Connecticut woman Candace Kiley was arrested for the attack on a 12-year-old friend of her younger sister.
A 24-year-old Connecticut woman pummeled a 12-year-old girl at a family birthday party for "looking at" her 30-year-old boyfriend, authorities said.
Candace Kiley was busted Tuesday in North Branford for grabbing the pre-teen by her hair and hurling her to the floor, authorities said.
Kiley confronted the girl in the kitchen while she was waiting for the suspect's boyfriend to finish cleaning up a spilled drink, cops told NorthBranfordPatch.
Kiley claimed the girl had "been looking at him all day" and then pounced on her, police told the website.
"She landed flat on her back, hitting the back of head on the floor," North Branford Police Department Lt. David D'Ancicco told The Register Citizen.
"Everybody immediately came to the 12-year-old's aid," he noted.
The victim, who is a friend of the suspect's younger sister, suffered a bump on her head, but was not hospitalized.
Kiley left the July 23 party before cops arrived, forcing them to secure a warrant before arresting her.
The New Haven woman was charged with third-degree assault, disorderly conduct and risk of injury to a minor. She was released pending a court appearance on Aug. 23.
