I'm not surprised about this. As far as WWE is concerned they're the only wrestling company in the world. Besides, WWE.com is run by Michael "modified (insert move here)" Cole. I doubt he's going to recognize any japanese wrestler.

If I were WWE, I would have acknowledged them. They could said something like.. . Yuji Nagata is a legend in japanese wrestling, but at the end of the day he's still a WWE fan.

One last thing. Nagata was the man that faced TNA's Kurt Angle not long ago. Maybe they didn't want to mention them due to the NJPW-TNA relationship.

^^^ Yeah that was what I was thinking to. Nagata would be most recognized by Americans as the dude who wrestled Angle on global impact, and maybe that was why they didn't want to bring him up.

Well most WWE fans don't pay attention to Japanese wrestling, some might watch but they don't know they're names at the top of their heads.
