Yes, that's what the point of the match was. He passed the torch to Warrior, who consequently dropped the torch because Warrior sucked ass.
Hellwig is a fucking ass sucker of a person. Ultimate Warrior was badass.

Either way he sucks ass. He was dangerous as fuck in the ring, and had to be led through even basic matches like a small child.

Kind of like Ryback.

not every wrestler is Jericho or Owen. I ain't mad that he wasn't a very good wrestler, he was entertaining to me.

He was entertaining to me when I was 6, but I know now that he was the absolute shits. My favorite Ultimate Warrior story is the one where Andre knocked him out cold in the ring for being a fuckhead.

Yeah I've seen that one. Warrior was probably gassed by the end.

That's cool, I know a lot of people can overlook his vast shortcomings. I was able to as a child, now to me he's just a talentless asshole in clown make-up.

I gotta hand it to him, he was just like Hogan, he knew what the crowds want, he had abilities to "feel" them, and he was giving it to them. I'm sure if he had went to Japan, for example, he'd be able to work a more physical and mat based style (although nothing complex), like Hogan was working over there. You know why was Hogan doing it? Because he knew what the Japs love, and he was giving it to them. I'm also pretty sure that if Hogan had wrestled for ECW, he'd fucking made the fans love him within a month. Sure, they'd booo the hell out of him, but he'd have won them over, because he was/is the master of customization. Warrior was the same breed.

Ehhh I think you give Warrior a fuckton more credit than he ever deserves. He had a very one dimensional connection with the crowd. He knew how to get them ramped up to a point. His entrance elicited huge responses, and his running the ropes 1,000 times shit elicited a huge response. That's the extent of his connection with the crowd. He has no idea how to tell a story in the ring or on the microphone the way that Hogan could. Warrior can't cut a decent promo to save his life. I love making fun of his shit and doing Warrior impersonations as much as the next fan, but doesn't make him talented.

To answer this thread, the entire notion of Hogan "elevating" anyone is ridiculous. Hogan held that spot, because he was fucking Hulk Hogan and he built that city on rock and roll. No one could touch him. WrestleMania was built on Hulk. I love Shawn and Bret's run in the main event after Hulk left, but none of the Kliq drew houses like Hulk did. Why would they force Hulk to play second fiddle to anyone else, and who would this amazing elevated talent be? The Ultimate Warrior was the only option, and that was the drizzly shits after he won the straps. It's the same thing with WCW. Hulk knew damn well he was the reason that WCW ceased being a backwater Southern shithole, and became a contender for #1 promotion on the planet.

The reasons WCW went down the tubes are vast, and very few of them have anything to do with Hogan's iron fist on the main event.
