World Prediction Championship 2021 Event #9 Results

This weekend saw a double header weekend that saw points being earned being split between the 'I Love Wrestling' Division and the NJPW Division. On a weekend that see all three titles belts on the line, as well as the first round of the 'King of the Ring' Tournament. Our first focus will be the WPC Grand Prix Event Championship, which going into the event was in the possession of Necro.

With three predictors tied in first position, we refer to the rules in place for the GPE Championship:

- everyone not competing for another championship belt, is eligible to win the belt
- if predictors are tied in 1st place, the predictor with the lowest overall differential wins the belt
- if predictor can not be separated by their differential, then the belt is vacated
- the challenger has the advantage, if two predictors are tied 1st and one of them is the title holder, the champion loses the tie

Going into the event Smark had a differential of +4, LadyHotRod had a differential of +1 - but due to have the lowest overall differential of -7 prior to the event - Sky is the new WPC Grand Prix Event Champion.

Our match for the Open The Prediction Gate Championship ended in a tie, which means that although the belt can not be cut in half and therefore not awarded to anyone both Jeff and Juice will advance to face the WPC Grand Champion in what will be the second triple threat match of the season for the the most important title in the competition. The question now is, who will the pair be facing?

With a margin of two wins between both predictors, the reign of Chris as the WPC Grand Champion has finally come to end after 35 days as the champion which included three successful title defences. It is now however time to congratulate Haza, who is now your new...WPC GRAND CHAMPION!

The first round of the King of the Ring also took place this weekend and I can confirm that at this stage in the competition seven out of the eight ties saw clear cut winners, with the only tied taking place between Haza and LadyHotRod. In order to try and break the tie, the results from Event #10 will be used to determine the winner of the tie. Below is the current bracket - with the date for the second round, yet to be determined.
