so I need your help.

I've been dating this very nice lady for a couple of weeks now, and I've found myself spending more time at her place than at mine. Her place is nicer than mine anyway. And cleaner.

Never the less.

The issue is of course I am spending more and more time there, but she does not own a PC so in turn has no internet connection. (I practically fell in love when we discussed our mutual dislike for technology.)

So I brought my laptop over yesterday so we could watch some flicks, and at one point I had like 30 minutes where I was by myself (rubbed one out in her sheets tbh :wiggle:) and I tried to get a connection with my laptop to any available wi-fi connections. Now you'd figure that in an apartment building there would be lots of available connections. Incorrect there are two that are not password protected but I only get one bar on the motherfuckers which isn't a huge deal to me if it would actually fucking connect. There's also this one hidden network, badass connection, but I dunno how to connect to a hidden network (wi-fi = over my head for the time being).

Anyway, the point of this is help or you'll probably be seeing a whole hell of a lot less of me.

Wi-Fi Technology = unreliable and unsafe 90% of the times.

Whatever happened to the wired connections man? Complain to the local authorities for setting up more access points and you'll get more than one bar.

I'm not very concerned about the safety tbh. Its just my laptop. As long as my desktop is okay I'm happy.

But yeah, complaining about not enough hotspots isn't going to get anything done. The hotspots here as is are few and far between. Not to mention that the ISPs here are apparently rolling out a new plan to make even more money off the internet by charging you by how much bandwidth you use as opposed to a flat rate.

Weak.

ok, i use the wi fi alot at work.
Let me see here, hmm.. is the access point vertical or horizontal? if its only for horizontal access, then you cant connect to it. coz it will be fixed on the upper or lower flat than the one you are in.

Now, if you want to connect to the badass one. You actually can, you can do something, it might work.
Try to connect on several wi-fi's, the computer will try to find the first available network. Which in that case you will try to connect first to the badass one. After you do so, it will appear as blue icon in your desktop that there is a connection. Go to the network connections and click on repair. It will say that the problem can not be repaired. You just have to change your IP to something else. then connect. then go back to automatic IP search.
This will make you a new IP that will be suitable with the Wi Fi. Connect and hopefully you will either get a better signal or you can access the badass connection ;) i tried it several times. It works sometimes, so try it.
