Jimmy Jacobs - I rarely see this guy show up nowadays in discussions, mostly due to his inactivity and very rare schedule. He also went MIA from all social media as well. It pisses me off when people refer to him as "the guy WWE fired for a picture". Jacobs is one of the biggest "what if" scenarios for ROH, and my favorite wrestler. The Leader of The Age Of The Fall, and the guy that gave Seth Rollins his first big break, Jacobs is one the most creative minds. He's the only guy I can think of that capatlized on the emo character of the 2007s to a tea. He could've been ROH World Champ at one point, but due to drug addiction, and the fact he was surrounded by guys like Danielson and Aries, as well as then Tyler Black looking like the next big star, Jacobs was always shafted compared to better wrestlers. I don't think people dislike him, I think people just didn't get enough of a chance to see him.
CM Punk - I guess you can see the theme, I love wrestlers influenced by punk rock or music in general. Punk's one of, if not, the most controversial figure in most wrestling forums. Lot of people hate him, lot of people love him. His name alone gets some weird looks. I have fond memories, and in a lot of weird ways I've found myself having assholeish tendencies like him in the past. Anyway, he's in your head rent free.
Shane Douglas - Cool gimmick, the pre-cursor of ECW, and the nicest man I've ever met. I guess his work-shoot promos work wonders, people think he's still bitter. Far from the truth. Never seen someone so in love with the sport years after his run. He was so comitted to his gimmick, he'd go out with Francine. I love the story he tells, saying they'd go to hotel rooms, and that the boys would call him out and try to get in fights with him. A genius at manipulation and one of the best promo guys there ever was.
Larry Sweeney - Again, I don't think people dislike him, but please, for the love of God, if this name doesn't ring a bell; YouTube him and enjoy the best indy promo ever. "Sweet 'n' Sour" Larry Sweeney tragically passed away earlier in the decade after a battle of depression, hanging himself from a wrestling ring pole. He was, in a lot of ways, a best friend to guys like Claudio Castingoli, Eddie Kingston, and Chris Hero. He's not talked about a lot, and it saddens me.
Gallows/Anderson - Only time you'll see me say fuck WC is for putting them on their worst tag list for two years straight. NJPW showed their talent on full display. Hilarious promos, funny guys, and for awhile, everyone DID like them. WWE fuckin' sucks with tag divisions sadly.
Trevor Murdoch - If you don't watch NWA Powerrr, please do. He's old school as it gets and a fun as fuck guy to watch. He's honestly better here then he ever was with WWE. Him v. Aldis was a joy.
Paul London - Another favorite. I think he's awesome, but I think he's semi-retired. I don't see him around much, but he's funny as hell. Awesome wrestler. Sucks he and Kendrick aren't buddies any more. From what I've seen they had some falling out. Looked like best friends in their shoot interviews.
There's probably more. Sweeney/Jacobs/London are the ones I'd wish everyone would check out more.
