WOW: Women of Wrestling relaunch... not even starring Tessa Blanchard anymore, wow

Fightful has learned that a relaunch of WOW Women of Wrestling will be announced, with a press conference planned Wednesday night. Thus far, the only major talent we've heard of attached to the relaunch is Tessa Blanchard, and another unnamed former WOW talent. Aside from that, we're told a roster is not in place, and that the relaunch won't occur imminently. We have not been told if Blanchard has put pen to paper on a contract, but have been told that's the plan. We've also learned that the "NGW" teasers that were running are connected to the WOW relaunch, as they are one in the same. LA Lakers owner Jeanie Buss has been attached to to the project as she still technically owns the company. Fightful reached out to nearly a dozen former WOW talent who had not been clued into the plans, and had not been contacted for the relaunch. Most told Fightful that they haven't heard from WOW creator David McLane since last year when they were e-mailed and asked to not post in regards to controversies of alleged bullying surrounding Blanchard. The relaunch itself has been known about within women's wrestling circles for months, as several additional names were contacted for the project, but none ended up landing outside of Blanchard.

They were struggling to sign talent as it is, and now they're attaching themselves to this piece of backstage poison this company's going to get the death it deserves

I assume they won't be able to be shown on AXS anymore since anthem kicked all the wrestling off besides Impact Impact they bought it. Shit was trash anyway, my dad always watched it bc it aired after NJPW lmao

Yeah I totally forgotten about those allegations involving Tessa but I do remember a few people saying remember when you spit on that person and called them a Racial slur in Japan and I was like girl you weren't in that Company or Country when that happened how do you know if that happened so I don't know who to believe with that honestly. Still Blanchard the talent is something I've been missing watching week to week she was on such a roll in Impact and I hope maybe this signing makes WOW a Show I can get behind like the other Women based Promotions.

I didn't realize they had officially shutdown. I thought it was a longer than usual break due to the pandemic.

Any women's division that needs immediate legitimacy would be smart to hire Tessa Blanchard as their centerpiece and she was already there.

I think this is especially important for her because I think just getting back into the fold is necessary if she ever wants to work for a major player.
