The implication is that scum Smark would want us to think Ekko is scum who failed to make the kill, whilst the reasonable explanation is that Ekko was targeted. Building it up makes it feel more important too

I also told the thread I was looking to protect a townie tonight so I was TRYING to stop the kill on Ekko.
