Benoit won the US title on the August 9th 1999 Nitro from David Flair. He lost the title to Sid Vicious on September 12th 1999 at Fall Brawl. He won his 2nd title from Scott Hall who forfeited the belt due to injury on December 19th 1999 at Starrcade he defended the title that night vs Jeff Jarrett in a Ladder Match. He lost the title to Jeff Jarrett the next night on Nitro in a Ladder Match. He won his 3rd US title on August 21st 2005 from Orlando Jordan at Summerslam. He lost the title to Booker T on the October 21st 2005 Smackdown. He won his 4th title from Booker T on February 19th 2006 at No Way Out. He lost the title to JBL on April 2nd 2006 at WrestleMania 22. He won his fifth US title from Mr. Kennedy on the October 13th 2006 Smackdown. He lost the title to MVP in a 2/3 Falls Match on May 20th 2007 at Judgment Day.

MVP was incredibly talented and underrated. He did pretty good as a champion but he just didn't have what it takes to topple the Rabid Wolverine. Benoit was just oozing with talent.
