PWInsider said:
One of the major questions we've been asked in the last several weeks has to do with the disappearance of former WWE World champion Christian.

One of the stories that were making the rounds (incorrectly attributed to PWInsider, according to a few readers) is that WWE pulled Christian from TV as he's expected to appear at the TNA Hall of Fame ceremony next month in Phoenix, Arizona as part of an agreement WWE and TNA made to allow Ric Flair to appear at Wrestlemania earlier this year. However, we are told that isn't why Christian is off the road.

According to numerous sources, Christian actually asked for time off the road as there were no major storylines planned for him and the time off would give him a chance to rest his ankle, which is still giving him some issues after injuring it last year. WWE granted the request.

There is no word when he is slated to return, although at one point he was booked for the Canadian TV loop next Monday and Tuesday.

I've read he's possibly going to be feuding with Cesaro when he returns

A feud with Cesaro would definitely make sense, since he defeated Cesaro a couple weeks back on Smackdown. Him taking time off makes much more sense as well than him being taken off TV because he'll appear at a HOF that maybe 5% of WWE fans no about.

I find it funny that for a PPV that's marketed as all belts on the line they're trying to ignore a guy that has a belt because they agreed to have him on TNA.

lol wow thats right Miz has it. I feel like a complete dumbass now. So it's less important to have him on TV but it is odd that they'd allow him to be off TV for so long he had the injury then they pulled him off shows for not being completely healed bring him back and pull him again. His first year back and he'll have the same amount of matches as HHH.

Since his last two matches with Miz I really didn't notice that he was gone. Just seemed like an injury thing and since it says it's an injury storyline that is pretty much the same thing. Let Christian rest, it looked like he may have returned too early as it was.

Fair enough to give him a rest if he wants it especially when he wasn't being used in anything important. It should help ensure that he will be fit and healthy for the most important time of the year for WWE. I like the sound of a feud with Cesaro when he returns, he will be able to help him a lot and help him become a bigger star.

It makes sense for him to have a rest and really it's doing no harm as he's a guy that will get a great pop whenever he returns. That TNA story could be true, but probably it's most likely bs. Even so the time off he has coincides well with things.

Christian has been in the company for a while and he only got one big push... and it was ruined by randy orton. I think that he should come back to win the royal rumble and challenge dolph ziggler for the whc at WM 29

Really hate when people say this.

1/ Christian only got a sympathy push because WWE felt guilty about Edge having to retire after being booked in all those backbreaking ladder matches. Otherwise Christian would still be on a third tier show jobbing to Zeke Jackson and being known as another Marty Jannetty.

2/ Orton didn't bury him, they had a series of great matches thanks to Randy carrying his ass round for 15 mins a time, and he even dropped the title to him ffs.

Orton "buried" him? Yeah man any time a wrestler loses a title that's a total burial, especially in hotly contested matches.

It was pretty much a burial when you look at how Christian actually won the title from Orton.

1. Orton took the title off Christian in a match on Smackdown five days after he won the title. Chrisitan then lost the rematch on PPV and lost a subsequent title match against Orton.

2. Christian did win the title from Orton but it was because Orton was DQed for a lowblow. Not much of a passing of the torch there. At the next PPV Christian lost the title to Orton clean and then lost another rematch on Smackdown.

Overall that is five matches they had and Christian won only one and that was by DQ. They did have a fantastic series of matches but it isn't like Orton actually did anything to help out Christian, he won 4/5 matches and the other he came out on top anyway because of the way it was booked.

Christian was there mostly to put Orton over on Smackdown. Was it somewhat of a burial sure it was, but the fact that Christian won the title twice was good enough for me. I never thought he would get the opportunity and they actually let him in the main event scene for a few months. Thank you creative for letting that happen.

I will say one thing harsh though since Cork is on his usual rampage of idiotic comments. Orton carried Christian, please give me break. Watch that Summerslam match and you tell me who was doing most of the work.

Like I said it was great to watch and like you I never thought that Christian would win the big one once let alone twice. I just don't think that Orton did Christian any favours, Orton came out of that feud looking awesome and Christian dropped back down a level again. I want to say again their matches were fantastic and it was due to both of the guys involved rather than one carrying the other.

Its just a common theme these days with heels. They are booked pretty poorly while faces are booked way too strongly. I'm still shocked Orton put Kane over clean, that really caught me off guard.
