GAME RESULTS SET TWO:
Ten games have been played in the Slam League, with each team getting a trio of games under their belts. We have a fair number of rematches, and have two featured games.
Featured Game One:
Trash Canners @ One Winged Batters at Shaka Sports Turf
In a rematch, the One Winged Batters aim to make it two in a row at home against the scavengers of the NJ area. But, the tone was set early with a home run on pitch number three. The results:
In a close game between the two, both teams brought the bats and the One Winged Batters fought hard after going down early, giving their fans a heart-filled performance. But the Trash Canners were one step ahead and picked up the scraps for the win 4-3.
STATS:
Jimenez started off the game with a big home run and the bats were the story on both teams. Sour Boy Jones showed he wasn't the worst and did get the first runs for the One Winged Batters and gave them a shot of momentum to stay in the game.
Both team's pitching staffs had issues keeping the hits down, but the Trash Canners pitching had an edge, though Kenny Powers was lights out near the end of the game and kept the One Winged Batters in it.
PLAYERS OF THE GAME:
Nick Buck managed to get moving on the bases with a stolen base and even a triple, but Mariam McGee and Dub Melton lead the bats for the Trash Canners.
Featured Game Two:
Big Woods @ Kamigahara Pirates at Founder's Field
After losing two against the Emperor Penguins, the Pirates are at home and are looking to chop the Big Woods down to size.
Despite getting more hits, the Pirates were unable to score with runners on the base while the Big Woods out-power them 8-2 thanks to the long ball. Both pitching staffs had challenges keeping the ball in the strike zone, but still got some fans. Just the story today was all about the home runs.
STATS
Four homeruns from the Big Woods really made the difference.
Six walks from the Pirates helped set up the bases for some monstrous home runs for the Big Woods.
PLAYERS OF THE GAME:
Jeff Maple got good wood on the ball with two home runs.
OTHER GAMES:
The Crazed Mecha Gorillas and the Queens finished off their three game set with two very close games, trading wins with two comebacks, including one in extras.
The Mighty Gulls blank the outsiders 12-0 before the One Winged Batters get back on track by doing the same to the Gulls 6-0.
The Wolf Pack pick up two wins, one against the Big Woods, the other against the Outsiderz.
The Pirates still struggle to find the win category, having a closer game against the Emperor Penguins, but losing by one.
As for the Emperor Penguins, they remain the only undefeated team by also beating the Trash Canners 9-4.

After each team has 10 games played, I'll start updating the individual stats every five games. I just want enough time to pass where I can get each pitcher 2-3 starts and enough games pass where batting averages settle a touch.
