Investigators:
Kirie Minami - [The Transfer Student]
Kirie is a new transfer student to Shiokawa, Japan. Her innate ability to psychically observe the supernatural led her to be a lightning rod for the spirits of the underworld. Could the spirits that follow her be connected to what is happening in the doomed town?
You are Kirie, the Transfer Student. With a highly attuned sense of the supernatural, you’re also a natural talent for spells and what could be considered “magic”. As the Transfer Student, you are the Investigator Aligned Gunsmith. Once per night, three times per game, you may choose to investigate a player and see if they have the ability to kill. It will not specify whether or not it is an active or passive role. Additionally, if they have already used up all of their shots, they will come back negative.
Aiko Takahashi - [The Swimming Team Captain]
Aiko is the ever-popular swimming team captain at Shiokawa High. She underwent a harrowing experience once, in which the spirit of a dead man nearly drowned her. Ever since then, she’s noticed more strange occurrences as the days and weeks pass. She’s determined to find out what is happening to her town.
You are Aiko Takahashi, the Swimming Team Captain. Somehow being the best swimmer on the team does wonders for your attack capabilities. You’re not only the fastest possible combatant, you can deal damage six ways from sunday. You are the Investigator Aligned Duelist. Once in this game, during the day, you may choose to duel another player. This will replace the lynch in its stead and by the end of the day, whoever has the most votes will die.
Mizuki Hamasaki - [The Teen Idol]
Mizuki is a rising young idol from Shiokawa, Japan. Her ability to charm people is noted as one of her key traits. When her friend Aiko nearly died from drowning, Mizuki returned to Shiokawa to help her solve the mysteries of this town. Still, it hasn’t stopped her from attempting to capitalize on the supernatural to further her career; what’s more popular than solving occult mysteries?
You are Mizuki Hamasaki, the Teen Idol. You’re extremely popular and have connections to some big executives in Tokyo. As such, you are the Investigator Aligned Loved Princess. Should you be lynched during the day, the next day-phase will be skipped. This does not go into effect if you are killed at night.
Kouji Tagawa - [The Photographer]
Kouji knows that there are things out there that the Government keeps secret. So many supernatural events and phenomena are swept under the rug, especially in Shiokawa, Japan. Armed with his camera and wits, he’s going to expose the reality of the occult and make sure the world knows that these things exist. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words.
You are Kouji Tagawa, the Photographer. Having saved his friend against the cruel Scissor Woman, he and his photograph have shown more horrible realities than one would expect… As the Photographer, you are the Investigator Aligned Watcher. Once at night, twice in this game, you may choose to watch a player and see who visits them. You will not see what power is used on them.
Mimi - [The Medical Student]
Mimi is a medical student from Shiokawa, Japan. When rumors of dark spirits and evil cults gathering in the woods outside the town began to grow in number, Mimi returned home and decided to put all her skills to use by finding out whatever the hell it is that is going on here.
You are Mimi, the Medical Student. You are focused on using your medical skills to protect people against the various inhuman beasts and Old Gods, to the point of obsession and at the cost of your sanity. As the Medical Student, you are the Investigator Aligned Medic. Once at night, three times per game, you may choose to protect another player. You cannot protect yourself, due to your obsession.
Miku - [The Rioter]
Miku’s whole life story is one big joke to her. A sick grandmother in need of aid, and with Shiokawa, Japan rising in chaos, violence is the only way to earn her keep. She relishes in the violence, debauchery, and occult. However, as much as she destroys, she loves her town and she is not about to let some Old Gods destroy it.
You are Miku, the Rioter. As the Rioter, you initially were a creator of chaos and went against the Investigators until they decided to help you out by buying prescription drugs for your grandmother. As such, you are the Investigator Aligned Miller. If you are investigated, you will return an unfavorable result.
Moriko Ishii - [The Hunter’s Daughter]
Something is killing the animals in the forest outside Shiokawa, and Moriko is most displeased. Her father warned her that there are things in this world that are far too dangerous for her to confront, but that doesn’t matter. She has her trusty shotgun in hand and a pissed-off attitude. Whatever it is that is causing danger to the forest, she will put some shells into it.
You are Moriko Ishii, the Hunter’s Daughter. You aren't afraid to get a little dirty if it comes down to it, and with your shotgun, others would have to be afraid to push you around. As the Hunter’s Daughter, you are known as the Investigator Aligned Paranoid Gun Owner. If another player visits you at night, you will shoot them out of panic.
Yashiro Kawaji - [The Priest]
Yashiro left Shiokawa years ago to pursue the priesthood in a seminary far away. Though he hadn’t yet completed his training, something happened that forced him to come back to the town. He received a letter from his sister, beckoning him to return and help fight whatever it is that is happening in that town. Yashiro took the first train home, an ominous feeling growing from this letter… After all, his sister has been dead for years.
You are Yashiro Kawaji, the Priest. As the Priest, you are the Investigator Aligned Faith Healer. Once at night, three times per game, you may visit another player to protect them. If there is already another protective power on them, you will reset it (they will no longer have protection).
Akane - [The Young Heiress]
Akane is a young heiress from outside Shiokawa, Japan. She arrived in the town upon hearing the death of her “great-uncle”. At the manor, she and several others would discover that they were part of a ritual by their supposed dead relative to cheat death. After being saved by Kirie, Akane agreed to help the group as best as she could.
You are Akane, the Young Heiress. As a member of the group, your vote is your best power. You are the Investigator Aligned Vanilla Townie. You have no special powers other than your vote.
Iwa - [The Chef]
Iwa is one of the group’s many friends in Shiokawa, Japan. He’s a good cook and a good judge of character, even if he happens to be a little cocky. Not to mention for some ungodly reason, he looks like some famous professional wrestler. Could be a coincidence, but Iwa doesn’t mind. His good friend Haru can at least vouch for his character.
You are Iwa, the Chef. As a member of the group, your vote is your best power. Investigator Aligned Vanilla Townie. You have no special powers other than your vote.
Satomura - [The Scarred Thug]
Satomura is a gentleman from outside Shiokawa, Japan. When his “great-uncle” died, he arrived in town to visit the vigil. It was only then that he and the others realized that this wasn’t any vigil, it was a ritual so that their supposedly dead relative could cheat death! After being saved by Kirie Minami, Satomura agreed to help the group as best he could.
Satomura is the Scarred Thug. As a member of the group, your vote is your best power. You are the Investigator Aligned Vanilla Townie. You have no special powers other than your vote.
Ryuichi - [The Occult Informant]
Ryuichi has been inside the local cults and has studied them for years as an undercover agent. His disguise hasn’t been perfect, having to prove his loyalty by breaking his own hands; his knowledge of the goals of these cults is invaluable, nonetheless. It’s only a matter of time before the cult finally tracks him down.
You are Ryuichi, the Occult Informant. Without the use of your hands, your only power is your word, which is more than useful on its own. You are the Investigator Aligned Non-Voter. You will have no vote for the entirety of the game, but to balance this, it will take an extra vote to kill you.
Ryoko - [The Park Ranger]
Ryoko is aware of the cults hanging around the forest; she isn’t too keen on them hiding around at night. She is willing to help the investigators on their quest to stop the old god if at least it means peace and quiet for the Shiokawa National Park. Plus, she knows all the side routes through the forest.
You are Ryoko, the Park Ranger. You’re willing to help the investigators through the forest as long as it gets rid of those cults hiding out in there. You are the Investigator Aligned Vigilante. Twice per game, and once at night, you may choose to shoot another player. If you do so and that player turns out to be a fellow Investigator, you will die alongside them.
Horrors:
SOMETHING TRULY EVIL - [I’VE FINALLY FOUND YOU]
There are some things that are evil in this world. This thing, however, is truly evil. A malevolent force of pain and despair, nobody knows why it exists or where it came from, only that it lives off the blood of its victims. Once it has you in its grasp, there is no escape.
You are SOMETHING TRULY EVIL. You are nothing but the personification of evil, malice, and malignancy. Your mission is to stalk the players and force them to submit to you. At the beginning of the game, an announcement will be made that all players have been caught within your sight. Each night, you may choose to visit a player and demand sacrifice from them. They will not be made aware of what their choices do, but their choices are as follows:
A Sacrifice of Blood - They will choose to kill themselves to appease your evil hunger. This will break through any and all protection they have, essentially turning it into a strongman shot.
A Sacrifice of Mind - Any results they may have gained that night will be lost. They are refunded their power as compensation. If they don’t have a power that gives results, they will lose their vote for the next day.
A Sacrifice of Time - Time slowly drips away from this player. This player will have lost all memory of their powers and how to use them. They will become vanilla.
In addition, the first time you are investigated, you will return a favorable result. You are also 1x bulletproof. Even better, once at night, twice during the game, you may track a player to see who they visit. As a bonus, because of your horrific nature, when you visit a player, your identity will be corrupted from any investigative roles [Meaning you will show up as “SOMETHING TRULY EVIL” instead of “[Player Name]”. You win when all living players have made a sacrifice to you, or you have survived to the end of the game.
(Kyoko) - [The Missing Hiker]
Kyoko managed to survive in the forest long enough to be rescued by Moriko and protected by the others in the group. According to her tale, she was hiking in the woods and using tracking devices to find her way through when the forest turned on her and tried to kill her! The rest of the group isn’t sure what to make of her story, but if those wounds are any indicator…
You are Kyoko, the Missing Hiker. Having survived a harrowing experience inside the cursed forest thanks in part to her tracking devices, she now serves as a useful member of the group. You are the Investigator Aligned Tracker. Once at night, twice during the game, you may choose to track a player and see who they visit, but not what powers they use.

3 Deaths - 1 BP Vest
5 Deaths - 1 Alignment Investigation
6 Deaths - 1 Vig Shot
10 Deaths - Independent Victory
As a bonus, when you are investigated, you will return a favorable result.
(Maria) - [Haunted Artist]
Maria’s one of those folks that has a sudden need to draw the horrors she sees. Perhaps it's some form of therapy, or perhaps it helps her ward off other evils, but she is for sure a haunted person. The group of investigators also look to her as she may have some hidden clues within her drawings. Outside of that though, she’s just as scared and vulnerable as anyone else.
You are Maria, the Haunted Artist. As a member of the group, your vote is your best power. You are the Investigator Aligned Developer. At the beginning of the game, you have nothing but your vote. As the game goes on, you will accumulate items that you can use. You will not be told what items you will receive, and they are at random.
Old Gods:
Ithotu - [The Eternal Flame]
You are Ithotu, The Eternal Flame. Your flame is unending, destructive, and infused within a Marble statue. Because you make things stronger, more dangerous, and more deadly, you are the Old God Aligned Beloved Double Voter. Your votes are worth two in this game. Additionally, it requires two extra votes to kill you during the day.
(Hawado & Miyaki) - [The Weird Fiction Writer]
Hawado is a fiction writer from outside Shiokawa, Japan. They were summoned to Shiokawa upon the death of their supposed “Great-Uncle”. Bringing his wife Miyaki, the two would realize that they were part of a horrible ritual alongside three other people. Thanks to the efforts of their “relative” Kirie Minami, the Horrible Old Man was defeated and all were saved. Thankful for their survival, they agreed to help Kirie and her group as best they could.
You are Hawado & Miyaki, the Weird Fiction Writer. As a member of the group, your vote is your best power. With two of you, that makes it better. You are the Investigator Aligned Double Voter. Your vote is worth two.
Ath-Yolazsth - [The Devourer of Stars]
You are Ath-Yolazsth, the Devourer of Stars. You’ve given mages the gift of magic, but in doing so, you’ve made it all the easier to find and devour the earth. Should you awaken, there will be nothing to stop you. As such you are the Old God Aligned Vengeful Gift Giver. Each night you may choose to give a gift to another player. It should be noted that these gifts may be negative (will kill the recipient), positive utility (vig or bp vest), or do absolutely nothing. The items include the following:
Blue Gem - Does Nothing if Used
Ritual Dagger - 1x Vigilante Shot
Goblet of Blood - Kills the Player if Used (Self-Suicide)
Lucky Earrings - Does Nothing if Used
Ritual Robe - 1x BP Vest

Glass Eye - 1x Alignment Investigation
Additionally, if you are killed during the day, you will choose who you take with you as revenge; if you are killed at night, you will reflexively kill whoever killed you.
(Shiba) - [The Adorable Shopkeep]
Shiba gives supplies to the investigators in exchange for monetary gain, and they visit him often. His adorable nature is something of a safe haven to the investigators, and they’re known to have quite a few great items on sale! What a good dog!
You are Shiba, the Adorable Shopkeep. You are the Investigator Aligned Gift Giver. Each night you may give an item to another player. You don’t know what they do, however, so it is a mixed bag.
Goizo - [The Thing Forsaken by God]
You are Goizo, the Thing Forsaken by God. They stare at you and you stare back, waiting, hoping finally for the day that you can escape from your prison and devour all of mankind through mirrors. You are the Old God Aligned Immune Beholder. Each night, you may choose to investigate another player. If the player also has an investigative role, you will be told their results. You can only do this three times per game. Additionally, the first time you are investigated, you will return a favorable result.
(Kana) - [The Best Friend]
Kana is one of Aiko’s close friends and definitely a troublemaker. When that strange biologist returned from his trip, Kana was the one who wanted to see just what the heck it was that he was into. Well, needless to say things did not turn out well for Kana, as those eels had burrowed and nested into her eye. With no time to spare, Aiko saved Kana’s life by stabbing her eye open and getting the eels out. So grateful was Kana that she agreed to help Aiko and her group in investigating the Old Gods.
You are Kana, the Best Friend. Although you sometimes get into trouble, you still are able to find a few items of note from the scraps left behind in an abandoned area. As such, you are the Investigator Aligned Beholder. Each night, you may investigate another player. If the player also has an investigative role, you will be told their results. You can only do this three times per game.
Cthac-Atorasu - [The Eternal Web]
You are Cthac-Atorasu, the Eternal Web. All-devouring and all consuming, you eagerly await the day you escape your cursed cocoon and eat all of mankind. You are the Old God Aligned Bus-Driving Jack-of-All-Trades. Once at night, twice during the game, you may choose to switch two players’ positions. Any role that would affect Player A now affects Player B, and vice versa. Additionally, you have a one-shot of several abilities: 1x Role Cop (You may choose another player and see what their full role card), 1x Strongman (A kill that will break through all protection), 1x Rolestopping (This will stop all roles including kills from affecting another player), and 1x Commuter (The player will be commuted out of the game for the night without their knowledge).
(Haru) - [The Yakuza Driver]
Haru is a driver for the Yakuza, a man known for loving cigarettes and violence. One day, he and his friends went into an abandoned manor… he was the only one who survived. Determined to get revenge for his friends, he joined the others and with his knowledge of the criminal underworld, helped them get through some pretty tough places. As long as he has some smokes and things to hit, he’s satisfied.
You are Haru, the Yakuza Driver. With an addiction to cigarettes and a Yakuza card, you have a pretty balanced lifestyle of criminality and violence. Your new friends also look to you to help them through the worst of it. You are the Investigator Aligned Jack-of-All-Trades. You have several one-time abilities that you can use to your advantage. The abilities are as follows: 1x Alignment Investigation, 1x Vigilante Shot, 1x Protection Shot, and 1x Jailer Shot.
Ygothaeg - [The Irresistible Gaze]
You are Ygothaeg, the Irresistible Gaze. Long have you slept in the depths of the Mariana Trench until nuclear testing awoke you. Your gaze beckons humanity into the oceans, to become one with the Deep Ones and ruled over by the massive fish-like entity. You are the Old God Redirecting Neighborizer. Once at night, twice per game, you may choose to redirect one player’s actions towards another. Additionally, once during the game, you may choose to neighborize another player at night and begin communications with them.
(Mr. OOO) - [The Struggling Artist]
Mr. OOO is a struggling artist and novelist looking for his next big story. Living in Shiokawa, Japan surely helps, but he’s been missing out on so much of the action, he’d like to join up with some of the investigators and see what they have to tell. He’s friendly enough it seems, and for some reason he looks vaguely like some other famous artist.
You are Mr. OOO, the Struggling Artist. Joining the investigating group as a chance to possibly create a whole new terrifying story for your readers, you want to see it all. You are the Investigator Aligned Neighborizer. Once per game, you may choose to neighborize another player at night and open communications with them.
