Wrestling Smarks Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame
2020 Induction Ceremony
___________________________________________________________
The time has come at last to honor our very first class of Pro Wrestling Hall of Famers. I want to thank every member of this forum for participating in this process and after the turnout this year, I am very much looking forward to building upon this in the years to come and making this a tradition for the forum. Things unfolded rather quickly this year with a fairly short window for nominations to take place, but despite that, the level of participation for this thing was great. Soon after we wrap this process up, I plan to make a thread where we can discuss and campaign for future inductees all year round, so that no one has to try to throw a list together on short notice.
Now, as you all probably know, we will be enshrining five inductees into our esteemed Hall of Fame this year. I will be revealing them one by one over the course of the day, and perhaps into tomorrow. Feel free to give your thoughts on the inductions as we go, sharing your favorite memories and discussing why you did (or didn't) vote for the inductees. With all that being said, it is time to begin announcing the inductees!
Starting things off, we will honor a man who is considered by many to be one of the greatest all-around performers in the history of wrestling. Known just as much for his huge personality and once in a generation charisma as he was for his in-ring proficiency. This man is noted as one of the top draws in wrestling history as well, being a key player during two different eras of unprecedented success in the industry - both during the "Golden Age" of wrestling, as well as The Monday Night Wars. This man's name is ingrained in pop culture in a way that few other wrestlers can claim to be. He is immediately distinguishable by his raspy voice and intense delivery, along with his signature phrases of "OOOOOH YEAH!" and "DIG IT!". To this day, many would argue his match with Ricky Steamboat at WrestleMania 3 is the most revolutionary, if not simply the greatest, match in WrestleMania history. He is a six-time World Champion across WWE and WCW. A titan of the wrestling world. Please welcome the first member of the Wrestling Smarks Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame --
"MACHO MAN"
RANDY SAVAGE
And what a worthy induction he is. Macho Man has built an enduring legacy in the sport, influencing multiple generations to follow with his flair for the dramatic and meticulous detail put into all aspects of his character. I am pleased to announce his induction and can think of no stronger cornerstone for a Hall of Fame than "The Macho King"!
The next inductee will be announced in a few hours!
