Pro Wrestling > MMA.
I hate MMA. They say MMA takes more skill, yet how does that ring true when you compare a signature UFC move such as a simple arm-bar, to a wrestling submission such as the Figure 4 or Sharpshooter? There is no comparison. Yes, an arm bar hurts. But in pro wrestling, an arm-bar is considered a pretty weak submission. Doesn't that make wrestling superior? To me it does.
And as was previously mentioned, if MMA was so "real", it wouldn't take place in a ring with referees and mouth gaurds. It's an established event, therefore there is politics involved backstage like with any sport. Fact is, since it's not pre-determined, you never know what's going to happen. They can hype MMA fights full-tilt, but there is no scripting and the fighters may not have any chemistry in the ring. It could end up being the shortest or most boring fight ever. At least with wrestling, it's scripted and focused towards entertainment, so you know you're getting your moneys worth.
Are MMA fighters tougher than wrestlers? Absolutely not. Anybody who says a UFC fighter can "fuck up" a wrestler, is dead wrong. People under estimate wrestlers because the punches are fake. Punches, kicks and chair shots are about the only thing thats fake. Think about it, when you recieve a clothesline, they might not even connect, however one things for sure: You have to sell the move, therefore you fall straight back on your back, causing your head to bounce off the mat. Think that doesn't hurt? Actually, it probably hurts a heck of a lot more than the actual clothesline would. Suplexes also take their toll on the back and neck. Over a long period of time, this will really cause neck problems. So yes, these moves are fake, but people don't realize in order to SELL these moves, you're going to take a bump. It's a double standard. You're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't.
