I enjoyed the MJF face run and never got the criticism of it from some people. I think he’s one of those guys that’s good at both, but he does excel more at being a heel.

I guess but I think it's kinda short sighted of him, Steve Austin didn't wanna be a babyface at first either but eventually sucked it up.

Austin was never a true babyface, though.

Technically, he was.

Technically sure but there were times where he was beating up faces AND heels while in the babyface role. He was more of a tweener if anything else.

Tbh I really enjoyed babyface MJF, the first time I was really hooked in was All Out when Joe pushed him out of the way and he fought back. It felt so genuine and made me really believe he can do both.

He’s a lot better as a heel.

For example when he was putting over Daniel Garcia, it came across as unnatural and forced.

My thinking was that Cole is still not greenlit to return to the ring and they didn't want to wait any longer, so they just pulled the trigger and moved MJF v Ospreay (which this story will at some point involve to by the looks of it) ahead. ...heck, maybe MJF gonna partner up with or join the Callis Family during it.

But yea, my main thought is that they decided now to leave it at that one kick to the balls of Cole for that story and just did what was always gonna be the plan to turn him back heel again.

Other than that though, I don't think that was the last time we'll see babyface MJF. He himself might not be the biggest fan of the idea of being babyface, but I'm sure he's also smart enough to realize that there is indeed money in him as a face. It just has to come down to the story.

I think being a babyface is much interesting than being a heel.

AEW needs top heels as they have a lot of top faces. If the Cole feud is not happening, makes sense to turn MJF heel plus you have a built in reason thanks to what Cole did when he opened up
