, but still keeps his guard up, whilst Show begins laughing hysterically, before turning and walking away. The US Champ remains firm in the same stance, just in case Show tries something sneaky, and Cena continues to seem confused with Show’s behaviour.

4 – Singles Match
Hardcore Holly vs. Rhyno

This one is a tough, rugged, stiff affair whilst it remains a competitive contest, with both men proving why they are two of the toughest men on the roster. There isn’t too much in the terms of technical wrestling here either, rather just a lot of punch/kick offense, and some basic power moves. Demonstrating how stiff this match is, both men get multiple bumps and bruises within the first few minutes, Rhyno in particular sporting the beginning of a black eye from a Holly punch. The punch seemed to daze Rhino somewhat, SO HOLLY SET UP FOR THE ALABAMA SLAM... BUT RHYNO VICIOUSLY AND REPEATEDLY CLUBS THE BACK OF HOLLY… FORCING HIM TO WITHDRAW FROM THE ATTEMPT!!!

From this moment onwards, it’s a completely different ballgame. Despite Hardcore’s best efforts, Rhyno takes over, looking far too strong and a class above in the process. After landing the vicious looking Gut Buster, Rhyno focuses his attack on the ribs of Holly, before sending him hard into the corner. The velocity of the collision with the turnbuckles causes Holly to drop to the canvas, and when he fights his back up and staggers towards the centre of the ring… HE’S MOWED DOWN WITH A GORE BY RHYNO!!!

‘THE MAN BEAST’ HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…3!!!

Winner: Rhyno @ 05:28

There’s a little bit of heat from the fans but it’s nothing overly exciting after the impressive performance from Rhyno. The former ECW Champion has his hand raised by the referee, before scaring the referee away, breathing heavily.

His matted hair in his eyes, the ferocious Rhyno looks down at Holly, who is stirring and holding his ribs. Rhyno shakes his head and heads back to the corner, getting down on his haunches, apparently not happy with the work done so far tonight.

Rhyno waits and as the game, tough Holly fights his way back to his feet… RHYNO TAKES HIM DOWN WITH ANOTHER GORE!!!

This time Holly’s not moving and the referee begins to check on him. Meanwhile, Rhyno pounds his chest twice before raising his arms in the air, standing over Holly.

Rhyno lets out a primal roar, getting a louder negative reaction than he did right after the match, but with a sadistic smirk forming, it’s clear that he’s happy with his actions tonight.

A busy man tonight, pulling double duty before the next commercial break, JOSH MATTHEWS is once again at the interview pit.

Josh Matthews: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time, he is the WWE Champion… EDDIE GUERRERO!!!

A gigantic pop from the fans as a smiling EDDIE GUERRERO walks into shot, the WWE Title proudly around his waist.

Josh Matthews: Eddie, a few moments ago I spoke to your opponent tonight, John Cena, who knows he’s in for a fight tonight. He’s also confident in bringing the fight to you and thinks he can beat you tonight. How do you feel about this?

Guerrero smirks at the question, mulling over his answer for a moment.

Eddie Guerrero: Clearly John Cena is as street smart as he says he is, because he better know that he’s in for a fight tonight, esse. I’ll give him the fight of his life it means getting the victory tonight, but I’m not stupid, holmes, I know it isn’t going to be easy. It never is in this business, and even though I don’t have any personal issues with Cena, I’m ready to go to war, vato. Cena thinks he can beat me? Nobody beats ‘Latino Heat’ at his best.

In typical Guerrero fashion, he begins getting all red faced and worked up.

Eddie Guerrero: I respect John Cena, Josh, I really do, but he can talk all the tough talk in the world, it doesn’t mean anything. This title around my waist says that I’m the best in the world and it also says that I’m willing to take on any and all comers. If I’ve gotta’ beat Cena tonight to remain the best, then that’s exactly what I’ll do.

He’s even more worked up right now.

Eddie Guerrero: And as for Paul Heyman, I know this is supposed to be an inconvenience to me, but it’s not. Wrestling is in my blood, competing is what I live for, and I’m excited as hell to go put on a show tonight and prove how good ‘Latino Heat’ really is… VIVA LA RAZA, HOLMES!!!

With that being said, and cheers echoing throughout the arena in the background, Eddie walks out of screenshot, whilst Matthews signs us off to our next set of commercials.

5 – Singles Match
Rey Mysterio vs. Ultimo Dragon

The two masked Cruiserweights share a respectful handshake which gets some general applause from the fans for the sportsmanship. Once the two lock up, it isn’t long before the two are running all over the place, putting on the type of match that only Cruiserweights can. Determined to get a win after being screwed out of the title at Mania last night, Mysterio looks really good in the early stages, dominating Dragon. However the domination is short lived, AS MYSTERIO SETS UP FOR A WHEELBARROW BULLDOG… BUT ULTIMO SHOWS INCREDIBLE STRENGTH, REVERSING INTO A DRAGON SUPLEX!!!

Mysterio lands awkwardly on the back of his head and neck, and taking on the “heel” role for this match, Dragon works on the neck. It’s all with a plan as well, as after working on the head and neck of Mysterio for a few minutes, DRAGON APPLIES THE DRAGON SLEEPER!!! Rey’s in trouble, stuck in the centre of the ring, but no matter how many times the referee asks him, he refuses to submit.

Eventually out of frustration more than anything, Dragon lets go of the hold, realising he’s not getting the win this way. As Mysterio crawls towards the ropes, Dragon connects with a low Dropkick, sending Mysterio tumbling to the outside. In typical masked wrestler fashion, Dragon straightens his mask before heading onto the apron, waiting for Rey to get up. Once Rey is on his feet… DRAGON SPRINGBOARDS OFF THE ROPES WITH AN ASAI MOONSAULT!!!

BUT MYSTERIO DROPKICKS HIM IN MID AIR!!!

Holy shit!!! A massive turning point in the match here as now it’s Dragon landing awkwardly on the floor, holding his chest, whilst Mysterio gets time to recover. Rey fights back to his feet and sends Dragon here as well, and lands several of his signature moves, getting a few near falls. Dragon manages to fight back though, showing his heart and determination, BEFORE LOOKING LIKE HE’S GOING FOR A TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER!!!

REY SWIVELS OUT THE BACK!!!

Mysterio pushes Dragon into the ropes, and when Dragon comes back, Mysterio lands a Drop Toe Hold which conveniently hangs Dragon up on the second rope. Sensing his chance, Mysterio dials it up… 619!!! The fans mark out for the big time move, as Dragon is sent flipping back to the centre of the ring. Rey’s poised on the apron, waiting, and as a dazzled Dragon gets back to his feet… MYSTERIO COMES FLYING OFF THE ROPES… WEST COAST POP!!!

REY HOLDS ON FOR THE COVER…1…2…3!!!

Winner: Rey Mysterio @ 07:12

A big pop goes up as the bell rings because the fans appreciate the Cruiserweight action that was just on display. An exhausted Mysterio gets to his feet, adjusting his mask, as always, before getting his hand raised by the official.

Enjoying the moment, Mysterio heads to the top rope to continue to celebrate with the fans, whilst Ultimo Dragon is forced to lick his wounds on the outside.

As he’s up on the top rope, Mysterio motions for the Cruiserweight Title to be around his waist, sending a pretty clear message to the champion, Chavo Guerrero.

But the story for tonight isn’t what may come, it’s that Mysterio looked impressive as hell, rebounding from the disappointment of Mania.

***
It’s almost main event time now but before we get there, we head to the Smackdown General Manager’s office, where sitting behind his desk, looking as smug as ever is PAUL HEYMAN. His appearance gets some heat from inside of the arena, and he just rolls his eyes, before clearing his throat.

Paul Heyman: Ladies and gentleman… I use those terms ever so loosely… Before we get on with tonight’s main event, I have a special treat for all of you people. I’ve organised a satellite connection with a man who was truly impressive at WrestleMania last Sunday, and a man who if all is right and just in the world, will be named the number one contender for the WWE Championship. From his home, put your filthy hands together for… BROCK LESNAR!!!

The titantron now comes to life with a new image, and it’s of a pretty generic living room, and sitting on one of the lazy boys is none other than BROCK LESNAR. The former WWE Champion seems to be in good spirits despite his loss at Mania.

Brock Lesnar: Thank you for the intro, Paul. Onto business, the reason why I’m not there in Boston tonight is because quite frankly, I didn’t need to be. I’ve taken a well-deserved night off because I’ve carried this brand ever since I got here. All you people know it, I know it, and being the smart, savvy businessman that he is, Paul Heyman knows it.

Major heat for Lesnar’s start, especially when he’s complimenting Heyman.

Brock Lesnar: I didn’t need to be there tonight because Paul Heyman hasn’t just given me the night off, he’s given me something else that I deserve. Paul Heyman has named me the number one contender in waiting for the WWE Championship and I want to make it clear now, this is a long overdue rematch from No Way Out. I dare somebody to draft me to Raw and try and take this away from me.

There’s some cheers from the fans at the idea of Brock being drafted.

Brock Lesnar: At Judgment Day, Eddie Guerrero will face me, his judge, jury and executioner. He will be judged and executed for stealing the WWE Title from me at No Way Out. Eddie didn’t beat me because he was the better man, he beat me because a man who I refuse to mention got involved and helped the lesser man win. At Judgment Day, that won’t happen.

As stone faced as ever, Brock is still cut deep about not being the champion.

Brock Lesnar: Now I’ll be back at Smackdown next week, so be ready for that, Eddie, but as for tonight, I’m just going to sit back, relax, and enjoy the main event.

Finally, Lesnar cracks the closest thing we’ve seen to even just a smirk from him, but he’s said all he wanted to. It’s now time for our final commercial break.

6 – Singles Match
Eddie Guerrero vs. John Cena

It’s a big match feel for this one, champion versus champion and the audience are at a fever pitch. Both men seem relatively calm, staring each other down, before Eddie puts out a hand. It seems he’s looking for a handshake but the US Champ surveys the audience, knowing that Guerrero is known for lying, cheating and stealing. Eventually, Cena relents, saying “I’M TRUSTIN’ YOU, DAWG”, before he accepts the handshake.

This gets another nice ovation from the fans, especially considering there’s a clean break from Guerrero. Finally, the two do lock up, with a Collar and Elbow Tie Up, and Cena immediately backs Eddie into the corner, demonstrating his strength advantage. They meet back in the centre of the ring and lock up a second time, but this time Eddie snaps in a Side Headlock, before going behind with a Hammerlock.

That’s right, shockingly we get some really basic chain wrestling, with Eddie clearly carrying Cena, until Cena’s able to fight out of a Headscissors and the two meet in the centre of the ring again. They have a standoff and the fans applaud yet again, whilst Eddie nods in respect, putting his hand out for another handshake. Having lowered his guard, Cena accepts the shake again… BUT THIS TIME EDDIE PULLS HIM IN TO A THUMB TO THE EYE!!!

If it was anybody else, they’d be getting mad heat right now, but because it’s Eddie, he gets cheered from the fans. With Cena blinded by the shot, the WWE Champion pounces, going to town with some forearms, softening up Cena. From here, Eddie keeps Cena on the mat, using pure wrestling and his technical advantage to stay on top. Focusing on the back for most of his offense, there’s even an awesome moment where EDDIE GETS CENA UP IN THE SURFBOARD SUBMISSION… BUT HE WAS UNABLE TO HOLD HIM UP LONG ENOUGH FOR CENA TO SUBMIT!!!

After being drilled with a Back Suplex, Cena rolls onto his stomach, still holding at his back. Wanting to end things relatively quickly, Eddie scales the top rope… LEAPING OFF WITH THE FROG SPLASH… CONNECTING WITH CANVAS!!!

CENA MANAGED TO ROLL OUT OF THE WAY!!!

Much to the dismay of ‘Latino Heat’, now it’s Cena’s turn to have a period of domination. It’s very different to when Guerrero dominated though, no technical wrestling now. Cena uses brute strength and his closed fists, a clear brawl heavy strategy against Guerrero. Cena gets pretty comfortable, keeping the WWE Champion down but he’s unable to put him away.

Realising how big this could be for his career, Cena eventually tried to end things… GETTING EDDIE ON HIS SHOULDERS FOR THE FU… ON THE WAY DOWN… EDDIE COUNTERS INTO A BIG TIME SWINGING DDT!!!

Both men are drenched in sweat, lying on the canvas in the middle of the ring, and the referee has no choice to begin counting out both men. The referee gets to seven when both men, with the aid of the ropes, manage to get to their feet. They meet in the centre of the ring and Eddie drills Cena with a forearm, but Cena immediately responds with a right hand. Eddie lands another forearm, but Cena again hits back with a right, and this one turns into an absolute slugfest.

Eddie, Cena, Eddie, Cena, Eddie, Cena, Cena, Cena… Until Eddie cuts off his momentum with a vicious European Uppercut which sends Cena down to the canvas. Having beaten Cena at his own game, Guerrero gets fired up, doing a little dance, showing some of his flare, before dragging Cena back up. The WWE Champion lands a few more strikes to the head, before sending Cena to the ropes… CLOTHESLINE FROM EDDIE!!!

NO… CENA DUCKS!!!

BLUE THUNDER BOMB FROM CENA TO GUERRERO!!!

Not for the first time in this match, both men are down, unable to bounce straight back to their feet. The referee begins counting them out again, but this time at eight, they make it to their feet. Eddie does look a little worse for wear, but suddenly Cena gets a shocked look on his face, and it’s easy to see why…

THE BIG SHOW IS STANDING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING!!!

SHOW PIE FACES CENA, SENDING HIM TUBMLING TO THE CANVAS!!!

Guerrero sees this and despite his exhausted, EDDIE RUNS AT SHOW… RUNNING STRAIGHT INTO A BIG BOOT!!!

With both competitors in the match being battered by Show, the referee has no choice but to wave off the contest.

No Contest @ 09:12

There’s plenty of heat from the fans, for The Big Show interfering but also for the match ending in a crappy circumstance. Big Show smirks at the fallen Guerrero, before he’s confronted again by Cena… GOOZLE!!!

BIG SHOW DRILLS CENA WITH A CHOKESLAM!!!

Big Show stands over both men, letting out a yell and showing his Chokeslam hand like only he can. Suddenly, there’s a stir from the audience and the boos get even louder, because dressed in his wrestling gear…

BROCK LESNAR jogs down the ramp and slides into the ring.

No strangers to each other in the past, Brock and Show stare at each other for a moment, before they nod… AND THE DUO BEGIN STOMPING ALL OVER EDDIE GUERRERO TOGETHER!!!

“WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE? BROCK LESNAR ISN’T EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE IN THE STATE?” – MICHAEL COLE

The two powerful giants continue to beat down on Cena and Guerrero until they are interrupted by…

???: Excuse me! What is this?

The duo stop the blows, and look up to the top of the ramp, where PAUL HEYMAN has appeared. The Smackdown GM has a confused look on his face.

Paul Heyman: What is this??? What is happening right now??? I’m sure that’s the question running through everybody’s mind right now, so let me answer it for you. You see, earlier in the night, I clearly stated that Eddie Guerrero would be going one on one with John Cena, but I’ve had a change of heart. I’ve decided that it’s not good business to give away a champion versus champion match on free television, therefore this is now becoming a tag team match. It will be Eddie Guerrero and John Cena TEAMING UP to face Brock Lesnar and The Big Show!!!

THUNDEROUS heat from the fans, whilst Heyman smirks, and Brock and Show laugh amongst themselves.

“WHOA, LOOKS LIKE HEYMAN IS LOOKIN’ AFTER HIS BOYS” – TAZZ

“THIS WAS A DAMN SET UP ALL ALONG” – MICHAEL COLE

He’s hesitant to do so but his boss barking orders, the referee has no choice but to arrange the bell to be rung to start the tag team main event.

7 – Tag Team Match
Brock Lesnar and The Big Show vs. Eddie Guerrero and John Cena

John Cena is basically out of it from the Chokeslam, so Show simply grabs him, rag dolls him, and throws him through the ropes and to the outside. Meanwhile, a smiling Brock drags Eddie to his feet… BUT GUERRERO SHRUGS BROCK OFF AND RUSHES HIM… NAILING SEVERAL RIGHT HANDS IN A ROW, DAZING BROCK MOMENTARILY!!!

Unfortunately, Show comes from behind with a blow to the back and that halts all of Eddie’s momentum. From there, a smirking Lesnar… POPS EDDIE UP ONTO HIS SHOULDERS… F5 FROM LESNAR TO GUERRERO!!!

Eddie’s down and out… SO BROCK HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…3!!!

Winners: Brock Lesnar and The Big Show @ 01:02

BROCK LESNAR HAS JUST PINNED THE WWE CHAMPION!!! The deck was clearly stacked in his advantage, and he barely had to break a sweat, but Lesnar has still beaten the WWE Champion.

Eddie is down inside of the ring, whilst Cena remains down on the outside. Meanwhile, the referee raises the victor’s hands in the air, only to be ushered out of the ring by Paul Heyman.

A smug look on his face, Heyman now raises Lesnar and Show’s hands in the air, getting an enormous amount of heat from the audience.

The boos continue but they don’t care, because if Heyman has Show and Lesnar by his side, and aligned, they could be unstoppable.

It’s a scary image of these three standing at the top, looking down at the rest of Smackdown…

Tazz wonders how Eddie will be able to deal with Lesnar, and all his advantages from Paul Heyman, whilst Michael Cole interestingly says everything could change after the draft…

And with that thought, and the image of the two baddest men on the roster, standing tall with the GM, we fade to black.

END OF SHOW

Week 2
March 22, 2004
Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan

Backstage Mr. McMahon stands in front of Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff, Bischoff flanked by his apprentice, Johnny Nitro. McMahon smirks "Alright, gentlemen, here’s how this is going to work," McMahon begins. "Each of you has a tumbler filled with names, and inside that tumbler are the names of every member of the opposite shows roster. You pull a name, and announce that name, that pick is final. No ifs, ands, or buts. And it doesn’t matter if the superstar is here tonight or not. ALL picks are final."

Bischoff, arms crossed, shoots a sharp look at McMahon. “Wait a minute! What about guys like Evolution, Shawn Michaels…Chris Benoit!? You can’t just–

McMahon cuts him off, raising his voice. "I said everyone is eligible! No exceptions. Evolution, champions, commentary! If their name is in that tumbler, they’re on the table. Now get out there! It’s time for the draft!" Bischoff clenches his jaw.
Heyman grins. What is gonna happen?!

Opening Video

Pyro

The camera pans over the rowdy, sold out crowd. The camera captures the sea of excited faces, eagerly anticipating the draft lottery. Suddenly, a graphic flashes across the screen, as the commentary team of Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler begin hyping up the match card for the night. “Tonight! The World Tag Team Championship is on the line!” says Jim Ross on commentary as the graphic shows Booker T and Rob Van Dam, the reigning champions, posed against their challengers, Mark Jindrak and Garrison Cade. “Mark Jindrak and Garrison Cade have had Booker T and Rob Van Dam’s number these last two weeks, picking up back-to-back victories over the champs!” Jerry Lawler chimes in, “JR, the momentum is definitely in their favor tonight! I think we could be looking at new tag champions after tonight!”

The graphic shifts, showcasing Chris Jericho set to face Christian. “And don’t forget, folks, Chris Jericho is out for revenge tonight,” JR says. “This rivalry between Jericho and Christian exploded at WrestleMania 20 when Trish Stratus shockingly turned on Jericho!” Lawler cuts in, “That was one of the most unexpected betrayals I’ve ever seen, JR. But Trish leveled up, and tonight, Jericho’s looking to settle the score!

The final graphic appears on the screen, revealing the highly anticipated World Heavyweight Championship match:
Chris Benoit vs. Triple H. “Last week, we didn’t know who Chris Benoit’s first challenger would be,” JR continues. “But after what went down at the end of Raw, Eric Bischoff announced on WWE.com that Triple H will be invoking his rematch clause! After that disgraceful attack that closed out RAW, you know Triple H will stop at nothing to reclaim his title!”

________________________

The camera transitions to a wide shot of the RAW Locker Room where the majority of the RAW roster awaits their fates, seated with a massive screen in front of them. Champions are sat in the front row :
Chris Benoit, Booker T and Rob Van Dam, and Victoria, while the rest of the roster is seated behind them. Intercontinental Champion Randy Orton is standing off to the side of the RAW locker room alone , the rest of Evolution is conspicuously absent. Triple H, Ric Flair, and Batista are nowhere to be seen, but Jim Ross quickly says on commentary that for the sake of the main event, and following the events of last week, Evolution is in their private locker room. Other noticeable absence, probably even more obvious by the way Chris Jericho is looking around, Trish Stratus and Christian are not there either.

________________________

The shot switches to reveal the SmackDown roster sat in a different locker room, but with the same setup. Eddie Guerrero, John Cena, Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty in the front row, with the rest of the roster behind them. Cruiserweight Champion Chavo Guerrero leans up against a wall away from the other champions. One name absent from this shot, however, is Brock Lesnar, who, notably, is not present tonight.

The camera finally transitions to the commentary table where the voices of RAW, Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler sit ready for the draft.

Jim Ross : Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Monday Night RAW, we are live for what is sure to be one of the biggest nights in WWE history! I’m Jim Ross, alongside my broadcast partner, Jerry 'The King' Lawler, and folks, the stakes couldn’t be higher tonight!

Jerry Lawler : That’s right, JR! We’ve got superstars from both RAW and SmackDown here tonight for the draft lottery, and who knows what kind of chaos is about to unfold! This could change everything! And I’m hearing we have some very special guests joining us tonight too, JR!

Jim Ross : Absolutely, King. This is the kind of night where careers can skyrocket or be completely turned upside down. Anything can happen, and I promise you, it probably will!

The camera cuts to a commentary table at ringside where SmackDown’s team, Michael Cole and Tazz, are seated. They look just as excited as the RAW team!

Michael Cole : What a night it’s going to be, folks! Welcome to Monday Night RAW for the WWE Draft, where SmackDown is here to shake things up just like RAW! I’m Michael Cole alongside my partner, Tazz, and we couldn’t be more excited for tonight!

Tazz : Oh, no doubt, Cole! Tonight, the whole landscape of WWE is about to change. Superstars, championships, everything’s up for grabs. It doesn’t get any bigger than this!

Michael Cole : This is what it’s all about. Both rosters are ready backstage, no one knows what’s going to happen! We are in for a wild ride, and I can’t wait to see who gets drafted where!

The camera pans back around the arena, the tension continues to build as the commentators finish their introduction, and the action is ready to kick off.

*YOU LOOK SO GOOD TO ME*

Rico
walks to the ring, still showing signs of his brutal encounter with Chris Jericho from last week. He walks slowly , and he winces slightly with each movement, his body still aching from the punishment. As he prepares for his match, the crowd buzzes with anticipation, knowing something big is about to go down.

*I’M BACK*

Suddenly, Eric Bischoff’s music hits, and the RAW General Manager strides out onto the stage with a smug smile. On either side of him, a large tumblers filled with names spin slowly, representing the draft picks for both RAW and SmackDown. He heads over to the RAW side.

*MENTAL*

Smackdown General Manager Paul Heyman emerges from the back, marching to his position on the Smackdown side with a smirk on his face.

Bischoff grabs a microphone and turns his attention to Rico in the ring. “Rico, I just want to say, I sincerely apologize for what happened to you last week against Chris Jericho,” he says, though his voice doesn’t actually sound that sympathetic. “But, to make it up to you, tonight you will be going one-on-one with the very first RAW draft pick!”

As Bischoff makes his way toward the tumbler,
Heyman interrupts. “Whoa, whoa, whoa! ” Heyman shouts, cutting Bischoff off in his tracks. “SmackDown won the coin toss Eric! Raw may get the first pick every other round, but that coin toss means that for the first round…I get to pick first.

Heyman’s eyes are gleaming. He reaches in, shuffling through the balls that contain names, building the anticipation. He pulls one out, and reads it to himself before “Ladies and gentlemen, as the very first pick of the 2004 draft lottery, Paul Heyman’s SmackDown drafts… Matt Hardy!” Heyman announces triumphantly.

From the commentary table, Michael Cole and Tazz explode with enthusiasm, trying to hype up the moment. “Matt Hardy! What a pick for SmackDown!” Cole exclaims, while Tazz adds, “Matt Hardy version 1, coming back to SmackDown baby!

Bischoff chuckles mockingly, clearly unfazed by the pick. “Matt Hardy? Really Paul? Well, let’s see how SmackDown handles this!” Bischoff reaches into the tumbler, and after a few moments, pulls out a name. His grin widens as he looks at the paper.

He starts laughing, holding the microphone up. “Oh, Paul, I hope you’re ready for a shock tonight. Because the very first pick for RAW is… The Big Show!
Heyman’s face drops as Bischoff laughs.

SmackDown might have Matt Hardy, but RAW just landed a giant!” Jim Ross declares on commentary.
Cole and Tazz are in disbelief on commentary, with Tazz muttering, “Oh man, RAW just got snatched literally one of the biggest smackdown superstars!!

Heyman's frustration boils over. “You can’t do this! Big Show is SmackDown property! He’s—

*BIG*

The sound of Big Show’s entrance music cuts Heyman off. The crowd has a mixed reaction as the seven-foot giant steps out from the back, wearing a cutoff SmackDown shirt. Big Show pauses at the top of the ramp. His eyes lock on Bischoff, then shift to Heyman. Big Show shakes his head in disappointment then grabs the collar of his SmackDown shirt and tears it off, tossing it towards Heyman. Bischoff can be heard laughing as Heyman watches, too stunned to speak. Big Show turns his attention toward the ring.

The Big Show versus Rico

Rico’s eyes narrowed as he stares across at the towering figure of The Big Show. The crowd murmurs, clearly anticipating a one-sided battle, but Rico seems determined. He bounces lightly on his feet, still in pain, but not backing down from the challenge.

The bell rings, and Rico charges forward, throwing a quick series of kicks at Big Show's legs. The giant barely flinches. Rico spins, trying to land a roundhouse kick to Big Show's midsection, but it barely makes a dent.

Big Show laughs, “Is that all you got?” he taunts, swatting Rico away like a fly. Rico stumbles, but quickly regains his balance, undeterred. He runs to the ropes, building momentum, and leaps at Big Show, hoping to take him off his feet with a crossbody.

But Big Show catches Rico mid-air. He holds him there, then hoists Rico above his head with both hands, before tossing him across the ring like a rag doll. Rico crashes to the mat, pain written across his face, but he struggles back to his feet.

Desperation fills Rico’s eyes as he goes for one last attempt. He ducks under a massive clothesline from Big Show, hitting the ropes again. This time, he aims a flying forearm at Big Show's face. The impact lands, but Big Show barely budges. Instead, he grabs Rico by the throat, lifting him high into the air.

Big Show roars then slams Rico down with a devastating Chokeslam. Rico lies motionless on the canvas. Big Show puts a foot on Rico’s chest as the referee counts the pin.

The Big Show defeated Rico by pinfall (1:37)

Big Show barely breaks a sweat as he raises his hand in victory, glancing down at Rico with a chuckle. "Nice try, kid," he says, before stepping out of the ring, leaving Rico in a heap.

Not for the first time in this match, both men are down, unable to bounce straight back to their feet. The referee begins counting them out again, but this time at eight, they make it to their feet.

BROCK LESNAR HAS JUST PINNED THE WWE CHAMPION!!! The deck was clearly stacked in his advantage, and he barely had to break a sweat, but Lesnar has still beaten the WWE Champion.

Eric Bischoff
is in his office, where he stands confidently next to a large TV monitor.
Paul Heyman stands next to him, arms crossed, looking irritated as he listens to Bischoff brag. Johnny Nitro and Jonathan Coachman lounge on a couch behind them, watching the exchange.

Eric Bischoff : I have to hand it to myself, Paul. Drafting The Big Show, one of SmackDown’s most dominant superstars, was a home run. SmackDown just got a whole lot smaller, and Raw... well, we just became unstoppable.

Heyman glares at Bischoff, unimpressed.

Paul Heyman : Calm down Eric, the draft isn’t over yet.

Bischoff laughs, he’s getting cocky.

Eric Bischoff : Do you even want the draft to continue, Paul? I mean, come on, maybe you’ll get another Matt Hardy while I keep stacking the RAW deck. Who knows who I’ll draft next!

As if on cue, the door flies open and Matt Hardy storms in, visibly fired up. Johnny Nitro immediately springs up from the couch, putting himself between Hardy and the two GMs. He holds out a hand and Hardy basically walks right into it

Johnny Nitro : Whoa, whoa, Hardy, where do you think you’re going?

Matt Hardy : Relax, Nitro. I’m not here to cause trouble, I just need to talk to Mr. Heyman.

Bischoff looks on, clearly amused by the interruption. He puts a hand on Nitro’s shoulder and Nitro steps out of Hardy’s way. Hardy steps closer, locking eyes with Heyman, who remains silent, but looks frustrated.

Matt Hardy : Paul, I just wanted to make sure you’re as pumped as I am about Matt Hardy, Version 1, coming back to the birthplace of Mattitude, Smackdown! It’s where I’ve always belonged man!"

Heyman looks extremely annoyed, and Bischoff chuckles, clearly enjoying Heyman’s discomfort.

Eric Bischoff : Wow, this is great! You know what, Matt? I’ve got an idea. Why don’t you get ready for a match tonight? Yeah, a match, you can show Heyman here some of that famous ‘Mattitude’ you keep going on about!

Hardy’s eyes light up with excitement and he starts nodding.

Matt Hardy : You bet I will! You’ll see! Tonight’s gonna be all about Matt Hardy, Version 1!

Hardy turns and exits the office, leaving Bischoff grinning. Johnny Nitro sits back down, watching Bischoff as he continues to gloat.

Eric Bischoff : Man, I love this job.

Heyman glares at Bischoff’s smug face, as Bischoff starts laughing.

Randy Orton strides through the backstage area, his Intercontinental Championship on his shoulder His steps slow as he approaches the Evolution locker room door. He takes a deep breath, then turns the handle and walks in.

Inside, Ric Flair, Batista, and Triple H are gathered, discussing something. As soon as Flair spots Orton, he jumps to his feet. He pulls Orton aside. "Randy! I told you to lay low for the night, didn’t I?" Flair's eyes are wide.

Orton shakes his head. "I don’t want to be out there with the rest of the RAW locker room. I want to be here, with my family, with Evolution."

Triple H stands up slowly, locking eyes with Orton. His expression is unreadable. "You want to be with your family? With Evolution?" He takes a step forward, his voice dropping low. "Or do you just want to be the leader of Evolution?"

Orton’s face drops. "No, it’s not like that," he starts, but Triple H cuts him off.

"I heard what you said last week, Randy." Triple H’s tone is filled with anger, but in a calm way? "About not needing me. So, tell me... Do you want to be in Evolution, or do you just want me out of the way so you can take over?"

Orton tries to recover. "That’s not what I meant, Hunter. I’m sorry, it came out wrong."

Triple H stares at Orton "You have a career because of me, Randy. And if you’re not careful, it’ll be because of me that you don’t have one."

There’s a tense silence, and Orton swallows, "I’m sorry. I want to be here, in Evolution . I need to be."

Triple H watches him for a long moment before a slow smile spreads across his face. He places a a hand on Orton’s shoulder. "Good. Then act like it."

*I’M BACK*

Eric Bischoff
steps out onto the stage, the same smug grin on his face. Bischoff walks confidently to his side, hands ready to draw names out of the tumbler.

*MENTAL*

Paul Heyman
storms out to the other side.

Bischoff smirks. "Guess it’s time to see who's coming to RAW," he declares, his voice confident.

Heyman interrupts, “Shut up and get on with it, Eric!”

Bischoff just chuckles, not phased by the outburst. He reaches into the RAW tumbler and pulls out a name, reading it to himself. His eyes light up. "Oh yeah, there’s potential here," Bischoff says, his excitement building. “RAW's second pick… is MATT MORGAN!"

The camera cuts to the SmackDown locker room, where Matt Morgan is sitting with a confident smirk. He nods his head, clearly ready to make the leap to Monday nights.

Jerry Lawler's voice bursts through the commentary. "That’s another huge pick for RAW!"

J.R. chimes in "A move to RAW could be exactly what this young man needs, King!"

The camera swings back to Heyman, who looks visibly irritated by the pick. Bischoff, always one to rub it in, says, "Can’t wait to see who you pick next, Paul. I know Steven Richards is still around!"

Heyman fake laughs. He reaches into the SmackDown tumbler, pulls out a name, and reads it to himself. A wicked grin spreads across his face. "Paul Heyman’s SmackDown welcomes… Rene Dupree!"

Immediately, the camera cuts to the RAW locker room, where La Resistance are losing it, throwing their arms in frustration and disbelief. Sylvain Grenier just came back last week, and now Dupree’s gone!?

Lawler yells into the mic, "La Resistance just reunited last week!"

On the other side of the announce table, Michael Cole and Tazz are buzzing with excitement, clearly thrilled about the pick for SmackDown.

"This is huge!" Tazz shouts. "Rene Dupree could be a game-changer for SmackDown!" Cole adds, "You got that right Tazz, Heyman just got Smackdown a big pick!"

Back on the stage, Bischoff takes a deep breath, clearly irritated. “Ok, ok, that one hurts a bit, but I think I’m on a roll here. Let’s draw another name!” He reaches into the tumbler once again, pulling out another name. This time, his expression shifts from happiness to confusion to annoyance. “RAW’s next draft pick is… the Basham Brothers.

The camera cuts to the SmackDown locker room again, where the Basham Brothers leap to their feet, high-fiving each other in excitement. Commentary tries to sell the moment as best they can. “The Basham Brothers could bring something new to RAW,” JR says, though his excitement isn’t quite there.

On stage, Heyman is chuckling. “How’s that roll holding up, Eric?

Bischoff glares at him. “Just draw a name already.”

Still laughing, Heyman reaches into the SmackDown tumbler, pulling out another slip of paper. He reads it, his expression shifting from mild interest to excitement . “You know, we probably should’ve saved this for later, Eric. Maybe I wouldn’t have drafted this next person.

Bischoff looks impatient. “Just say the name!

Heyman grins wickedly. “Paul Heyman’s SmackDown drafts… one half of the current World Tag Team Champions…ROB VAN DAM!

The camera cuts to the RAW locker room, where Rob Van Dam and Booker T are visibly upset. Booker shakes his head in disbelief while Van Dam looks stunned. On commentary, Tazz is beside himself. “RVD on SmackDown?! This is huge!

Back on stage, Bischoff is livid. “You can’t draft my champions, Heyman! Van Dam has a title match tonight!

Heyman shrugs. “Mr. McMahon said everyone, Eric, that means everyone.”

Furious, Bischoff storms off the stage, leaving Heyman smirking.

1726944063540-png.86126

Eric Bischoff is pacing furiously, his voice booming as he shouts at a young production assistant.

"Find Rob Van Dam and Booker T! They just left the RAW locker room! Where the hell did they go?" Bischoff screams, clearly frustrated.

Johnny Nitro stands beside him, shaking his head in disbelief. "I can’t believe RVD got drafted to SmackDown!" Nitro mutters.

Bischoff runs a hand through his hair, trying to figure out his next move when suddenly, La Résistance bursts onto the scene. Rob Conway,
René Duprée, and Sylvain Grenier are livid, yelling in a mix of French and English.

"Sylvain just came back last week!" Dupree shouts, practically spitting with anger. "Now they’re trying to separate us when we’re back to full power? This isn’t right!"

Sylvain steps forward, his face red. "What are you going to do to fix this, huh?" he demands, his French accent thickening with every word.

Bischoff, eyes darting between them, raises a hand. "I’ll look into it later! Right now, I need to find Van Dam and Booker T!" He gestures to Nitro, and the two of them hurry off, leaving La Résistance standing there, visibly fuming.

"What the hell?" Conway mutters, his eyes wide in disbelief. "We just got tossed aside?"

Dupree clenches his fists, but a voice from behind breaks the tense silence. "That’s not right," the voice says smoothly.

Dupree turns around to see Paul Heyman standing there, a smirk on his face. "Ditch these RAW guys for a bit," Heyman says, motioning toward Conway and Sylvain. "You and I, Dupree, have your future to discuss."

Dupree hesitates, looking conflicted, but he follows Heyman, leaving Sylvain and Conway standing there, their jaws practically on the floor, shocked at what just happened.

*MISS INDEPENDENT*

Miss Jackie
’s music hits, and the crowd cheers as she steps onto the stage, flanked by Stacy Keibler. Both women look fired up and determined, eyes locked on the ring. Stacy pats Jackie on the back, giving her some last words of encouragement as they make their way down the ramp. Jackie is focused, ready for revenge after last week’s ambush.

Jim Ross : Last week was downright despicable, King. Molly Holly blindsided Jackie and Stacy, but tonight Miss Jackie is looking for some well deserved payback!

Jerry Lawler : And with Stacy by her side, you’ve got to wonder if Molly Holly has bitten off more than she can chew this time!

The two women step into the ring, Jackie pacing around as Stacy takes her spot at ringside. The crowd is chanting for Jackie, eager to see her get her hands on Molly Holly.

*MOLLY HOLLY*

Suddenly, Molly Holly’s music blares throughout the arena. The crowd boos as Molly steps onto the stage, wearing her long blonde wig, which seems even more obvious under the arena lights. With a smug look on her face, Molly raises a hand to silence the crowd and a microphone is quickly passed to her.

Molly Holly : Hold on just a second! I know you’re all excited to see me, but unfortunately, there’s been a change of plans.

The crowd boos even louder, but Molly continues, unfazed.

Molly Holly : I just had a hair appointment today, and I’m sure none of you understand how expensive and delicate this kind of beauty is!

She strokes her wig dramatically, and the fans groan.

Molly Holly : So, after talking with Eric Bischoff, I’ve been granted the night off. I can’t afford for anything to happen to my long, beautiful hair… for at least the next 24 hours.

Stacy and Jackie exchange confused looks in the ring. The crowd is restless, clearly wanting to see Molly get what’s coming to her. But Molly isn’t done yet.

Molly Holly : But don’t worry, Jackie. I’ve found a suitable replacement. In fact, I’m welcoming back my best friend… Gail Kim!

*INTERNATIONAL WOMAN*

The fan reaction is mixed as Gail Kim’s music hits, and she steps out from behind the curtain. It’s her first appearance since being injured in November last year, Stacy and Jackie are shocked. Gail looks confident, with a devilish grin across her face. She exchanges a hug with Molly before walking towards the ring.

Jim Ross : My God, King! Gail Kim is back! We haven’t seen her in almost a year!

Jerry Lawler : And she’s walking down here like she never missed a step, JR! This matchup just took a turn!

Molly follows Gail to ringside, looking very pleased with herself. Gail slides into the ring, her eyes locked on Miss Jackie, who looks ready for a fight. Molly stands at ringside, smirking at Stacy.

Match Two
Singles Match

Miss Jackie w/Stacy Keibler versus Gail Kim w/Molly Holly

The bell rings, and Gail Kim wastes no time, darting towards Jackie with a lightning-quick forearm smash, catching her off guard. The two women lock up, but it’s clear that Gail’s speed is going to be a challenge for Jackie. Gail weaves in and out of Jackie’s grasp, hitting her with quick strikes and high-flying moves, while Molly cheers from the outside.

Jackie finally gets some offense in with a hard clothesline, dropping Gail to the mat. The crowd rallies behind her as she mounts a comeback, hitting Gail with a series of punches and a scoop slam. She looks ready to finish it, but on the outside, Molly suddenly goes after Stacy Keibler, shoving her into the barricade. The crowd boos as Stacy crashes hard, and Jackie, distracted by the commotion, turns her attention to the outside. This momentary lapse is all Gail Kim needs.

As Jackie turns back around, Gail Kim is ready. She leaps up and nails Jackie with her new finishing move the “Eat Defeat” driving her boot into Jackie’s face and sending her crashing to the mat. Gail hooks Jackie’s leg, and the referee counts the three.

Gail Kim defeated Miss Jackie by pinfall (4:37)

As Gail celebrates, Molly grabs a pair of hair clippers from under the ring. The crowd boos as she and Gail laugh together. Molly tosses the clippers from hand to hand as Gail starts dragging Jackie towards the center of the ring.

Jim Ross : Oh no! Not this…They’re going to cut Jackie’s hair!

Jerry Lawler : Molly’s obsessed with humiliating these women, JR!

Just as Molly goes to switch on the clippers, the crowd explodes as Women’s Champion Victoria sprints down the ramp, charging into the ring. Molly and Gail panic, and not wanting a repeat of last week, Molly quickly drops the clippers and retreats. She leaps over the barricade and into the crowd, with Gail Kim not far behind.

Victoria checks on Jackie as the crowd cheers. Stacy, recovering from the earlier attack, slides into the ring to join them. The three women stand tall, with Victoria holding up Jackie’s hand in solidarity, while Molly and Gail look on from the crowd, furious.

Jim Ross : Once again, Victoria to the rescue! Molly Holly just can’t seem to get the upper hand when Victoria’s around!

Jerry Lawler : But how long can this last, JR? Molly doesn’t seem like she’s going to stop, and now that Gail Kim is back, she’s even more dangerous!

Rob Van Dam and Booker T are standing in the backstage area, the World Tag Team Championships slung over their shoulders. Both are tense.

RVD shakes his head. “Man, I can’t believe I got drafted to SmackDown. This sucks. What’s gonna happen after we defend the titles tonight?

Booker T, visibly frustrated, runs a hand over his face. “Yeah, dawg, this is messed up. We’ve been killin’ it as champs, and now this? Ain’t right.

Suddenly, Eric Bischoff, accompanied by Johnny Nitro, strides into the frame with a smug smile on his face. Bischoff crosses his arms, eyeing them both before he speaks.

Well, Rob, you don’t have to worry about what’s happening next,” Bischoff says coldly, his eyes narrowing. “Because you’re no longer a RAW superstar.

RVD’s face drops but before he can say anything, Bischoff holds up a hand, cutting him off. “I’m going to need you both to hand over the Tag Team Titles,” Bischoff demands. “You’re stripped of the championships. I can’t have the World Tag Team Titles going to SmackDown.

RVD clenches his fists, visibly angry, while Booker steps forward, refusing to back down. “Hell no!” Booker T growls, shaking his head. “We worked too hard to get these championships, man. We ain’t giving them up without a fight!

Bischoff’s smile fades for a second, his eyes narrowing, but then he breaks into a grin. “Okay, Booker,” Bischoff says, stepping closer. “You don’t want to listen to me? Fine. RVD is a SmackDown superstar, he’s no longer champion, he’s out. But you can defend the tag team titles… on your own.

Booker’s eyes widen. “What?”

That’s right,” Bischoff says. “Your match tonight against Mark Jindrak and Garrison Cade? It’s now a handicap match. Good luck, champ.

Bischoff turns, walking away with Nitro in tow, leaving Booker T and RVD standing there, speechless.

Graphics flash across the screen, showing the draft picks so far. The first RAW pick: The Big Show, standing tall and menacing. Next up is Matt Morgan, the powerhouse who’s sure to make an impact. Then come The Basham Brothers, the tag team specialists ready to bring their underhanded tactics to Monday nights.

Over on SmackDown’s side, the first pick is none other than Matt Hardy, flashing the “V1” sign, ready to embark on a new chapter. Then it’s Rene Dupree, the arrogant Frenchman. But the biggest shocker is the pick of Rob Van Dam, who was until moments ago, one half of the World Tag Team Champions, who now finds himself traded to SmackDown.

JR and Jerry “The King” Lawler look on from commentary, their voices filled with shock and excitement.

Can you believe this, King? The Big Show and Matt Morgan on RAW? Monday nights just gotten bigger!” JR exclaims.

Oh, it’s huge, JR,” Lawler responds with a grin. “But what about SmackDown? They got Rob Van Dam! He’s was World Tag Team Champion before Mr. Bischoff just stripped him of his title!”

Over on SmackDown’s side, Michael Cole and Tazz are equally stunned.

RVD on SmackDown, Tazz!” Cole says in disbelief. “This changes everything, but I can’t believe Bischoff just took his championship away from him! That coulda been huge for smackdown!”

No doubt about it, Cole,” Tazz replies. “But don’t sleep on Rene Dupree or Matt Hardy. SmackDown’s not just getting talent, it’s getting future champions.

The camera cuts backstage, where Josh Matthews stands by with a microphone in hand.

Josh Matthews : Ladies and gentlemen, joining me now is one of RAW’s newest draft picks—Matt Morgan!

The camera pans over to reveal the towering figure of Matt Morgan, who glares confidently into the camera.

Josh Matthews : Matt, you’ve just been drafted to Monday Night RAW. What can we expect from you here on RAW?

Matt Morgan smirks, folding his arms across his chest.

Matt Morgan : Expect domination. Expect destruction. Expect every single buzzword you can think of that means I’m about to tear through this roster. It doesn’t matter who you are. I’m going straight to the top, and there’s nothing anyone can do to stop me.

With that, Morgan walks off.

*BREAK THE WALLS DOWN*

Chris Jericho
’s music hits, and he storms down the ramp. He looks ready to tear the place apart, fists clenched as he slides into the ring, and immediately the fans sense the tension. Jericho paces, glaring at the entrance, waiting for Christian. His WrestleMania rematch is tonight, and Jericho is mad as hell.

*PROBLEM SOLVER*
{Was that really the title of his theme before Just Close Your Eyes? Cause seems like google is lying but everywhere said it}

Christian’s music blasts through the speakers, but no one steps out. Jericho waits a few seconds, eyes locked on the stage, but still, nothing. The music fades, and Jericho starts to shake. He snatches a microphone from ringside.

Where the hell is he?!” Jericho shouts into the mic, “Christian, you coward! What are you, scared to face me? After what happened at WrestleMania, you know I’m gonna kick your ass tonight!” Jericho pauses, pacing the ring as the crowd cheers him on. “Get out here!” he demands.

Still, no sign of Christian.

Jericho smirks, shaking his head. He decides to use a different approach. “Typical Christian. Too scared to show up. And Trish? We all know why she’s with him! Because Trish Stratus is nothing but a—

*TIME TO ROCK AND ROLL*

Before he can finish, Trish’s music hits, cutting him off. The crowd boos loudly as Trish Stratus appears at the top of the ramp, smiling, clearly enjoying Jericho’s frustration. She’s dressed in a sleek outfit, confidently strolling onto the stage with a microphone in hand.

Name-calling? Really, Chris?” Trish says mockingly. “That’s a bit childish, don’t you think? And for the record, I’m not a slut. I’m a one-man kind of woman.” She pauses. “And Christian? He’s all the man I need—way more man than you could ever be, Chris.”

Jericho is livid. “If Christian’s such a big man, then where is he, huh? Where’s that creepy little bastard hiding?”

Trish pulls a folded piece of paper from her back pocket and holds it up. “Oh, I’m so glad you asked, Chris. You see, I have a doctor’s note right here.” She waves the paper. “Christian, unfortunately, can’t compete tonight. Things got a little… rough during our time in New York.” She laughs at her own innuendo.

Jericho is ready to snap. “I don’t care what’s on that paper! I’m kicking his ass, whether it’s here, or if I have to drag his ass out of whatever hole he’s hiding in!

Before Jericho can continue, the sound of someone clearing their throat cuts him off, and SmackDown General Manager Paul Heyman steps out onto the stage. Jericho looks confused as to why Heyman is out here now. Heyman has a smirk on his face as he surveys the scene.

Chris, Chris, Chris,” Heyman begins, shaking his head, “I’ve been listening to this back in my office, and I have to say… while I too would love to see you tear Christian apart, maybe you need to calm down, just a little bit.”

Jericho cuts Heyman off. “Listen Heyman, why don’t you take your walrus-looking ass back to SmackDown before something bad happens to you?

Heyman’s smirk grows wider. “I was hoping you’d say something like that, Jericho,” Heyman says. “While Eric Bischoff is running around backstage dealing with his little tag team troubles, I know Mr. McMahon would want the show to go on so I’ve decided to take it upon myself to make a match. Chris… stay right where you are, because even though Christian is apparently indisposed, you will have a match tonight.

Jericho glares at Heyman, confused but not backing down.

Heyman steps forward. “Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce… a man who’s going to rip Jericho apart, a man from right here in Detroit, Michigan…Smackdown’s very own.. the MANBEAST… RHYNO!

*TUSK…V2*

The crowd erupts as Rhyno’s music hits, getting the hometown pop, and the powerhouse charges out from backstage. Heyman stands at the top of the ramp, smiling, as Rhyno storms to the ring. Trish, not wanting to miss Jericho’s potential beating, quickly follows down the ramp behind Rhyno. Jericho drops the mic and readies himself as Rhyno slides into the ring.

Match Three
Singles Match
Chris Jericho versus Rhyno w/Trish Stratus

They lock up in the center of the ring, and immediately, Rhyno uses his power to shove Jericho backward, sending him crashing into the ropes. Jericho quickly rebounds, charging back at Rhyno with a flurry of forearm shots. Rhyno barely flinches, but Jericho’s speed keeps him on the offensive. He hits the ropes again, this time leaping into the air for a flying forearm smash that finally staggers Rhyno.

Jericho takes control, hitting quick strikes and following up with a dropkick that knocks Rhyno to the mat. Jericho glances at Trish Stratus, who’s at ringside, glaring at him. He smirks but doesn’t lose focus, bouncing off the ropes for momentum and dropping an elbow onto Rhyno. Just as Jericho goes for a lionsault, Trish yells something at him, causing Jericho to glance her way. That split-second distraction allows Rhyno to roll out of the way, and Jericho crashes hard to the mat.

Rhyno seizes the moment, using his power to lift Jericho up into a brutal belly-to-belly suplex. Rhyno doesn’t waste time, he grabs Jericho and hurls him into the corner, following up by charging at him and driving his shoulder into Jericho’s midsection, knocking the wind out of him. Jericho crumples, and Rhyno starts to dominate, wearing him down with elbows to the back.

1726944063540-png.86126

As the match progresses, Jericho starts to rally. He fights out of Rhyno’s grasp to hit an enzuigiri, sending Rhyno stumbling backwards. Rhyno rolls out of the ring to recover, but Jericho quickly follows. Trish mocks him from the outside, clapping sarcastically and shouting insults. Jericho glares at her, momentarily distracted again, and that gives Rhyno time to recover. Rhyno drives Jericho into the barricade with a hard shoulder tackle, taking control once more.

Back in the ring, Rhyno continues to pummel Jericho but Jericho fights back. He ducks a wild clothesline from Rhyno and counters with a drop toe hold, sending Rhyno face-first into the middle turnbuckle. Jericho quickly goes for a pin, but Rhyno kicks out at two.

Jericho, frustrated, locks in the Walls of Jericho. The crowd erupts as Rhyno writhes in pain, trying to drag himself to the ropes. Just as Rhyno looks like he might tap, Trish jumps up onto the apron, screaming at Jericho.

Jericho, furious, lets go of the hold and storms over to confront her. Trish immediately hops back down to the floor, smirking at Jericho as he shouts at her. The distraction lasts only a moment, but it’s all Rhyno needs.

Jericho turns back to Rhyno, who’s still down. He runs towards the ropes for the Lionsault. As Jericho flips off the ropes, Rhyno rolls out of the way at the last second. Jericho manages to land on his feet but stumbles, trying to regain his balance. As he does, Rhyno charges forward driving through Jericho with a massive GORE for the win.

Rhyno defeated Chris Jericho by pinfall (12:17)

Trish Stratus smirks from ringside, pleased with her handiwork. Jericho lies on the mat, clutching his midsection, anger clear on his face as Rhyno has his hand raised by the referee.

Paul Heyman stands in the back, arms crossed, watching the monitor as Rhyno celebrates his victory over Chris Jericho. From behind, Eric Bischoff storms up.

Who the hell do you think you are, Heyman?” Bischoff yells. “Making matches on my show?”

Heyman turns slightly to glance at Bischoff. “Oh, I was just trying to keep your superstars happy, Eric,” Heyman says. “You seemed a little… preoccupied with your tag team troubles.

Bischoff’s face tightens. “There are no troubles,” he says. “I talked to Cade and Jindrak. They’re definitely winning the World Tag Team Championships tonight.

Heyman chuckles. “Well, congratulations,” he says, the sarcasm thick. “Are we going to get on with this draft, or what?

Bischoff, visibly agitated, pushes his hair back. “Yes,” he says, glaring at Heyman. “We are.

Elsewhere, Terri is standing by with the World Heavyweight Champion
Chris Benoit, who sports a bandage on his forehead where he was busted open last week, as well as a BRAND NEW 4Real t shirt.

Terri: Chris, tonight you face Triple H. Now, we all know Evolution always plays the numbers game. How do you plan to combat their advantage, and do you really think you can walk out with a victory?

Chris Benoit: Last week, they threw their numbers at me, and I’m still here. Triple H? He busted me open, and I’m still here. I’ve been through everything they’ve thrown at me, and I’m still standing. Every week, week in and week out, I’m going to prove that what I did wasn’t a fluke. My win was real. CHRIS BENOIT IS.. for real. (He points at his “4 Real” shirt.) And tonight, I’m walking in tonight as champion, and I’m walking out, still champion.

Benoit turns to walk away but then stops in his tracks as he nearly bumps into someone. The camera pans over, revealing Shawn Michaels standing right behind him.

Shawn Michaels: Like I told you last week, Chris. I’ve got your back tonight with Evolution… as long as you remember, when it’s all said and done…I’m coming for that title.

Benoit and Michaels lock eyes before Benoit gives a nod, acknowledging the challenge. He walks away, leaving Michaels watching him with a smirk.

A video package plays, showing highlights of WrestleMania, however this one has a particular focus on the return of THE UNDERTAKER.

“THE UNDERTAKER RETURNS TO SMACKDOWN… THIS THURSDAY”

In the arena, it’s time to draft again. Eric Bischoff stands on one side of the stage.
Opposite him is Paul Heyman, arms crossed.

Bischoff chuckles, his voice full of sarcasm as he says, “Gee Paul, it sure would be a shame if you put all that marketing budget into promoting The Undertaker’s big return on SmackDown this week… just for him to get drafted to RAW.”

Heyman smirks. “You know what, Eric? I’m ready to get the hell out of here. I’m sick of you.

Bischoff reaches into the tumbler and pulls out a name. Before even looking at it, he starts, “RAW’s fourth draft pick is—” He pauses for effect, glancing down at the name, and his eyes widen. He begins to laugh. “This could be the biggest pick of the whole draft! RAW’s fourth pick is… OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST, KURT ANGLE!

Heyman’s face remains neutral, watching Bischoff. Bischoff, noticing the lack of reaction, sneers at him. “What’s the matter, Paul? You need me to repeat myself? You should be more upset. I’m taking one of your top guys!

Heyman lets Bischoff gloat for a moment longer before he calmly interjects, “Eric, why don’t you reread that pick?

Bischoff looks confused. “What the hell are you talking about? It says Kurt Angle!

Read it again,” Heyman insists, almost amused.

Bischoff looks down at the paper and reads aloud, “Kurt Angle… I-R?” He looks up, confused. “What the hell does ‘I-R’ mean?

Heyman smiles. “It means you did draft Kurt Angle, Eric. But unfortunately for you, he’s on the Injured Reserve list. He’s going to be out for quite some time…nagging injuries, all that stuff.

Bischoff’s face falls. Heyman lets out a low chuckle. “Tough break, Eric.”

Still reeling, Bischoff stands frozen as Heyman draws his next pick. Heyman’s face lights up as he reads the name to himself, a devilish smile spreading. “Let’s move things along, shall we?” Heyman laughs as he turns his attention back to Bischoff. “Hey Eric, what match is next?

Bischoff, still trying to process his pick, mutters, “The Tag Team Title match.

Heyman’s grin widens. “Ah yes, the one where you’re guaranteed Jindrak and Cade are walking out champions, right?

Bischoff, trying to regain control of the situation, snaps back, “YES, because thanks to you, Rob Van Dam and Booker T can’t be champions!

Heyman chuckles. “Well, good luck with that… Let’s bring out SmackDown’s next draft picks. Ladies and gentlemen, your soon-to-be new World Tag Team Champions… MARK JINDRAK AND GARRISON CADE!

The color drains from Bischoff’s face as the realization hits him. He’s in shock.

*TUNNEL VISION*

On cue, Jindrak and Cade step out onto the stage, looking uncertain, glancing over at Bischoff. But Bischoff is paralyzed, unable to react.

Heyman, grinning from ear to ear, walks over to the two superstars, shakes their hands, and hands them SmackDown shirts. “Go bring some gold back to SmackDown!” he tells them confidently.

Jindrak and Cade exchange hesitant glances but begin walking towards the ring, still unsure of what just happened. Bischoff, meanwhile, hasn’t moved an inch, as Heyman looks over and laughs.

*CAN YOU DIG IT*

World Tag Team Champion
Booker T steps out onto the stage, both championship belts draped over his shoulders. Eric Bischoff still hasn’t moved, frozen after losing Jindrak and Cade.

Jim Ross on commentary is quick to remind the audience “Earlier tonight, Eric Bischoff stripped Rob Van Dam of his half of the World Tag Team Titles in a desperate move to keep the gold on RAW. But in doing so, he may have just handed both championships to SmackDown’s newest acquisitions, Jindrak and Cade!

Booker T walks over to Bischoff. He stops in front of the RAW General Manager and shakes his head in disappointment. Bischoff opens his mouth, but no words come out. Booker leans and says “You shouldn’t have tried to screw me, dawg. Now, you might’ve lost us both these titles.” Bischoff, speechless and visibly sweating, stands helpless as Heyman laughs.

Booker T ©️ versus Mark Jindrak and Garrison Cade

The bell rings and Booker T wastes no time, charging at Cade with a series of stiff right hands. Cade stumbles into the ropes as Booker whips him across the ring and delivers a thunderous clothesline. Jindrak rushes in to aid his partner, but Booker is ready, dodging Jindrak’s attack and flooring him with a spinning heel kick. The crowd cheers as Booker raises his arms, full of confidence after his explosive start.

But the numbers game soon begins to play a role. Cade recovers and takes advantage of a distracted Booker, hitting him from behind with a cheap shot. Jindrak and Cade start to work in tandem, double-teaming Booker in their corner. Cade holds Booker in place as Jindrak delivers a series of body blows, wearing the champion down. Booker, though, shows his resilience and fights back, throwing elbows to escape. He takes down Cade with a dropkick and nails Jindrak with a jumping forearm.

1726944063540-png.86126

As Booker goes for a scissors kick, Cade pulls Jindrak out of harm’s way. The duo quickly regain control, using quick tags and double-team maneuvers to wear down the tag champion. They keep Booker down, grounding him with a series of suplexes and knee drops. Booker attempts to rally several times, but every time he gains momentum, Cade and Jindrak find a way to bring him down again.

In one exchange, Booker manages to hit a spinebuster on Cade, and the crowd erupts as Booker begins his signature Spinaroonie! But just as he’s getting up, Jindrak blindsides him with a vicious boot to the face. The momentum swings back to the challengers, and Cade and Jindrak sense victory is near.

Booker fights back one last time, catching Cade with a Book End out of nowhere, but before he can capitalize, Jindrak is there to pull Cade out of harm’s way once again. Booker sets up Cade for the Scissors Kick, the crowd on their feet, but just before he can deliver the blow, Jindrak shoves Booker hard, causing him to crash into the referee, knocking the official down.

With the referee incapacitated, Cade and Jindrak see their chance and both pounce on Booker T. They begin a vicious beatdown, stomping away at the champion As the fans boo, Cade and Jindrak signal for the end, setting Booker up for a Doomsday Device type move.

But just as Jindrak climbs to the top rope, Rob Van Dam’s music hits and the crowd explodes! RVD sprints down the ramp and leaps onto the apron. Without hesitation, Van Dam springboards off the top rope, delivering a perfectly timed side kick to the face of Jindrak, sending him crashing to the mat below!

Cade turns his attention to Van Dam, furious at the interference, and the two start to brawl. Cade gets the upper hand momentarily, but in the chaos, he turns around straight into Booker T, who lifts him up and plants him with a devastating Book End!

Van Dam leaps to the top turnbuckle, and the fans know what’s coming next. RVD hits the Five Star Frog Splash on Cade.

As Van Dam rolls out of the ring, Booker T drags himself over to the downed Cade, hooks the leg, and just as the referee comes to, he makes the three-count!

Booker T defeated Mark Jindrak and Garrison Cade by pinfall (10:47)

The crowd roars with cheers as Van Dam joins Booker in the ring, the two friends celebrating together as Jindrak and Cade are left frustrated on the outside.

________________________________

Paul Heyman stands, eyes glued to a monitor. On it, Rob Van Dam and Booker T are celebrating in the middle of the ring, their arms raised high as the crowd cheers. Heyman’s face is red and he looks livid.

Eric Bischoff, stands beside him, breathes loudly a sigh of relief, as he starts to smirk. He lets out a soft chuckle, crossing his arms.

Well, Paul,” Bischoff says, “it looks like one of SmackDown’s newest superstars just cost your brand some championships.” He glances sideways at Heyman. “Better get your house in order.”

Heyman rolls his eyes, and mockingly laugh. “Oh, please,” he says. “I can’t wait for this night to be over.

Without another word, Heyman storms out of the office, the door slamming shut behind him. Bischoff continues to chuckle.

Jonathan Coachman is standing outside the Smackdown locker room.

Jonathan Coachman : What a night it’s been so far! Especially for Raw! Matt Morgan, The Big Show, Kurt Angle?! It’s quite clear that my boy Eric Bischoff is a genius. This is why Raw is the number o-

The Coach is left startled, as the door of the room behind him slams open into the wall, and a frustrated EDGE storms out. As Edge brushes past Coach, the announcer tries to get the scoop.

Jonathan Coachman : Edge, Edge, I know you’re a Smackdown guy, at least right now, but what are your thoughts on some of the picks RAW has acquired so far, maybe Kurt Angle? A man you’ve dealt with frequently, coming over to the flagship show, the number one show, The Coach’s show, Monday Night Raw?

Edge is in a mood, not looking impressed, but Coach is oblivious as he smirks.

Edge : First of all, “Coach”, I suggest you straighten up and wipe that arrogant look off your face before I slap it off.

BIG pop from the fans inside the arena, as Coach urgently drops the attitude.

Edge : I’ve got a lot of pent-up aggression right now. I haven’t been in that ring in fourteen months, that’s FOURTEEN LONG MONTHS! And after what happened on Smackdown last week, Kurt Angle was number one on my list of people to take that aggression out on.

The Canadian shakes his head, still looking annoyed.

Edge : Not only because he’s an asshole, but also because he was at the top of the list of the suspects who could have taken me out back at No Way Out last year.

A pause and a quick shake of the head from Edge.

Edge : I wanted to get my hands on him and beat a confession out of him. Now that’s not gonna’ happen and I’m gonna’ have to take him on his word that he didn’t do it. That’s a pivot for me, it’s not something I expected and it pisses me off.

The Coach swallows hard, fearing the intensity of Edge.

Edge : So right now, yeah Coach, I’m mad, but at the end of tonight, regardless of which brand I’m on, I’ll go home, recalibrate, and I WILL find the son of a bitch that took me out. Interview over…

The Coach remains standing in a spot, as Edge’s eyes go wide and he signals Coach should go now, and then The Coach quickly scurries away. Edge begins pacing back and forth, not in the greatest of moods, and there could still be more twists and turns in tonight’s show…

*LIVE FOR THE MOMENT*

Matt Hardy
steps through the curtain, his signature V1 hand sign raised high. He looks determined as he makes his way down the ramp, slapping hands with fans along the aisle.

Jim Ross : It’s been an emotional night, and it’s about to get even more so as Matt Hardy makes his final appearance tonight before heading to SmackDown!

Jerry Lawler : You know he’s got a lot to prove. Paul Heyman’s watching, and Matt wants to show that he’s a good pick!

Hardy enters the ring, climbing the turnbuckle and posing for the fans one last time on RAW. He drops down, pacing the ring, looking focused.

*DELIRIOUS*
{Who the fuck comes up with these song names? I’m changing them all on the next show}

Matt Morgan steps through the curtain, and storms towards the ring. Focused. Ready.

Jim Ross : And here he is, RAW’s newest monster, Matt Morgan! King, I don’t think Matt Hardy knows what he’s gotten himself into tonight.

Jerry Lawler : If I were Hardy, I’d be having second thoughts right about now. This man looks like he’s here to make a statement!

Matt Morgan reaches the ring, climbing up onto the apron with ease before stepping over the top rope. He glares at Matt Hardy, who looks slightly concerned but tries to hide it. The commentators continue discussing how Hardy may have bitten off more than he can chew.

Matt Morgan versus Matt Hardy

Hardy is standing his ground despite the obvious size difference as Morgan cracks his knuckles, looking ready to unleash destruction.

The bell rings, and Hardy rushes in quickly, delivering a few stiff forearms to Morgan’s face. The shots seem to stun Morgan for a moment, but the big man shakes it off.

Hardy keeps the momentum going, bouncing off the ropes and landing a dropkick to Morgan’s knee. Morgan buckles slightly but doesn’t go down. Hardy runs the ropes again, this time hitting a clothesline, but it has little effect on the larger Morgan. Hardy launches another barrage of punches to Morgan’s head and body. He tries for a neckbreaker, but Morgan shrugs him off, sending Hardy stumbling back.

Morgan charges Hardy, looking for a big clothesline of his own, but Hardy ducks under. Hardy quickly kicks Morgan in the mid section, and goes for a Twist of Fate, but Morgan shoves him hard into the corner. Hardy, feeling the impact, rolls out of the ring to the floor, clearly needing a moment to regroup.

Hardy walks around the outside. He waves off the referee, who begins counting him out. Morgan, growing impatient, steps over the top rope and drops to the outside. Hardy, seeing the massive Morgan coming, slides back into the ring quickly. Morgan follows, but Hardy is on him immediately, delivering a flurry of stomps as Morgan slides under the bottom rope.

Hardy now senses an opening. He rebounds off the ropes again, trying to hit a running crossbody, but Morgan catches him in mid-air. With ease, Morgan lifts Hardy up and slams him down hard on the mat. Hardy cries out on the mat in pain as Morgan finally takes control of the match.

Morgan pulls Hardy up by the hair before launching him into the corner. He follows up with a huge corner splash, crushing Hardy between the turnbuckle and his massive frame. Hardy stumbles out of the corner but Morgan isn’t done. He grabs Hardy by the throat, hoisting him up for a chokeslam, but Hardy, in desperation, starts throwing wild elbows, forcing Morgan to drop him.

Hardy tries to mount a comeback, bouncing off the ropes one last time, but as he charges at Morgan, he’s met with a devastating big boot. Morgan picks Hardy off the ground and drills him back down with a move Tazz on commentary says he heard Morgan call “The Hellevator”. Hardy is lifeless, as Morgan goes for the cover.

Matt Morgan defeated Matt Hardy by pinfall (4:43)

Morgan celebrates his dominant RAW debut as Hardy rolls out of the ring.

Backstage, The Big Show stands with his arms crossed, with Doug and Danny Basham, the Basham Brothers. All three are recent draft picks from SmackDown to RAW. They talk quietly among themselves.

Suddenly, Jonathan Coachman walks up, a smug grin on his face, with Johnny Nitro by his side. Coachman, dressed sharply, straightens his tie as he approaches, his tone all business.

Jonathan Coachman : Well, well, well. If it isn’t RAW’s newest acquisitions. I’m Jonathan Coachman, Eric Bischoff’s personal assistant. And I’m here to make something perfectly clear.

He steps in closer.

Jonathan Coachman : Here on RAW, we don’t accept mediocre. We don’t accept losses. You three better bring it, or you’ll be back on SmackDown, or gone for good, faster than you got here.

Big Show chuckles, he steps forward, towering over Coachman.

Big Show : Did you catch my match earlier, Coach? I brought it. Ain’t nobody here gonna doubt that.

Doug and Danny Basham exchange a glance, Doug speaks first, while Danny nods in agreement.

Doug Basham : All we need is a shot. Give us that, and we’ll prove we belong here.

Danny Basham : Yeah, we didn’t get drafted here to sit around. We’re ready.

Coachman raises an eyebrow, looking them over. A slow, approving smile spreads across his face.

Jonathan Coachman : That’s exactly what the boss would want to hear.

He turns to Johnny Nitro, who nods in agreement, before looking back at the trio.

Jonathan Coachman : Good. Keep that attitude, and you might just survive around here.

With that, Coachman gives one final glance at Big Show, who is still smirking, and the Bashams, who stand ready. He and Nitro turn and walk away, leaving the three men to process the exchange. The camera lingers on Big Show, who looks down at the Bashams.

Big Show : He better watch who he talks to like that…”

The Bashams exchange a look.

The camera cuts to a split-screen shot of Eric Bischoff and
Paul Heyman, both walking down separate hallways.

Jim Ross : Folks, tonight’s draft has been nothing short of monumental! And now, we’re down to the final picks of the night. Eric Bischoff is about to make one last pick for RAW. But who’s it gonna be, King?

Jerry Lawler : I don’t know, JR, but after everything we’ve seen tonight, I’m excited to see who it is!

Michael Cole : Tazz, I’ve gotta say, Paul Heyman has been on a role, with his picks he’s turned SmackDown into a force to be reckoned with. Who do you think will be the final pick?

Tazz : Cole, after everything that’s happened tonight, I don’t even want to guess, but I’m tellin’ ya, these final picks could change the entire landscape of WWE!

*I’M BACK*

Eric Bischoff
steps onto the stage. He grabs a microphone and begins to address the crowd.

Tonight has been huge for RAW,” Bischoff says, pacing the stage. “Let’s recap the picks so far. The Big Show, Matt Morgan, Kurt Angle, and The Basham Brothers are now part of RAW!” He smirks. “Mr. McMahon said this draft was going to shake things up—and sure, it might. But one thing will never change.” Bischoff pauses, then declares, “Eric Bischoff’s RAW will always be the premiere WWE show, each and every week!

*MENTAL*

Paul Heyman strides out, mockingly clapping as he joins Bischoff on the stage. “Wow, Eric, what a speech!” Heyman grins. “It almost brought a tear to my eye. But let’s talk about the real talent. SmackDown’s draft picks—Mark Jindrak, Garrison Cade, Matt Hardy, Rene Dupree, and Rob Van Dam. The best of RAW’s up-and-comers, all heading to SmackDown after tonight!

Bischoff rolls his eyes and waves his hand. “I’m done with you, Heyman. Let’s get to business. It’s time to find out who the final RAW draft pick of the night will be!” He turns to the tumbler, reaches in, and pulls out a name. With a grin, he announces, “RAW’s final draft pick is… BRADSHAW!

The camera cuts to the SmackDown locker room, where Bradshaw and Faarooq sit in shock. Bradshaw stands up and whips his chair across the room at the walll “AGAIN?! They’re splitting us up in a draft again?! This is bull!” He storms out of the locker room as the camera cuts back to the stage.

Heyman chuckles, “Ooh, that doesn’t look good, does it, Eric? I’ve seen Bradshaw when he’s angry..sucks to be you.” He steps toward the tumbler on his side of the stage. “But now it’s my turn.” Before Heyman can draw a name…

*WORD LIFE*

John Cena’s music blares through the arena. The crowd erupts as the United States Champion makes his way out. Bischoff, visibly frustrated, yells, “What the hell is going on here?

Cena grins, “You can’t see me!” He struts over to Heyman, who’s shouting at him to go back to the locker room. Ignoring him, Cena reaches into the tumbler and pulls out a name. “Don’t worry bossman, I gotchu.” Cena says, launching into a freestyle rap.

Yo, United States Champ and I’m runnin’ this town,
RAW’s lookin’ weak, ‘bout to shut y’all down.
Bischoff, you soft, can’t handle the grind,
Monday night garbage, I’m leavin’ you behind.

You try to run the show, but you ain’t legit,
With your fake authority, man, you ain’t it.
I’m reppin’ Smackdown, we the real deal,
You losin’ every week, tell me how that feel?

And Paul Heyman, yeah, you think you slick?
Lookin’ like the Penguin with that greasy flick.
Talkin’ all tough but you know you ain’t quick,

Man, step up to me, you can choke on this…pick!

Cena tosses the pick at Heyman and walks back through the curtain as Heyman shouts, “That’s not my pick! THATS NOT MY PICK!”
Bischoff interjects, “Heyman, that’s your pick! It came from the tumbler, so it’s yours whether you like it or not!

Heyman protests, but then says “Fine, I’ll take it.” He opens the slip of paper and reads the name silently, his face suddenly lighting up with shock. He turns to Bischoff, “Eric, you sure you don’t want me to draw again? Maybe you want a redo?

Bischoff responds, “I don’t have time for your games! That’s your pick…just read it!

Heyman chuckles as Bischoff starts walking toward him. “Fine, fine,” Heyman says, tossing the pick at Bischoff. Bischoff fumbles and drops it, but quickly picks it up, and as he reads the name, his eyes widen.

WHAT THE HELL? NO WAY!” Bischoff shouts.

Heyman grins ear to ear. “The final draft pick for Paul Heyman’s SmackDown… is TRIPLE H!

Both commentary teams explode in disbelief as the arena erupts. Bischoff is fuming, yelling that the pick isn’t legal and that Heyman didn’t draw it properly. Heyman smirks, reminding Bischoff, “I asked you if you wanted me to draw again. Guess you’re stuck with the consequences!

1726944063540-png.86126

A recap shows off what happened just before the commercial, Eric Bischoff drafting Bradshaw, John Cena coming out and drawing a name for Paul Heyman, and that pick turning out to be…TRIPLE H! As the recap ends the camera is on the commentary table.

Jim Ross : Folks, the unthinkable has just happened. I can’t believe I’m sayin’ this, but Triple H… has been drafted to SmackDown!

Jerry Lawler : No way, J.R.! This can’t be happening! Eric Bischoff needs to fix this! We can’t lose Triple H to SmackDown! Raw’s never gonna be the same without him!

J.R. shakes his head as he looks into the camera.

Jim Ross : I don’t know what Bischoff’s gonna do, but he’s gotta act fast. Triple H is Raw through and through, and this… this changes everything.”

_______________

The camera cuts to Eric Bischoff’s office. Bischoff is pacing nervously, knowing what’s coming. The door slams open, and
Triple H storms in, followed closely by Ric Flair, Randy Orton, and Batista. Triple H looks furious.

Triple H : What the hell is this, Eric?! I get drafted to Smackdown?! After everything I’ve done for this brand?!

Eric Bischoff : Hunter, I don’t have a choice! Mr. McMahon made the rules! Not me! He’s the one who said no exceptions—

Triple H doesn’t let him finish. He grabs Bischoff by the collar of his shirt and slams him against the wall. Bischoff winces in pain as Evolution watches on. Triple H gets right in Bischoff’s face.

Triple H : I don’t give a damn about Mr. McMahon’s rules! You’re the General Manager! You fix this. Do you hear me?! Or there will be hell to pay.

Eric Bischoff : I can’t, Hunter, it’s out of my—

Triple H : Oh, you better find a way. Because if you don’t, not only am I taking the World Heavyweight Championship to SmackDown after I beat Benoit tonight, but I’ll make sure to burn this whole damn show to the ground.

Bischoff swallows hard, clearly shaken. Triple H shoves him hard against the wall one last time before backing off. Flair steps forward.

Ric Flair : You heard the man, Eric. Get it done. Fix this!

Batista and Orton glare at Bischoff before following Triple H and Flair out of the room, leaving Bischoff leaning against the wall, visibly rattled.

Eric Bischoff : Oh God…

______________

Paul Heyman bursts into the SmackDown locker room. He paces for a moment before turning to face them all.

This is it!” Heyman announces. “One last chance to stick it to Eric Bischoff and RAW! We’ve already drafted Triple H, and now we have a chance to bring the World Heavyweight Championship to ourshow. The match is next! And listen closely—any SmackDown superstar who helps Triple H bring that title to SmackDown gets the first shot at it!

The room goes quiet as the SmackDown roster looks around at each other. Some nod in agreement, others remain still, their expressions uncertain.

Suddenly,
Eddie Guerrero, the WWE Champion, stands up and he starts to walk toward the door.

Where the hell do you think you’re going?!” Heyman shouts.

Eddie pauses, turns back to face Heyman. “I’m not gonna be a part of you trying to take the championship off my familia, Chris Benoit.

Without another word, Eddie walks out, leaving Heyman standing there, fuming. Anger flashes across Heyman’s face as he glances back at the remaining superstars.

*THE GAME*

The unmistakable sound of Motörhead blasts throughout the arena. The energy inside the arena swells as the titantron flares to life with footage of Triple H in all his dominant glory—his past victories, his ruthless attacks. The crowd explodes into boos, knowing that “The Game” is about to step into his rematch for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Triple H emerges from the back, standing tall at the top of the ramp. He wears a RAW t-shirt, and he stares towards the ring.

As the slow, methodical pace of his entrance continues, he takes a swig from his water bottle. His signature moment comes as he stops at the apron, spraying a fountain of water into the air while standing on the ring apron. After stepping through the ropes, Triple H stands center ring, the focus solely on him.

Suddenly, in one swift, dramatic motion, he grabs his RAW t-shirt and rips it off, revealing a SmackDown t-shirt underneath! The crowd is stunned, reacting with a thunderous roar of confusion, maybe even cheers? He whips the RAW shirt into the crowd. Triple H stands there, soaking in the moment, he motions to his waist, signaling that the World Heavyweight Championship will once again belong to him. He glares up the ramp, waiting.

*WHATEVER*

The crowd erupts into cheers as World Heavyweight Champion
Chris Benoit emerges from behind the curtain, his expression a mix of focus and intensity. He stands at the top of the ramp, clad in RAW T-shirt, switching it up from his new 4Real shirt from earlier.

Benoit raises the World Heavyweight Championship high above his head and begins his walk down the ramp, fans stretch their arms out, reaching for him, some chanting his name—“Benoit! Benoit!”—while others hold signs that say “the best wrestler in the world”. Benoit nods at the crowd, but he’s laser focused on the ring.

He enters the ring through the ropes, raising the championship belt once more. The crowd cheers with excitement as he hands the title to the referee, the sound of the bell signaling the beginning of the rematch.

Match Six
World Heavyweight Championship

Chris Benoit ©️ versus Triple H

The bell rings, and both men circle each other, their eyes locked. The crowd is on its feet, anticipation building as they know what’s at stake. Benoit and Triple H engage in a tie-up, both men straining for control. Benoit, with his incredible technical prowess, quickly transitions into a side headlock.

Triple H pushes him off into the ropes, but Benoit comes back with a shoulder block that sends The Game staggering. Benoit follows up with a series of hard-hitting chops, echoing throughout the arena, causing the crowd to rally behind him.

Triple H retaliates, seizing Benoit’s arm and using it to throw him into the turnbuckle. With Benoit dazed, Triple H lands a brutal knee to the midsection, followed by a snap suplex. He rolls Benoit over for a quick pin, but Benoit kicks out at one.

The two men continue exchanging strikes, neither willing to give an inch. Benoit gains the upper hand with a series of German suplexes, each one more punishing than the last. He lifts Triple H for the third, and the crowd counts along, “One! Two! Three!” Benoit maintains control, but Triple H fights back, raking Benoit’s eyes and slowing down his momentum.

As the battle wages on back and forth for several minutes, the match is reaching its climax. The crowd is electric as the two warriors, both battered and bruised, refuse to back down. Both men are exhausted. Benoit, with his crisp technical wrestling, has worked over Triple H’s back and arm throughout the match, trying to set up the Crippler Crossface. Triple H, with his ruthless power and ring intelligence, has targeted Benoit’s legs, slowing him down and setting up for the Pedigree. The match has been brutal with both men trading high-impact moves, suplexes, and submission holds, pushing each other to their absolute limit.

Triple H, desperate to win, goes for the Pedigree, but Benoit, running purely on instinct, counters with a huge back body drop. Triple H crashes to the mat hard, arching his back in pain. As he tries to get back to his feet, Benoit sees his opening. With a sudden burst of energy, Benoit grabs Triple H’s arm and drags him to the mat, locking in the Crippler Crossface! The crowd erupts as Benoit wrenches back. Triple H screams in agony, his hand shaking as he tries to reach for the ropes, but they’re just out of reach.

Suddenly, Evolution rushes down the ramp! Ric Flair, Randy Orton, and Batista storm the ring, determined to save their leader. Benoit, sensing danger, releases the hold and charges at them, knocking Flair off the apron with a hard forearm. Orton gets the same! Batista tries to enter the ring, but Benoit swings wildly, nailing him with a punch that sends him crashing back to the floor.

Just as Evolution seems to regroup, Shawn Michaels jumps the barricade from the crowd and dives into the fray. He flies at Flair and Batista, taking them down with a crossbody! Kips up and leaps at Orton! The crowd is going wild as Michaels battles Evolution outside the ring.

Just then, SmackDown’s A-Train and Rhyno sprint down the entrance way, but before they can reach the ring, Smackdown’s John Cena and Eddie Guerrero appear through the crowd, cutting them off. Cena and Guerrero take the fight to A-Train and Rhyno, leaving Michaels to fend off Evolution. Cena hits a huge punch on Rhyno, while Guerrero takes A-Train down with a chair shot. Guerrero and Cena then help take the fight to Evolution!

With chaos all around, the referee leaps out of the ring, trying to restore order. Inside, Benoit pulls Triple H to his feet, but just as Benoit tries to lift him, Triple H drills him with a low blow! Benoit crumples to the mat as Triple H smirks, knowing the referee is distracted.

Triple H goes for the Pedigree, but before he can execute it, Shawn Michaels sneaks away from the chaos on the outside and slides into the ring. In a flash, Michaels drills Triple H with Sweet Chin Music! Triple H collapses as the crowd is going crazy!

Michaels leaps over the top rope, crashing onto Batista, Flair, Cena, Guerrero, and the rest of the brawlers, wiping them all out!

Benoit, still reeling from the low blow, crawls toward Triple H, inch by inch. With everyone down, Benoit throws his arm over Triple H’s chest.

The referee, seeing the pinfall, dives back into the ring. The crowd chants with each slap of the mat.

One.

Two..

Three…

Chris Benoit defeated Triple H by pinfall (12:45)

The crowd cheers the champion pulling himself to his feet, clutching his title in exhausted triumph. Triple H, battered and defeated, rolls out of the ring as Evolution helps him retreat up the stage, seething with rage.

Inside the ring, Benoit is joined by
Eddie Guerrero, Shawn Michaels, and John Cena. The four men stand tall, the heroes of the night, raising each other’s arms in the air as the crowd cheers. The show closes with a shot of Triple H and Evolution glaring from the stage, while Benoit, Guerrero, Michaels, and Cena celebrate in the ring.

Here we go, the big draft show. Opening with Vince McMahon laying down the law for the draft makes the most sense. I found the different reactions from the GM’s very interesting, considering they both have a lot to potentially gain/lose.

Nice to show the imagery of all the locker rooms, except a few, united and waiting to see where their fate lies with the draft. A small thing but just makes the whole concept feel like a much bigger picture. Even the small detail of the heel champs remaining separate to everybody else was a nice touch. Also, this shows me that we really do have a lot of babyface champs right now.

I probably won’t comment to much on the draft picks, because you know, inside knowledge and whatever. I will however comment on the execution of the draft picks and the segments. Bischoff trying to ignore the coin toss and go first was nice, and all I can say is poor Rico lol. Also, I probably wasn’t the biggest fan of Bischoff acting as if Matt Hardy is a joke, but that’s probably because I have to book him now lol. A nice way to bring Big Show to Raw though, as he looks absolutely beastly. Seems like maybe he’ll be a face or at least a ‘tweener which is a nice change up to. Good stuff.

Smackdown rebound. The lesser brand. Yay.

More draft conversation between Bischoff and Heyman is fine. Hardy coming in and speaking to Heyman and getting a match was all solid enough. I was surprised by Nitro getting up and being super defensive to the point where he’d get in between Bischoff and talent. I don’t really recall that being something he ever did previously (I may have forgotten), but I don’t mind this as an evolution of his character anyway.

Damn. Orton got put in his place here by Triple H. Interesting development for sure, but it did make sense for Triple H to react this way after Orton’s words last week. This was fun.

I’m kind of hoping Bischoff and Heyman don’t keep making entrances with their theme songs every time they come out to make a pick. Feel like that’d get tiresome for the live audience relatively quickly. I do feel like the next part of this draft was a step up in excitement due to DEM SMACKDOWN PIX~! I’m not biased, I swear. But seriously, it’s a cool dynamic because Dupree (splitting up La Resistance after they just got back together), and RVD (one half of tag champs) have severe consequences, which is exciting.

And following up with Bischoff’s reaction is great. Easy E panicking and wanting to find the tag champs as soon as possible works well. Dupree initially being annoyed, but then leaving with Heyman was a nice moment to.

Enjoying the way you’re booking Molly post head shave. Her almost being obsessed with cutting other people’s hair now is kind of cool. Love the return of Gail Kim here to, and Jackie is rightfully fodder here. Victoria/Gail/Molly are certainly three capable women to hold down the fort until Trish decides to wrestle again. Division looks promising with one return.

Again, thumbs up for the draft reactions with Bischoff making Booker defend as a sole champion, since RVD is a SD guy now. Really simple yet effective booking.

Matt Morgan getting some mic time. Thank god he doesn’t have a stuttering problem in this universe lol. Or at least yet. Seems like Morgan might be getting a push though so interested to see how that goes.

I did think it was strange to throw away a Christian/Jericho rematch with so much heat here, so glad it was a swerve. Trish’s comments were good, and then Heyman coming out and using the opportunity to showcase SD is perfect.

Enough interference here from Trish to maintain heat and keep Jericho looking okay, whilst Rhyno gets a really big win for him. No complaints.

More Bischoff/Heyman banter which is always a highlight on these type of shows. Nice.

Short and sharp for Benoit which works best, to be honest. Good, intense stuff like usual, and the reminder of HBK lurking for a title shot at some point keeps things interesting.

Oh hey, The Undertaker. TUNE IN TO SMACKDOWN, FOLKS~!

Okay, so Kurt Angle is obviously a huge pick for Raw. I get what you were going for with the injured reserve thing, but I don’t think this quite hit the mark. Yes, Bischoff would probably be irked that Angle isn’t ready to compete straight away, BUT I still highly doubt Heyman would be so calm, happy, smug about losing somebody the calibre of Angle from the SD roster. Felt like the first real miss of the night for me.

To counteract that thought, considering I had no input in this show, and I just randomly picked who I wanted from the draft, the way you’ve crafted the tag title situation with RVD, Cade and Jindrak all coming to SD… And turning that into an awesome, stressful arc for Bischoff throughout the night, which has just gotten worse. Really awesome stuff for a one night angle.

Tag title match has multiple angles coming out of it so I’d say it was a success. Question from Raw is what happens with Booker T and the tag titles moving forward? Question from SD, what does Heyman do to RVD after he cost SD the tag titles. Good times.

Trish leaving is fine, and of course gloating on the way. Glad to see Terri is still around…

No comment on the Edge promo because it’s the one thing I contributed to this show. Probably segment of the night lol.

Damn you for ruining Matt Hardy lol, jkz, it’s fine. Maybe his theme should be changed to delirious with the way he’ll be acting when he shows up on SD? Anyway, purely from a Raw perspective, no issues with Morgan coming in and getting a relatively easy victory, and some previous promo time. You’ve made him feel important coming across, which is smart.

LOL at Coach trying to act like a big shot to Show and The Bashams. A solid enough segment, which I’m assuming will lead somewhere in the coming weeks.

Final pick time. Yay. Cena’s rap was really good, and like the way it lead into the pick. Bischoff regretting forcing Heyman to keep that pick because it turned out to be Triple H is great as well. You’ve managed the draft so well.

Evolution are annoyed and Heyman sees an opportunity. Some good stuff here.

And the main event was fun, with all the high stakes interference thrown in for good measure. Good for his title reign for Benoit to get a singles victory over Triple H before he heads to Smackdown. Great ending, and the visual of the four faces from different brands standing tall to end the night is a good one.

Really good stuff here man. Draft shows can be difficult to manage, but you’ve got through all the picks, and really worked in the drama between Bischoff/Heyman really well. So many twists with this draft which created some fun one night angles to. Really good.

rant and I have tried this whole partnership thing before, lasting a total of three shows. This is show number four, so we've basically just broken a world record here. Get excited!

Thursday Night Smackdown – March 25th, 2004
Grand Rapids, Michigan – Van Andel Arena

The show opens with a video recap, focusing on the events of the draft which took place on Monday Night Raw earlier in the week. The video package doesn’t focus on the losses of Smackdown, but instead shines a light on the wrestlers that were picked up during the draft:

Garrison Cade
Mark Jindrak
Matt Hardy
Rene Dupree
Rob Van Dam
Triple H

“TIME TO PLAY THE GAME"

The pop is CRAZY LOUD as the theme music hits, but it quickly disintegrates into heat as TRIPLE H makes his first appearance on Smackdown in almost two years. Arguably Smackdown’s most prized draft pick, Triple H is dressed in an all-grey suit, with a white shirt underneath, looking great, and he’s got a pretty content look on his face. ‘The Game’ saunters down the ramp, hopping on apron, spitting water, and eventually grabbing a microphone. Triple H waits a few moments before the noise of the fans dies down so he can speak.

Triple H: For those of you who have been living under a rock for the past few days and might be surprised to see me, your eyes aren’t deceiving you. This past Monday Night on Raw, Smackdown quite literally hit the lottery during the draft lottery.

HHH points at himself and chuckles self-assuredly, indicating that drafting him is like SD winning the lottery. The fans aren’t impressed.

Triple H: When Paul Heyman put his pudgy little hands on that piece of paper that said the name Triple H… In that very moment, Smackdown became the new flagship show of the WWE.

More self-promoting from ‘The Game’ to boos from the crowd.

Triple H: There’s no draft pick better, hell there simply isn’t a wrestler in this entire company bigger. If you don’t believe what I’m saying, look at my credentials. World Heavyweight Champion, Intercontinental Champion, Royal Rumble winner, I’ve main evented multiple WrestleManias.

Boos as Triple H continues.

Triple H: I’ve beaten everybody there is to beat. Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, The Undertaker, Mick Foley, Shawn Michaels, Kurt Angle, you name ‘em and I’ve beat ‘em.

H pauses, surveying the audience from behind his shades, they still don’t seem impressed.

Triple H: I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, there’s only one diamond in this business and you’re looking at him!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Triple H: And just because now I’ve been drafted over to Smackdown from Raw, it doesn’t mean anything is going to change. Red brand, blue brand, it doesn’t matter. No Evolution? That’s fine too, I was the man well before I got those jerk offs to carry my bags.

OH! Don’t think anybody expected that from Triple H.

Triple H: Now speaking of maintaining the status quo, I’m not here to waste any time. I’ve been sitting around for the past two weeks without a WWE Championship around my waist, and to be quite frank, I feel naked without one.

‘The Game’ subconsciously touches at his bare waist.

Triple H: And I know, there’s a guy in the back by the name of Eddie Guerrero that’s walking around with the WWE Title…

Trips is interrupted by a HUGE pop, followed by an “EDDIE”, “EDDIE”, “EDDIE” chant.

Triple H: Ha, that’s cute. But let’s face the facts. Eddie Guerrero is a solid hand, a nice wrestler, somebody perfectly suited to go and warm up the crowd for guys like me every night. Eddie Guerrero sits somewhere down here (holds his hand up to his waist) whereas I sit somewhere up here (raises his hand as high as it will go).

Major heat from the fans, as they clearly disagree.

Triple H: It’s time that I raise Smackdown and that WWE Title to a new level, so Paul Heyman, what I suggest is that you come out here right now, and you make me the number one contender for the WWE Championship.

The fans still don’t react overly positively for that, but H ignores them, chewing his gum and waiting when…

***MENTAL***

The heat gets louder again as the General Manager of Smackdown, PAUL HEYMAN hurries through the curtain. Despite having a new big-name recruit in the ring, Heyman looks to be a little uncomfortable as he steps through the ropes and gets his hands on a mic.

Paul Heyman: Triple H, ‘The Cerebral Assassin’, ‘The Game’…

Boos for Heyman’s obvious sucking up.

Paul Heyman: Hunter, let me be the first to officially welcome you to Paul Heyman’s Smackdown!

Hunter thanks Paul off mic.

Paul Heyman: As you very well know, long before I got this job, I ran a company called ECW. Before that, and after that, I thrived in this business as a manager, because I have the best eye for talent that this business has ever seen. And let me just say, Hunter, they don’t come more talented than you.

This gets a toothy grin from the new member of the SD roster.

Paul Heyman: You’ve got the looks, you’ve got the build, you talk the talk, you walk the walk, you are the total package…

“THAT’S LEX LUGER’S GIMMICK” – Random fan.

Paul Heyman: I can honestly look you in the eye and tell you that I can’t wait to make history with you. There are so many amazing things that we will do together…

H nods, and motions for the title around his waist, leading Heyman to gulp.

Paul Heyman: But, you getting an immediate title shot against Eddie Guerrero is no on the list of incredible things that we will do together. It can’t happen.

Hunter’s jaw goes wide in shock for a moment, before he takes off his shades, beginning to tremble with rage.

Triple H: What the hell do you mean it can’t happen?

The Smackdown GM is stressing.

Paul Heyman: Look, Hunter, I had no idea that you were going to get drafted, so I had already given that the next title shot to a man who, well, lost the title unfairly to begin with. At Judgment Day, Eddie Guerrero will defend the WWE Championship against Brock Lesnar.

Pop from the fans, as Triple H shakes his head in disgust, telling Heyman “THAT’S MY SHOT”!

Paul Heyman: But, Hunter, I-I promise you, I’m more than happy to give you a title shot after Judgment Day. However, you’re new to Smackdown, and I want this working relationship to start off in the best possible way. You name it and I’ll do it. What can I offer you to make your start on Smackdown a good one?

Heyman looks desperate as Triple H takes his time to ponder the question.

Triple H: Nothing.

Heyman looks shocked.

Triple H: See you after Judgment Day, Paul.

Mic drop from Triple H. He’s been told he can’t get a title shot until after Judgment Day, so it seems like he just won’t be around until then. Triple H storms up the ramp, with Heyman chasing after him, begging him to stop so they can discuss.

He doesn’t stop though, instead storming through the curtain and out of the arena. They eventually reach the parking lot, Heyman jogging to keep up, when Trips steps into a limo. Heyman pleads for him to reconsider, but without a second look, Triple H leaves. Heyman looks dishevelled and concerned as one must wonder just when we will see Triple H again…

Upon returning from the break, the titantron comes to life with a video that has the caption of ‘EARLIER TODAY’. The video shows another new member of the Smackdown roster, ROB VAN DAM walking through a hallway, before entering the communal Smackdown locker room. Wrestlers such as BILLY GUNN, HARDCORE HOLLY and BILLY KIDMAN are there to welcome RVD to Smackdown. He seems genuinely happy to be there, shaking hands with the guys, and telling them he’s excited to be ‘Mr. Thursday Night’.

1 – Singles Match

Rob Van Dam vs. Tajiri

This is more than just a showcase match for the new member of the roster, as these two ECW alumni wind back the clock and have a damn entertaining match. There is plenty of back and forth, the crowd get into it, and Tajiri far from disgraces himself. In the end though, we do want the new member of the roster to look good, as Van Dam reverses Tajiri’s Handspring Back Elbow, WITH A SPINNING HEEL KICK TO THE BACK OF THE NECK OF TAJIRI!!!

Tajiri falls to the canvas, and Van Dam leaps to the top… FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH LANDS!!!

VAN DAM COVERS…1…2…3!!!

Winner: Rob Van Dam @ 08:56

After the match, Van Dam gets a loud ovation from the fans, as everybody seems pretty happy to have “ROB…VAN…DAM” on Smackdown, until…

***FINAL FORCE***

RVD has a confused look on his face, as stepping through the curtain in a lavish navy robe is another new member of the Smackdown roster, RENE DUPREE. Dupree mockingly applauds Van Dam, and RVD shrugs, not completely understanding what the Frenchman’s problem is.

Rene Dupree: Congratulations, Rob Van Dam, you did such a great job beating that pipsqueak…

Heat for the arrogance of Dupree, as RVD shakes his head for the disrespect shown to the dangerous Tajiri.

Rene Dupree: And you got all the fanfare in the world for joining Smackdown. You got yourself a match, you got a warm welcome backstage… ÇA AURAIT DU ETRE MOI AU LIEU DE TOI…

Dupree yells out of nowhere, showing genuine anger.

Rene Dupree: It should have been me getting everything that you have… especially after you cost Smackdown the World Tag Team Titles last week.

Boos as the fans don’t agree.

Rene Dupree: So I’m out here to make my own welcome to Smackdown, thanks to the generosity of Paul Heyman. Rob Van Dam, I challenge you to a match next week, where you will fall victim to ‘The French Phenom’, and I will teach you some loyalty to Smackdown.

More heat, as Van Dam casually gets a microphone from a member of the ringside crew.

Rob Van Dam: I’d recommend everybody tune in to Smackdown next week, because this French fry is gonna’ get smoked by… ROB…VAN…DAM!!!

The challenge has been accepted, and the fans pop for it. RVD’s music hits again, and he smirks, whilst Dupree points menacingly and makes some inaudible threats, as we cut to a break.

In the parking lot, a low rider pulls up, but there’s no hydraulics, no goofy horn, no fun and games. Swivelling over the door of the flame orange low rider is none other than the WWE CHAMPION EDDIE GUERRERO. There is no usual smile from Eddie, he looks furious as he takes a few steps, before stopping, and shaking his head…

Because he is confronted by a barrage of security and armed police officers. Eddie shakes his head.

Eddie Guerrero: What the hell is this?

None of the officers answer, until they part in the middle, and standing just behind them is the smarmy Smackdown GM, PAUL HEYMAN.

Paul Heyman: Ahem, I can explain that, Mister Guerrero. You see, I knew you were going to be in a mood tonight after you were fairly beaten by Brock Lesnar and his partner last week. I knew you’d be fiery, Latino Heat and all that jazz, ready to go out in a blaze of glory, so I’ve decided to employ a security escort for you tonight for your own safety.

The flabbergasted champ takes a step towards Heyman, but the officers close the gap.

Paul Heyman: If you were to put your hands on Brock Lesnar or myself, I can only imagine what Brock Lesnar would do. HE’D TEAR YOU APART!!!

Guerrero disagrees.

Paul Heyman: So these competent, armed officers will be at your side all night, and they will escort you to your own personal locker room. And then when the number one contender calls you out later tonight for a face to face, they will leave your side and leave you standing nose to nose with Brock Lesnar. And by that stage, if you're feeling froggy, well then by all means, jump Mister Guerrero and see just where you land.

The WWE Champion is beside himself as the officers being too swarm around him.

Paul Heyman: Oh and officers. Feel free to use whatever force is necessary!

With that, Heyman shoots Eddie an arrogant grin and leaves. Meanwhile, a furious Eddie grabs his bag from the back seat of his car, and begins being directed by security on what direction to walk towards his locker room…

2 – Tag Team Match

Garrison Cade and Mark Jindrak vs. The Full Blooded Italians w/Johnny Stamboli

The veterans Palumbo and Nunzio are the ones in action tonight for the Italian trio, as they do their best to give the youngsters from Raw an unwarm welcome. As is the trend for tonight, our new draft picks need to look good, so despite facing some adversity, and admittedly getting a mixed reaction from the fans, Cade and Jindrak fight from underneath and come back with some serious fire. Eventually, they get a gold of Nunzio, with CADE GETTING NUNZIO UP IN A BEAR HUG…

AND JINDRAK LEAPS UP, LANDING AN INCREDIBLY HIGH DROPKICK!!!

CADE HOOKS THE LEG, AS JINDRAK MAKES SURE PALUMBO CAN’T GET BACK IN…1…2…3!!!

Winners: Garrison Cade and Mark Jindrak @ 07:16

The youngsters get a polite reaction as they celebrate their first win on their new brand. They signal that they’re coming for the WWE Tag Team Championships as they continue to celebrate. We then quickly cut to backstage, where SABLE is watching the youngers on a monitor. She nods her head, looking intrigued and impressed by the young duo…

We now head to the back where similar to RVD’s segment earlier, we see new draft pick MATT HARDY walking into the Smackdown communal locker room. Unlike Van Dam though, Hardy seems incredibly self-assured as he walks up to a group of wrestlers talking, and he taps one SHANNON MOORE on the shoulder. Moore smiles at Matt.

Shannon Moore: Welcome back, brother!

Moore looks for a handshake, but Hardy pays it no attention.

Matt Hardy: It’s a day for the history books, get excited, Shannon. Matt Hardy… VEEEEEEEEEE ONE AAAAHHHHHHH… Is back on Smackdown where it all started.

The punk enthusiast didn’t expect this type of reaction from Matt, as he shakes his head in annoyance.

Matt Hardy: And as the Sensei of Mattitude, I’m making it my personal responsibility to take Mattitude to new heights. But of course I’ve come to seek you out, because I can’t do that without my little Mfer by my sid-… Or, two steps, at least, behind me.

Moore rolls his eyes, but the glorious Hardy doesn’t notice.

Matt Hardy: So Shannon, you’re welcome. I’ve decided that you will be my Mattitude follower again.

Moore shifts his feet, looking a little uncomfortable.

Shannon Moore: Uhh Matt, I appreciate the offer, but no thanks. No disrespect, but I really want to continue to try and make a name for yourself on my own.

Matt’s eyes go wide, showing that he’s offended by the rejection.

Matt Hardy: You can’t say no to Mattitude. You can’t say no to Matt Hardy Version One. This is a way of life.

Moore shrugs, not knowing what the offended Hardy wants him to say.

Matt Hardy: Besides, what do you mean you’re going to continue to make a name for yourself? You’ve done nothing since I left, and you’ll do nothing after I’m gone. You should be grateful for this opportunity.

Hardy crosses his arms in a matter of fact, stand off fashion, but Moore looks annoyed now too.

Shannon Moore: You’d know all about doing nothing wouldn’t you, Matt? I didn’t exactly see you tearing the house down on Raw.

On instinct, Matt rears back… AND SLAPS SHANNON MOORE ACROSS THE FACE!!!

The locker room goes silent as everybody watches on… UNTIL A FURIOUS MOORE RETALIATES WITH A SLAP OF HIS OWN…

AND THE BRAWL IS ON!!!

The two former friends start swinging wildly at each other in the middle of the locker room… UNTIL ALL THE OTHER WRESTLERS SEPARATE THEM!!!

A few of the heels seem to want to let them fight, but the faces split them up, as they both yell at each other, wanting to rip each other’s heads off…

3 – Singles Match
John Cena vs. Rhyno

Cena has been on quite the roll as of late, absolutely on fire, even pushing the WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero to the limit last week. The commentators put over how good Cena has been, and he looks to continue on his merry way, starting off completely in control. He really shocks Rhyno early, even getting in the Five Knuckle Shuffle and the Throwback within the first few minutes.

Rhyno shows off some resilience though, kicking out of a few pinfall attempts, and when Cena gets Rhyno up for the FU, Rhyno is able to rake the eyes, and land behind Cena. From there, he runs through Cena with a Clothesline, and now Rhyno gets a period where he’s in control. Rhyno cleverly starts things off with a Gut buster and continues to work on the ribs and mid-section.

After softening Cena up, Rhyno sets up… AND RUNS AT CENA WITH THE GORE!!!

NO!!! CENA LEAPFROGS HIM!!!

Rhyno crashes into the corner, and on instinct, gets back to his feet and stumbles towards the centre of the ring. Cena hoists him up on his shoulders… FU!!!

Both men remain down after the finish is hit, and as Cena crawls to make the cover, Rhyno manages to roll underneath the bottom rope and to the outside. The referee begins the count, as Cena slowly battles to his feet, and he then leans through the middle rope, looking to drag Rhyno back into the ring… BUT RHYNO CRACKS CENA IN THE SKULL WITH A STEEL CHAIR!!!

Without anybody seeing, Rhyno had gotten a chair from underneath the ring. The referee has no choice but to call this one a DQ.

Winner: John Cena @ 07:44

The bell rings and the audience reign down boos, but that doesn’t stop the vicious Rhyno, who slides into the ring with the steel chair still in his possession.

He stands over Cena, scaring the pleading referee away… AND RHYNO REPEATEDLY SLAMS THE CHAIR ACROSS THE BACK OF CENA!!!

A bunch of referees run down to try and break things up, and Rhyno pretends he’s done, only to notice Cena fighting to his feet…

ONE MORE STEEL CHAIR ACROSS THE SKULL FOR GOOD MEASURE!!!

The heat is crazy loud, as Cena is damn near unconscious now. The referees check on him, as Rhyno finally leaves the ring, proud of a job well done…

In what seems like their own private locker room, CHARLIE HASS and SHELTON BENJAMIN, the WORLD’S GREATEST TAG TEAM are hanging out in maroon sweatpants and hoodies, when a fired-up EDGE barges into the locker room.

Both Haas and Benji jump to their feet, ready to fight, the tension clear for all to see as all three men breathe heavily.

Charlie Haas: Edge, we know why you-…

Edge: SHUT UP!!!

Haas is taken aback by the abrupt nature of Edge, before looking to take a step forward, but Shelton tries to get him to keep his cool.

Edge: I didn’t come here to listen to you to run your mouths. I came here so you two can listen to me, and then answer my questions.

WGTT don’t look overly happy.

Edge: Last week, your boy Kurt Angle told me that it wasn’t him who attacked me from behind and took me out last week. I don’t know why, but my gut tells me that he’s telling the truth. That means Kurt’s off the hook…

Edge’s eyes are locked on both men, waiting for any sort of tell or nervousness.

Edge: Which brings me to you two… You two were the other guys I was meant to face at No Way Out when I got taken out. I know you two do everything together, so you can hold hands and be each other’s emotional support person if that helps, but I need you to be men and admit that you attacked me?

The tension rises and Haas is clearly irritated.

Charlie Haas: We didn’t attack you.

Edge snickers.

Edge: Just like that, huh? I’m supposed to take your word for it?

Haas shrugs, but Shelton steps in.

Shelton Benjamin: Yes. Look we were under Kurt Angle’s wing when he brought us into Smackdown because we wanted to learn and become the best we could be. Truthfully, we would have done anything Kurt told us would get us better, and that includes attacking you, but he never asked us to do it, so we didn’t do it.

Edge seems to soften ever so slightly but is still unsure after the more detailed explanation from Benji.

Shelton Benjamin: I’m not sure who did, but there were plenty of emergency meetings between Kurt Angle and Paul Heyman that we weren’t privy to. If anybody is going to know what happened, it’s going to be Heyman.

Edge nods and turns to leave.

Shelton Benjamin: Whoa, Edge, are we off the hook?

Edge: I don’t know yet. We’ll see.

Edge looks to continue out the door.

Charlie Haas: One more thing. I hope you brought your wrestling gear with you tonight.

Edge turns back with a sneer.

Charlie Haas: Because you don’t get to come in here and disrespect us like that. I’m going to clear it with Paul, and I’m going to teach you some respect tonight.

Haas is all seriousness, and Benjamin looks shocked, whilst Edge chuckles to himself.

Edge: I’ll see you out there.

Edge turns and leaves, his return match apparently going to be set for tonight. Meanwhile, Benji gets right behind us, beginning to hype him up as we cut away…

We cut to a new scene where Smackdown General Manager PAUL HEYMAN is watching proceedings at his desk, and his eyes go wide with concern. He then looks to either side of him, where the menacing A TRAIN and the sweaty and heavy breathing RHYNO stand by, taking a sigh of relief.

Paul Heyman: Firstly, Rhyno, congratulations is in order for your performance tonight against John Cena, and your representation of Smackdown at Raw on Monday. Well done, you will be rewarded in due course. As for right now, I don’t know who attacked Edge, but it looks like he could become a serious problem.

The three then prepare to have a confidential discussion, putting their heads together so the conversation is inaudible for viewers.

4 – Tag Team Match
Akio and Sakoda vs. Billy Kidman and Rey Mysterio

Just as these four are about to lock up, CHAVO GUERRERO SR. makes his way out to sit at the commentary desk with Michael Cole and Tazz. When quizzed about why he’s here considering his son Chavo Jr. claims to be done with Rey Mysterio, Chavo Classic looks disappointed with Michael Cole. “Don’t you think that’s a little disrespectful, Michael? Chavo is the champion because he prepares well, and I am out here scouting three terrific competitors, who all could be worthy of a Cruiserweight Championship match. Of course, that’s NOT including Rey Mysterio”.

Chavo Sr. mainly just runs his mouth for the most part, but sticks to his seat, which allows these four to put on a pretty damn fun match. The underrated Akio and Sakoda work really well together, isolating Kidman, before he lands a flash BK Bomb and tags in Mysterio. Rey comes in off his hot tag and dominates, until all hell breaks loose. Kidman and Akio end up battling on the outside, as Mysterio gets the charging Sakoda with a Drop Toe Hold!

Sakoda lands hanging on the middle rope, and Rey is preparing for the 619!!!

NO!!! CHAVO SR. JUMPS ONTO THE APRON!!!

The referee and Rey are distracted, with the referee urgently approaching and demanding Classic get down. Mysterio watches on, shaking his head, when CHAVO GUERRERO JR. SLIDES INTO THE RING!!!

Chavo has his Cruiserweight Title ready to go, and as Rey turns… CHAVO SMASHES REY IN THE SKULL WITH THE TITLE!!!

NO!!! REY DUCKS…

And kicks Chavo in the stomach, BEFORE THROWING HIM THROUGH THE MIDDLE ROPE… CAUSING BOTH CHAVO’S TO LAND WITH THE SPLAT ON THE CONCRETE FLOOR!!!

Meanwhile, Sakoda is back up and looks to attack Rey from behind, but Kidman interrupts him with a Dropkick, which causes Sakoda to stagger into a WEST COAST POP!!!

REY GRABS HOLD OF THE LEGS FOR THE PIN…1…2…3!!!

Winner: Billy Kidman and Rey Mysterio @ 08:31

It’s celebration time for old friends Kidman and Mysterio, as they share a hug and get a big pop from the fans. As the celebration continues, the Chavo’s back up the ramp, with Jr clutching his Cruiserweight title.

With anguish on his face, Chavo makes it clear that Rey will NEVER get another title shot. The Chavo’s then storm through the curtain and to the back, allowing the positive celebration of Kidman and Rey to continue…

We head to an undisclosed location, where standing in a dark room, dressed in a black leather jacket and fiddling with his goatee is SEAN O’HAIRE.

Sean O’Haire: Some of you were probably shocked and confused that last week I decided to speak out. I decided to let my voice be heard, and it just so happened that the two men to wear the brunt of my voice were The APA. Now one of those men has just been drafted over to Raw, but that leaves me here with Faarooq.

O’Haire smirks when mentioning that The APA are no longer together, which is probably still a sore spot for a lot of fans.

Sean O’Haire: I’m filled with joy at the fact that Faarooq is the one that’s left behind, because Faarooq, you are the one I truly have a problem with. Well I’ve been stuck sitting on the bench for no real reason other than politics, you’ve been out here squandering opportunity after opportunity. And now that Bradshaw isn’t here to prop you up anymore, I’m going to make sure you don’t get anymore opportunities.

He takes a moment, adjusting his collar, and taking a breath.

Sean O’Haire: Over the last ten months, if you were in a match, there’s a good chance you lost. I haven’t even been able to compete in a match during that time, yet you get chance after chance. Hell, you lose so often these days it’s almost as if the results of your matches are predetermined.

Oh wow, O’Haire’s going in tonight, and that comment gets a mixed reaction from the fans.

Sean O’Haire: To much beer drinking, to much playing cards, to much worrying about having a good time. Life’s about choices and you’ve made yours, but it’s about time the consequences of those choices come to fruition. I’m going to save you from yourself, because I am ‘The Standard’.

Another pause from O’Haire, letting his words sink in.

Sean O’Haire: My advice to you would be skip to the bar this week, go to a gym, get a workout in and start thinking strategy. Because next week, I’m challenging you to a match Faarooq, and Smackdown will never be the same. As a matter of fact, the standard will be raised.

Having said his bit, we pan out to the arena to see O’Haire on the titantron, the fans booing loudly as we cut to commercials.

***NEXT BIG THING***

The mood in the arena changes, as the man post draft who is confirmed to be the number one contender to be the WWE Championship, in BROCK LESNAR, heads towards the ring. Brock gets a negative reception from the Michigan natives in the audience, but he doesn’t seem to be bothered by it. Donned in his three striped sweats and a self-branded tee, Lesnar potentially looks the most content he has since losing the WWE Title to Eddie Guerrero back at No Way Out last month. After impressively leaping onto the apron and setting off his pyro, Brock gets himself a microphone and prepares to speak.

Brock Lesnar: I have to admit, even though I’m stuck in a place like Grand Rapids, Michigan tonight… I’m feeling pretty good…

The red-faced Lesnar chuckles to himself, as he’s successfully gotten the crowd to hate him even more.

Brock Lesnar: I’m feeling good because the first step towards everything being right in the world again took place last week. Less than a week after the biggest travesty of all time at WrestleMania, I proved my dominance and I beat the WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero.

Clearly gloating, Lesnar is all smiles, and the fans don’t like it one bit.

Brock Lesnar: Last week showed the world what I already knew. That I’m simply better than Eddie Guerrero.

More heat from the fans as on commentary, Michael Cole defiantly reminds the world that Brock DID beat Eddie, however it was in a tag team match with the deck heavily stacked in his favour.

Brock Lesnar: No, no, see what you people are doing is letting your personal opinion of me sway the way you look at me versus Eddie as professional wrestlers. The only reason Eddie beat me at No Way Out and stole MY WWE Championship is thanks to Goldberg getting involved. Before Goldberg got involved, I threw Eddie around the ring like a sack of potatoes for twenty minutes, and when I decided to show him mercy, I would’ve pinned his ass to the mat.

“BULLSHIT” chant from the fans, but Brock just shakes it off.

Brock Lesnar: Speaking of Bill Goldberg, it’s no surprise that PUSSY has gone running after his buddy Stone Cold helped him steal a match from me at WrestleMania.

Whoa, big time reaction for that statement. Very mixed.

Brock Lesnar: I couldn’t help myself with that one, but I’m not here to talk about Goldberg. My point is comparing Eddie’s tainted victory over me compared to my clean victory over Eddie last week shows just how much better I am. Yes, it was a tag team match but it came down to Eddie and myself, and one F5 later, I didn’t need to lie, cheat and steal. I got the ‘W’ within the rules because that’s the type of competitor that I am.

‘The Vanilla Gorilla’ puffs out his chest, really feeling himself as he continues to receive plenty of heat from the audience.

Brock Lesnar: And after last week’s result, my close personal friend, the Smackdown General Manager Paul Heyman had no choice but to name me the number one contender for the WWE Championship at Judgment Day. That’s why I stand here tonight with a smile on my face. There’s now a date pencilled in where order will be restored and the clock will strike midnight on Eddie’s little fairytale.

With a big smile on his face, ignoring the heat from the audience, Brock now gets up close and personal with the camera.

Brock Lesnar: I guess that’s bad luck for you, Hunter…

First Goldberg, now Triple H. Brock is throwing out stray shots tonight, and seemingly enjoying every second of it.

Brock Lesnar: As a matter of fact, Eddie, because I am a nice guy, I actually have a suggestion to make this a lot easier for you. Why don’t you just come out here and forfeit the WWE Title back to me?

Brock tries to look earnest whilst the fans are astonished by the audacity of this man.

Brock Lesnar: Please take this suggestion and do the right thing, Eddie. You’re a family man now and I respect that. I respect all of the obstacles you’ve overcome. I’d hate to beat you so badly that you’d be embarrassed to the point where you’d disgrace your family legacy and maybe even… Fall off the wagon.

Whoa. Loudest heat of the night so far as Lesnar goes extremely low, referencing Eddie’s previous addiction issues.

Brock Lesnar: So come on, Eddie. We’ve got a show to get on with, so the sooner you co-…

“VIVA LA RAZA”

The pop is ENORMOUS for the WWE Champion, but despite the reaction, EDDIE GUERRERO looks less than impressed. His patented fiery Latino heat in full swing, Eddie basically power walks down the ring, clearly not having had time to prep his custom low rider entry. No shimmy, no smiling from the champ, as he steps inside the squared circle and immediately gets in the face of Lesnar.

Both men are red faced now, yelling at each other off mic, until Eddie grabs himself a microphone and gets right back in Brock’s face.

Eddie Guerrero: You wanna’ bring up my family, my previous obstacles and disrespect me like that?

Guerrero is heavy breathing, doing his best to maintain his composure.

Eddie Guerrero: YOU WANNA’ COME OUT HERE AND RUN YOUR MOUTH ABOUT STUFF THAT YOU DON’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT?

The champ is losing his temper.

Eddie Guerrero: Well, ORALE. QUIERO PELEAR CONTIGO AHORA MISMO POR MI FAMILIA, HOLMES.

Brock Lesnar: I don’t know what the hell you’re talking about. How about you SPEAK ENGLISH?

Eddie Guerrero: SHUT YOUR MOUTH, ESSE!!!

The tension between the two is clear for all to see, the fans all cheering on the intensity of Eddie.

Eddie Guerrero: It’s taking everything in me not to smash this microphone over your head, holmes, but since you ran your mouth so long, I’ll get something off my chest as well. You can say what you want about last week’s tag match, but words are just words. You didn’t beat me fair and square, vato, you had an unfair advantage. At least when I cheat, I’m man enough to admit it.

Big pop for that comment from Guerrero, whilst Lesnar looks genuinely annoyed for the first time of the night.

Eddie Guerrero: Not only that, but you come out here tonight and you talk the talk, but do you still know how to walk the walk? Last time I checked you lost at No Way Out and you lost at WrestleMania as well.

Brock steps away and kicks the bottom rope in frustration.

Eddie Guerrero: You can try and justify it or come up with any excuse that you like, but it seems to me as if you can’t handle the fact that I beat you at No Way Out. But Brock, I did beat you. Goldberg or no Goldberg, for thirty minutes you threw everything at me, I withstood it, and then I kicked your ass and became the WWE Champion, holmes!

“EDDIE” chants begin, but despite having the upper hand in the verbal exchange, Eddie still seems displeased.

Eddie Guerrero: Now normally you’ve said your bit, I’ve retaliated, I’d now walk away and prepare for Judgment Day, but that isn’t going to cut it tonight. You want to bring up my battles with addiction, you want to bring up me disgracing my family? Well, you’ve gone and messed up, Brock…

The champ is trembling with rage, taking a moment to try and compose himself.

Eddie Guerrero: Because I don’t care if you’re friends with Paul Heyman, hell I don’t care if your friends with Vince McMahon himself, all I know is that I’ve kicked your ass once, and I’m about to do it again!

With that, Eddie drops his microphone and begins unstrapping the WWE Championship from around his waist. The arrogant Lesnar laughs out loud, but when Eddie rips off his shirt, Brock realises he isn’t joking. Lesnar drops his mic and yells out “LET’S GO THEN”, as the two stand toe to toe…

THEY ARE ABOUT TO SWING PUNCHES AT EACH OTHER…

***GONG***

THE LIGHTS IN THE ARENA GO OUT!!!

It’s pitch-black inside of the arena, nobody can see anything…

WHEN THE LIGHTS COME BACK ON!!!

AND THE UNDERTAKER IS IN THE RING!!!

Before Lesnar can react… TAKER GOOZLES HIM…

TAKER DRILLS LESNAR WITH A CHOKESLAM!!!

Guerrero smirks, until ‘Taker puts his head on a swivel, and locks eyes with Guerrero. Eddie puts his hands up, pleading innocence…

BUT ‘TAKER GOOZLES EDDIE AS WELL!!!

KICK TO THE GUT FROM GUERRERO BREAKS ‘TAKER’S GRIP!!!

The champion begins teeing off with right hands, dazing ‘Taker, so Eddie bounces off the ropes…

EDDIE RUNS STRAIGHT INTO A BIG BOOT!!!

Eddie’s dazed now and down on the canvas, but immediately rolls underneath the bottom rope and to the outside. Meanwhile, ‘Taker stands tall, putting his thumb across his throat, signalling the end is near.

The fans are popping like crazy, although there a few Guerrero fans who are vocally unhappy. Eddie looks concerned though, as Lesnar is down, and ‘Taker drops to one knee, picking up the WWE Title as he does, and he performs his signature taunt with the WWE Championship in his outreached hand.

Meanwhile, on the ramp, PAUL BEARER steps through the curtain, microphone in hand.

Paul Bearer: OHHHHHHHH YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!!

‘Taker continues to stand with the WWE Champion in his possession, as a content Bearer looks on. With ‘The Deadman’ standing over Lesnar, and Eddie looking very concerned on the outside, we head to commercials.

The show returns with a replay, showcasing the highly personal promo between BROCK LESNAR and WWE CHAMPION EDDIE GUERRERO, which ends with THE UNDERTAKER coming down, Chokeslamming Lesnar, and clearing Eddie from the ring.

***

The camera immediately transitions to panning away from a monitor, to reveal that we are inside the office of PAUL HEYMAN. The Smackdown General Manager isn’t alone though, with him is a furious BROCK LESNAR, who grabs the TV monitor and throws it on the floor, breaking it in the process.

Brock Lesnar: WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT, PAUL? WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?

Heyman doesn’t know what to say, looking afraid of the rampaging Lesnar, who grabs at his back, still feeling the effects of the Chokeslam.

Brock Lesnar: I was about to kick Eddie Guerrero’s ass and then The Undertaker catches me off guard like that. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?

Paul puts his hands up, trying to get Brock to relax for a moment. Heyman’s eyes dart from side to side, clearly trying to muster something on the spot. Suddenly, Heyman gets a devious grin on his face.

Paul Heyman: You-you’re one hundred percent right, Brock. Something needs to be done.

Brock continues to look at Heyman expectantly.

Paul Heyman: And I’ve got just the plan to take care of The Undertaker next week…

Lesnar relaxes ever so slightly, seemingly happy with the response. Of course, that ‘plan’ is remaining a mystery to next week, so this is where the segment comes to an end…

5 - Singles Match

Charlie Haas w/Shelton Benjamin vs. Edge

Edge starts out looking really impressive, almost as if he’s gotten better since his time off, and it probably helps that there’s so much tension here after their confrontation earlier in the night. Haas comes in emotional and fails, until he heads to the outside where Shelton talks some sense into him. Once he returns to the ring, Haas has more success as he manages to start implementing a game plan and using his amateur wrestling skill.

It helps that on the outside, Benjamin isn’t scared to get involved to keep Edge at bay, until THE REFEREE CATCHES SHELTON LANDING A SNEAKY KICK TO THE BACK OF EDGE AS HE BOUNCES OFF THE ROPES… AND SHELTON GETS EJECTED!!!

This turns the match on its head, as after arguing with the referee, a slightly more anxious Hass makes a mistake which allows Edge back into the match. After Edge builds some momentum, they transition into a finishing run, with both men landing some big moves. Eventually, EDGE LOOKS FOR THE EDEGECUTION!!!

NO… HAAS SPINS OUT AND GOES BEHIND EDGE…

GERMAN SUPLEX…NO!!! EDGE SHOVES HAAS AWAY!!!

WHEN HAAS TURNS BACK TO FACE EDGE… EDGE RUNS THROUGH HIM WITH A SPEAR!!!

EDGE HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…3!!!

Winner: Edge @ 12:21

It’s a PHENOMENAL effort from Haas, which needs to be acknowledged, but the real story here is that Edge’s first match back is successful. A victorious Edge has his hand raised by the ref, and momentarily celebrates to an awesome ovation from the fans.

After taking a moment or two to enjoy the spoils of victory, Edge looks deep into the camera and says, “HEYMAN… WE NEED TO TALK”!!!

Edge then continues to celebrate, when his eyes are drawn up the ramp, where RHYNO steps through the curtain.

Rhyno stares menacingly, and Edge shakes his head in disbelief, knowing that Rhyno has been sent out by Heyman.

Edge invites him down, and Rhyno takes a few steps towards Edge…

WHAM!!!

EDGE GETS CLOBBERED FROM BEHIND…

BY A TRAIN!!!

Exhausted from his match, and caught off guard, all Edge can do is fall forward to the mat, where Train continues to pummel Edge.

With Edge defenceless, A Train drags Edge to his feet, lifts him onto his shoulders… AND DRILLS HIM WITH THE TRAIN WRECK!!!

Rhyno watches on with a smirk, as A Train stands tall over Edge, pummelling his own chest as he tells Edge, “LET THAT BE A MESSAGE TO YOU”!!!

Edge is down and out, still none the wiser to who his attacker is, whilst A Train poses to the irritated fans… Having assumedly sent a message on behalf of Paul Heyman… As the show fades to black…

It's my first day on the forum, and I'm happy I found a BTB from this time period that wasn't too far along for me to get caught up. I'm a sucker for early Ruthless Aggression era stories, especially with a draft that lets you quickly add your own flavor.

I thought both RAW and SmackDown post-Mania had a fair balance of PPV fallout and Draft night setup. I particularly enjoy how both of you used that set up to make the draft night itself feel truly unpredictable. So many plans and hinted stories and groups were shattered by the lottery results. I groaned at the Big Show pick, because I was sorta hyped to see a Heyman-Lesnar-Big Show trio dominate SD! But that's not a bad thing. It was effective. I got a real kick out of Bischoff being in a BLENDER all night long with his tag division. I thought having Booker get put in the handicap situation was genius... then following it with Cade & Jindrak getting drafted away and RVD helping Booker retain was brilliant. I legit clapped my hands at that result. I know that entire scenario woulda popped me huge irl. The draft results did a lot to help freshen up the top of the card for both brands, with Eddie and Benoit both poised to have (I assume) much better title reigns than we saw in 2004. SmackDown still having Lesnar is one of the biggest butterfly effect moments in this era of wrestling... then they actually keep the Triple H draft pick? AND Undertaker is gunning for the top, regardless of who the champ is? An insane cast of main eventers for Eddie to work with. Evolution WITHOUT Triple H, as Orton is on the CUSP of superstardom? Oh, I'm intrigued. It's also dope that Benoit and HBK can continue as a 1v1 story without Trips. I look forward that big World Title match.

For a moment, the Heyman and Bischoff scenes felt too similar. Both with angry top stars and spiraling because of the draft. But based on where they were at this time, it's not like those portrayals are inaccurate. I will say that SmackDown still having Brock does make Heyman feel more in control than Eric atm. Not to mention his hitman Rhyno (and A-Train??). I'm curious if Bischoff will be able to right the ship or if this shakeup is the beginning of the end for his reign on RAW.

This is all just coming off the dome. I should've kept some notes while reading. There's a lot here to enjoy already, but those are my biggest takeaways for now. Good stuff fellas, I'll be following along!
