Well if they do it Bynum will be gone as soon as he gets there as he is apparently just a trade chip for teams to simply just dump his salary before it gets guaranteed and get themselves some good cap space.

I know. I just hope Mitch gets Clark or Waiters back to make the salary work.

It basically opens up Melo room as Jim Buss said after the game we promised kobe we would make a splash in 14.

Now if only they could get rid of Nash

Pau's expiring, so how would Pau-for-Bynum benefit the Lakers?

Apparently they would be getting more back. Would assume Waiters would be in the deal since they have been shopping him.

Simple. Bynum can be cut before the 7th. After that the other 6.5mil of his deal becomes guaranteed. As of right now he's only owed 950k of 6mil. La can pay that and clear a tax and cap number while also getting a guy like Waiters back. I'm saying waiters because that's what I've read, they don't want Bennett

This means they would then go into the summer with only Kobe, Sacre, Young, and the Cav left on the books. They would then stretch Nash unless he retires. Then they can have the cap for Melo and a ancillary player while retaining who they like with slight raises which is most likely Farmar, Meeks, X, and Hill

The Cavs would be fucking Blue to trade Waiters for a rental of Pau. Because we all know Pau wouldn't re-sign there.

Its the Cavs and Pau would sign back, he actually liked Mike Brown and has spoke of not wanting any pay cuts

I have trouble believing Pau at this point in this career will want to play for Cleveland.

If they pay, he will play. Long before Kobe even started negotiating an extension. Pau told the press he felt he was still and all star and should be paid like one. If they were willing to potentially give Andrew glass knees 12.5M , Pau will get 13-15 from them and there's no beating that
