World Prediction Championship 2021 Event #8 Results

The original card of eight matches, is cut down to seven as Tony Deppen was unable to travel to Los Angeles for the event. In what is very much an experimental night for the World Prediction Championship, our first focus for the event was the Grand Prix Event Championship. The scheduled champion and challengers for Event #9, were the only four ineligible to compete for the championship including reigning champion Juice - which of course means that a new champion is on the cards.

With just one loss shy of a Perfect Round, Necro proves himself as being on a hot streak as he has been ranked 1st in the last three events (1st Event #6, Tied 1st Event #7 & 1st Event #8) which means that Necro is now a two time WPC Grand Prix Event Champion. If he manages to win the strap for a third time, he will earn himself a future shot at the WPC Grand Championship.

Event #8 was important, because it was acting as a test event for a potential future tag team division in the WPC. As a tester, three trios were put together based on previous event rankings. The combined results of each team will determine the result of the contest.

In an incredible close contest, with the difference between 1st and 3rd being two wins - Team Necro: Necro, Sky & Deth will be immortalised as the first winners of a Trios Match in the WPC.

Our last main focus is a scheduled match between Jeff and Lethal Banks, with both predictor having drawn in Grand Championship matches. The winner of this contest knows, that at a future date they will challenge for the WPC Grand Championship.

In a strange turn of events, Jeff and Lethal Banks ended the night tied with the same score. If they were a tag team, perhaps they would be called 'The Draw Kings'. With nothing to split the pair up, perhaps the Championship Committee will allow for these two predictors to face off in the future in a second match. Maybe.

Ahead of Event #9, the WPC has already booked the Grand Championship and Open The Prediction Gate Championship matches, as well as having decided the seeding for the King of the Ring bracket.

The only change is that Necro has now claimed the Grand Prix Event Championship. The overall standings have now been updated, although they don't have a knock on effect on any matches booked for next week's card.
