Last post for me in this thread.
how did he fuck up the match? That's what they were grading him on, ring work, nothing else. Roles were well established by the time WM came to town. That doesn't come into it.... The guy had one match/angle in 2008 and FUCKED IT UP and thus has no place on a 'best worker of 2008' list. Anything else is another debate.
You check out the Mania PPV numbers, dude? You said, Show/Mayweather was better than a spot-fest. As much as I'm not a big fan of that style, I don't see how a failed angle is better than ANYTHING.
I agree.I didn't say I didn't appreciate Henry, but he is not in Vader's league.
Shortly after the draft ECW became the only worthwhile WWE show, from an in ring point of view. Matt Hardy was a big reason why the show rocked. Matt's work with Finlay and Henry ended up being some of the most enjoyable TV wrestling last year. He's more of a top 30 guy than a top 10, though. And Matt Hardy...my God, you are truly putting Matt Hardy as the best US wrestler with main stream exposure in the list. Do I really have to go in depth to explain how that is wrong.
I agree, too high. Looked great, but didn't have the matches last year.Rey Mysterio was out for most of 2008, and since his return, while his matches have been good, the only ones that you can look back and say OMFG are Edge vs Rey RR and CM Punk vs Rey Armageddon. That hardly makes you the 6th in the list.
One of the greatest wrestlers ever, can still clearly go, MVP on ECW - the wrestling heavy WWE show. Wrestling matches are more than finishers.- Finlay? Oh yeah, I guess having a comedy act as the finish for all his matches do the trick.
vs Chavo was a match of the year candidate. It's a shame you don't watch ECW.- Evan Bourne? FCW is barely countable, and in WWE he has had 20 matches max, in which I can bet only his match against Matt Hardy went over 10 minutes.
Far better than HBK, at least in '08.- Big Show and Mark Henry in Top 20, while HBK is in the 50's.
See previous comment.- Negro Casas being in there
Fun brawler? Fun match with Undertaker?- Festus, my God, Festus being in there
KENTA can't even put together a singles match; Morrison gets praised for his tag work because people have low standards these days when it comes to tag wrestling. Show me a Morrison match better than Chavo/Bourne. HBK's an old, decaying effeminate man who tries to work like it's '94. If you're going to wrestling when you're that age, change your style.Jobber Chavo Guerrero topping the likes of John Morrison, KENTA, HBK.
Impossible to be good in TNA, didn't have any good matches last year.- AJ Styles barely making the list.
Angle's deteriorated badly, has the same laughable formulaic matches all the time. HHH is a stiff, can't believe anyone finds him entertaining. Edge is a lanky, overpushed dude with horrible indy offense. Fear the spear, indeed. Joe's become a lazy, thigh slapping hog, which is a shame since he was great before TNA. Lynn's a delusional old man who only knows how to work spotfests.- Kurt Angle, Triple H, Edge, Samoa Joe, Jerry Lynn not making the list.
One great match > a dozen average matches.- Floyd Mayweather, who had one match in 2008, making the list.
Yes, try talking about the non-mainstream wrestlers since those are the ones people tend to look over. I think that'll make for more interesting discussion as opinions have clearly been set on the mainstream wrestlers.Do you want me to continue?
