Yokozuna, the Rikishi and Samu and Afa and Sika of the Wild Somoans , Kamala, possibly the baddest man in the history of wrestling Haku, Jimmy Snuka and the legendary Kevin Von Erich.

It's nothing new and I have never heard of a single one of those guys getting their feet injured.

Honestly, I would love to see the guy who decides to go up to Haku and tell him he was stupid for wrestling barefoot.

Good point, but those were very different eras, now people keep getting injured all the time and the WWE is very cautious about that. I think, just like Rusev, if he ever get an injury on his feet or ankles, you can bet that they will make him wear those boots.

I think there are much less injuries nowadays than there used to be. I think wrestling is a lot more safe now than it used to be. It's more choreographed than it used to be. And yeah, people got injured a lot back then, you just didn't hear about it as much.

I actually think not wearing boots would be safer. I mean, I have never heard an injury happening by someone getting their foot stepped on. However, plenty of wrestlers do top rope manuevers and a foot can sort of grip better on the turnbuckle if it's bare.

I agree with your first statement, but totally disagree with the second one. When a foot is naked the skin and bones are exposed and can be be cut, bruised or broken way easily. I mean that is just way more dangerous. I have had many injuries myself while skateboarding, I know it has nothing in common with wrestling but still, that's basically putting your body out for an injury.

Yeah, but with that rationale wrestlers should wear helmets and arm protectors because arms and heads get injured much more often than legs and feet. Many wrestlers spend a large majority of the match laying on the mat, so it seems like everything should be protected then.

That's not what I meant... Okay forget the skateboard injuries reference. Just the fact that your feet are open makes it more injury prone and I think that's why most wrestlers have always been wearing the boots.

My comment wasn't about your skateboarding. The helmet and arm protectors was about the fact that boots cover feet and helmets and arm protectors protect arms. It had nothing to do with the fact that skaters wear those. It actually had everything to do with what you said about here about open feet making them more injury prone. If you feel that any part of the body needs protection because it's bare and uncovered, then you can't just stop at feet because plenty of other body parts get injured.

Okay, then were on the same page, I see where this is going "if they should be wearing boots then they should be wearing helmets" and that actually would be a good thing to stop concussions. But we both know that won't happen in wrestling because it would look "silly" just like most skateboarders do not wear them for the same reason. But my point is at least wear the boots to keep your feet safe.

What a dumb question

lol

Why does Rey Mysterio wear a mask? Why did Cody Rhodes put bags on people's heads?

It's a gimmick... lol UFC fighters aren't worried about getting injured barefoot why would you think wrestlers would.

It's toes bud lol... not like breaking your neck. You can argue you have better grip than standard wrestling boots so it's safer that way
