I hear all these people saying, this was a great fun wrestlemania. Best in years, Good show top to bottom, but my question is do you think it will stand the test of time. As we know WM are known for stand out matches and great main events. How do you think this show will fair.

I really think in 5 years from now it will be lost in the shuffle. Other than Flair/HBK the main events didnt really deliver so much in terms of classic moments and history. I'll be more likely to remember the show/floyd match opposed to taker/edge.

Heres the list of the past main events

Taker vs Edge
Cena vs HBK
Cena vs HHH
HHH vs Batista
HHH vs HBK vs Beniot
Lesnar Angle
HHH vs Jericho
Austin vs ROck

see my point, two guys in their first headline in over 10 years (for taker)

Agree/Disagree/thoughts

Only Flair vs Michaels will stand the test of time (And it should!) but I doubt we'll be talking much about anything else in the future.

I think both main events, MITB, and Flair will stand the test of time.

Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels put on one of the greatest WrestleMania matches if you look at the past 5 WrestleMania years and it will stand the test of time for more years to come no doubt about that.

It might be one of the best WrestleMania matches as it was Ric Flair's last match; also the storyline was well build and perfect. Both of them worked really well inside the ring with some really unexpected twists in the ring.

Undertaker/Edge was also good as well but not better than Flair/Michaels. The Undertaker won the World Championship once again and so this match will be remembered for a long time to come. All the other matches on the card were good but they won't stand the "test of time".

Depends on how much future DVDs feature Ric Flair's final match. It may hype it up in the future, and people may go back and get it on DVD in years to come. But in terms of thsoe who watched it on Sunday, apart from Flair-Michaels it was forgettable. Still a very decent card nonetheless, but it didn't have that magic - i suppose the Flair match rightly took all the magic that night!

This WM will be like WM9. This was one of the worst WM's just because there really was no one match that stole the show. Maybe Flair vs Michaels, but only because it was Rics last match. I expected a little more from it, Michaels carried Flair all the way through, and it was obvious.

Did Michaels actually injure his ribs when he hit the table? Because he looked hurt. That will be the only match they remember imo. No match really stood out they were all pretty average.

i did say it was a fun wrestlemania and i enjoyed it, it still doesn't mean its close to 19, 18, 17, 16 and others. and its exactly cuz of what you said, other than hbk's match, it will not be remembered. but its the same with last year's WM, 22 and perhaps even 21 :p.

main events that i wont forget:
angle vs lesnar
angle vs hbk
austin vs rock (all of em)
mcmahon vs hbk
mcmahon vs hogan
hhh vs jericho
ROCK VS HOGAN
shane vs vince
TLC/MITB matches...

see? nothing frm WM24 can go up there except for hbk's match with flair.

I give HHH vs. Cena credit, i think that will be remembered. (Cena gets passed the torch)

I thought two matches from last year. Taker vs Batista, and HBK vs. Cena.

Flair vs HBK this year.

I'd put those matches against the ones from 16-20

i think its clear your moving out of the wwe fan phase. If liked HHH vs Jericho but not HHH vs Cena??? If i remember correctly, they were yawning in Jericho vs HHH. Maybe you just don't like Cena/Batista

Vince vs Shane? They arent even wrestlers. HBK vs Vince?

I'll go on record to say HBK/Cena and Taker/Batista are the best double main event in wm history. Or two top matches on a show. It was new school vs old school. Classic stuff.

Shane/Vince from 17 blows away any Cena/Triple H stuff. I know those 2 aren't wrestlers, but just the match itself meant something special at the time, and they delivered a great match way beyond my expectations. It's much different when it's Father/Son for dominance in the family that happens like once in a light year as to opposed a normal ME title match that we get to see at every PPV. Not to say that the Cena/Triple H stuff wasn't important, but the build and the match itself has no comparison to the delivery of Vince/Shane, or any of the last 4 match from 17 for that matter.

^^thanks. and hbk vs vince was AWESOME. the build up and the storyline....plus the match itself. its 4x better than taker/batista, cena/hhh and batista/hhh combined....

hbk vs cena wasn't a bad match but the way it ended ruined EVERYTHING they've been working on.

montana, i have no idea how your brain operates. what do you like about matches? you're taking this idea of you wanting to be a critic way over the top now..

Having watched every Wrestlemania from III on live (ive missed a couple like 17 for whatever reason) I didnt think 24 was the worst but it was far far from the best. They had some awesome matches for sure but the order of the card for some reason felt out of wack to me. Like youd have a really great match then it would turn crap for a while and then back to a really good match. Flair Michaels was obviously great but I dont think that the Taker Edge, or JBL Finlay matches are getting their proper respect. Those 3 along with the MITB (which you cant really go wrong with anyhow) made the card, the rest were meh.

Yawning? Hell people were leaving the arena during the match; everyone knew Triple H would walk away Champion so what’s the point of sticking around?

Other then HBK vs. Flair and maybe (maybe) ‘Taker turning the sweet 16 I don’t see this Wrestlemania standing the test of time. Shawn and Ric had a hell of a match but that alone won’t make this WM stand out like 17 or even 18. It’s sad too because you would want people to remember the night thee single greatest performer in professional wrestling history retired.
