Wrestlemania didn't do 1.3m buys after all.

The latest PPV buyrate figures released by WWE on 5/22 show that WrestleMania 28 did about 1.25 million buys, down from the initial estimate of 1.3 million. Still, they were about 200,000 buys ahead of last year's event.

You might be, but I doubt if WWE's disappointment is very strong with 200,000 more buys this year than last year. That's solid growth.

To be fair, Miz was the least important part of the main event even last year. It was still all about Rock and Cena.

Anyway, I read this yesterday and I'm not surprised it didn't break the record because I was surprised it did in the first place. I was pretty skeptical, because with all the publicity they got from the whole Donald Trump thing at WM23, I couldn't believe that Rock/Cena could have done more business than that. Turns out I was right.
