Why does Triple H always try to steal the spotlight from other wrestlers bigger than himself ?

Triple H is a great wrestler but I don't get why he calls himself the greatest when he spent most of his WWE career with other guys. He sucked up to Sean Waltman (X-Pac) Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Shawn Michaels, The New Age Outlaws (Road Dogg and Bad Ass Billy Gunn) Chyna, The McMahon's (Vince, Shane and Stephanie) and Evolution (Batista, Ric Flair and Randy Orton). I don't think he would've became as a great as he is without the association with those other guys he sucked up to for most of his career. Why does he always have to have a manager or be in a group to be considered "The Game" "The Cerebral Assassin" or whatever he calls himself ?

Because he was smart, he made himself over by associating with the right people. Whether it was in storyline or backstage. That's why he is THE GAME.

Dude, you don’t bash the game. It’s like tugging on Superman’s cape or spitting into the wind, you just don’t do it....

Who doesn’t?
I think its about 50/50. HHH is one of the most developed and interesting wrestling characters of all time. I veiw HHH as someone who was never (in kayfabe) able to be successful by himself. Thats why he always has someone with him like DX Evolution and thats why he married the bosses daughter. Some people buy into HHH's delusion of being a King, others see right through it. Thats what makes him a fucking great wresting character.

Triple H has put his fair share of guys over. But he also made then right moves to have himself be put over. He is one of the greatest, if not THE greatest heel of all time. A character who is married to the bosses daughter, so he has the abilities to pull the corporate strings in his favor is one of the realest and best things for a heel

I don't think I would put him in the top list of greatest heels. Some of those old NWA guys had people assault, and stab them or tip the car over. Vince would be above him as well.

People seem to remember the matches Triple H won rather than those he didn't.
It's an interesting dichotomy.

"Back in the day" Hunter was one of my favorite performers...but now...
I don't want to see him wrestle anymore. I'd rather watch the future than
the past.

At least unlike some others he can actually still move around without
it looking cringe worthy.

I do love NXT...but that doesn't get Hunter a free pass from me.

it's odd because once his character is being put out of the equation, he's the most selfless person in any room in Stanford given his booking and how proud he is of his NXT guys and gals, who he repeatedly called "better than he could ever be" but he has a certain vision in his head of what the character "Triple H" should represent and there's little to nothing that's stopping him from realizing that vision because he's the COO lol. Personally I don't have a problem with it, because when it comes down to it, he's put over more guys than any other "old timer".
Recently WWE uploaded a video that included the wrestlers who lost the most matches at Mania and Triple H is by far #1 by losing to people like Batista, Cena, Bryan, Reigns and Rollins who all turned out to be stars later on. Rollins is bit debatable but I'd actually blame that on Trips losing his value due to the fact that he's lost so much at this point that it's not even a difficult task. Same is happening to Cena I feel like. The more you have these guys wrestle and lose, the less special they become
