That's probably the only good thing about it. Getting them involved when they wouldn't have otherwise. But eh, I just find it pointless, especially cuz whoever wins it only carries the trophy for a while and that's it. They completely forget about it.

I understand that. I enjoy it though and look forward to it. They could and should just drop the trophy and have it be just a match though. The trophy is pointless.

Getting rid of the trophy would make it even more pointless lol. They wouldn't have anything to carry or show for winning the match. Just have bragging rights for a bit.

I disagree completely for several reasons. The trophy is silly looking and it tries to perpetuate the idea that it is the goal of winning a battle royal named after Andre the Giant.

Andre was not a guy who cared for things like trophies or belts. He cared deeply about wrestling and his friends. By removing the trophy, the battle royal becomes less of a competition and more of a tribute to a man who won more battle royals than anyone else .

Paying tribute to someone has nothing to do with winning a tacky trophy. Or winning at all. When you compete in the memory of someone by competing in the activity this person was the best at, you truly honor the memory of that person. Therefore it is the action of being in the battle royal, not the outcome or prize that truly honors the man's memory.

Your right, I never looked at it that way.
