We learned on Monday Night Raw that Bryan will have a chance to compete for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania 30, but only if he can defeat Triple H prior to the main event. Therefore, after months of begging and complaining, Daniel Bryan fans may finally get what they have demanded for so long.
Excited fans who felt like their favorite WWE superstar was purposely overlooked flooded the internet in support of Bryan after the announcement was made.
Followers of the “Yes Movement” have not learned anything from previous situations involving the Authority and Bryan. If they had learned anything from previous encounters, then they would know not to get their hopes up too soon. Many believe that Bryan will walk out of Wrestlemania as the champion, even though there’s been no final decision made by the WWE regarding who will actually win the match.
Bryan’s fans are once again setting themselves up for failure by putting themselves in position to be highly upset if Bryan doesn’t win the title.
Personally, I do not believe that the bearded superstar has what it takes to hold onto the gold for an extended period. He does not bring enough versatility to the table to keep general WWE fans happy for long. The WWE realizes that the number of fans who come to see anyone besides Bryan will always outweigh those fans who do show up to support Bryan every week.
Therefore, the WWE will do their best to keep both sides happy, but they will ultimately do what is best for business, regardless of who the fan favorite may be at the time.
Here’s what I believe is going to happen at Wrestlemania 30: Bryan will defeat Triple H, giving his fans some hope headed into the main event, then their hopes and dreams will be shattered after Bryan goes on the lose the match to either Batista or Randy Orton.
In the meantime, Bryan’s fans have a reason to back off the WWE, giving them a little room to breathe headed into the biggest event of the year. If they still decided to hijack shows, then they could possibly scare the company into putting the title around Bryan’s waist in April.
Therefore, I guess Bryan’s fans feel like they have won the battle, but the war is far from over. When it does end and the all of the smoke clears, those same fans may end up being highly disappointed.
