WPC MMA Event #1 [The Beginning]

Next weekend - the World Prediction Championship MMA Series will officially begin. It will runs as a separate competition to the main WPC, but will do so under the same banner. All our welcome to predict, and join in the fun.

In regards to scoring Undercard wins are worth 0.5 points and Main Card fights are worth 1 point.

The first event in this series will Event #1 The Beginning that will be a double header featuring the Bellator 265 card and UFC on ESPN: Cannonier vs. Gastelum. With the winner of the card becoming the inaugural WPC MMA Prediction League Champion. The results, will also determine overall rankings.

Cards for this competition will generally go up a week before the first event begins.

Deadline for predictions will be Friday 20th August at 18:00 EST.

The first weekend of the WPC MMA Series began with a rocky start, largely affected by a number of fight cancellations and changes to the Bellator which resulted in far less matches than previously scheduled. With six matches being dropped from the card, one match was also remove from the UFC side as well. In regards to scoring - as shown on the prediction card [not the official fight cards on the night] Undercard wins are worth 0.5 points and Main Card win are worth 1.0 point.

The intention of Event #1 The Beginning was to crown the inaugural WPC MMA Prediction League Champion as well as the results determining overall rankings. The results from the show are shown in the able below:

With Necro & The Fourth Wall tied in 1st position, the WPC MMA Prediction World Championship can not be awarded. However, at Event #2 - the pair will face each other in a head-to-head match with the winner leaving as the inaugural champion. The fixtures determined for the next event are based on rankings - although with people tied not all matchups are evenly balanced. Win and Loss records will come into play next event, but results will always be calculated by a points tally . The complete matchups for Event #2 are shown below:
