This has nothing to do with there in ring work. This only pertains to there worl on the mic. So who is better, "The Awesome One" or the "Straight Edge Savior?"

Even though I am a huge fan of the Miz, I have to go with CM Punk. Mainly because Punk has had more experience and Miz is still a little green. Miz tends to slurr over his words sometime and mess up. You hardly ever hear Punk do that. It is only Miz's first reign though and I think he will do better on the mic than Punk during his first reign. It wasn't until Punk's second reign when he got more exposure on the microphone and showed everyone what he could do. Of course it was mainly because of his heel turn. So my answer is CM Punk but if Miz keeps working his ass off like he is that one day he might be better than Punk.

Punk gets my vote, hands down. Disturbed mentioned it, but Punk has much more experience, both as a face and a heel. Punk knows how to get real heat from the fans as a heel, attacking the audience while still retaining a degree of class. Yes, sometimes he comes off as a bit preachy, but that's where the heat comes from. Miz, in my opinion, just comes off as a loudmouth douchebag. That, however, is the character he plays and while I can't stand the S.O.B., he plays it well.

Punk just seems so much more comfortable in his role than Miz does in his.

Punk, hands down. He had me at "invisible microphone." Though, I can't wait for the Miz dickriding to begin....

I'm going to have to go with CM Punk on this one. Absolutely love them both, though Punk gets the slight edge. Miz without a doubt has Punk beat on intensity and charisma however Punk seems to deliver a concise point a little better than Miz does. To be fair though Punk has been at it a lot longer than Miz and with some more time to develop he'll definitely be just as good if not better.
Hardly anything beats Punks mid Royal Rumble promos and all the work he did with the SES... some of the best mic work of this decade.

I am also going to go with Punk here. The Miz is great, dont get me wrong, some of his promos are great, the intensity and emotion he displays on the microphone is phenomenal. But Punk is more subtle with his delivery and I feel gets his point across faster/better than the Miz.

The Miz has been cutting some great promos, but Punk has cut some epic promos in his short time as a heel, his Royal Rumble promo, the promo on Jeff Hardy after he was fired and some of the SES stuff, just incredible.

I would also vote Punk. Miz is great no doubt, but I think sometimes his promos are lacking a little bit of "material" (idk how to describe it well). I was expecting a knockout promo this past Monday, his first since winning the heavyweight title, but it seemed lacking for some reason.

Punk's exchanges with Big Show back in the summer were just incredible.

"I wanna see a 450 splash. In your case 450 pounds of fat splashing off the ladder through the center of the ring!"

lololol

Miz is alright promo-wise, he's definitely still growing very well... one thing that gives him a nod is he seems to study the industry very well.

Punk is incredible both ways, though I prefer this tweener-role he's playing right now on commentary on Raw... I like this more than his heel or face shit... definitely has me cracking up recently. "So Cole, if you were offered a Heavyweight Championship match, you wouldn't take it?" "Of course I would, I'm not stup.." "But you never will, so shutup!"

Epic shit. Punk > Miz, but Miz is well on his way to greatness on the stick.

There's no question it's Punk. If you really need any proof, just watch him in ROH. Wow, did he know how to get to the crowd. Not saying Miz isn't good on the mic, but he's not on Punk's level. Punk knows how to play the heel and the face, but is just tailor made to be a heel. Miz has a long way to go, but he's getting there. When I look at both doing mic work, Punk comes off more natural while Miz comes off as he just rehearsed 15 minutes before he stepped through the curtain.
