I do think Punk will become a face by the end of the year. He's too loved by the fans it seems (the crowd seemed even 50/50 during Punk/Rock) not to.

I agree that he's probably going to turn face at some point soon. I still don't have enough grasp on the WWE to really predict the future of his career but IMO a face(ish) underdog angle with Punk would be pretty nice.

Would blow my mind if Cena had a heel turn to match it. Cena would just rub in Punk's face how big and strong he (thinks he) is and how he's the face of the company and how Punk wouldn't even come close to him because he looks like/is a loser. Lmfao, it's probably too complex for most of IWC since they would be so confused on who to cheer for. This is probably just me and my rambling and my noobness.

Hopefully he retires, opens a straight edge gym and never comes back just so his super marks like Crayo and Gohan could never see him again.

But yeah, I still believe it'll be Rock/Cena/Punk 3 Way for the title at WM.

He ain't going back to midcard for sure, IMO.

But where does that leave his alliance with The Shield and Paul Heyman?

The alliance stays, but Shield just gets another match, probably three on one handicap with Ryback.

I think when Heyman told Brad Maddox about hiring The Shield to do a job, he said "we", which would imply Punk was involved. I do think Punk will become a face by the end of the year. He's too loved by the fans it seems (the crowd seemed even 50/50 during Punk/Rock) not to.

I could see Punk being legitimately mad about Heyman hiring The Shield behind his back but then again, considering Punk would have lost the belt three times in a row to Ryback if not for either Maddox or Shield, it would actually turn out to be smart on Heyman's part.

Ah, damn. Thanks for the info though.

I've not read much in the forums just yet, so I'm not sure if this has been brought up, but I do feel CM Punk was never involved with Maddox or The Shield, I believe Paul Heyman paid them off due to the fact he didn't believe Punk will make it this far on his own.

"The We Part" from Heyman might be manipulation on his part to have Maddox and the Shield think Punk is on it and agreed for their support in his match ups.

When Vince exposed the video footage of Paul, Shield and Maddox, Punk was escorted out. This can work on both counts, either Punk was escorted out so Brock can make his reappearance and/or Punk finds out Heyman has been paying them off to help with his victories. I think CM Punk might show face at some point in time and take on Brock since Heyman will side with Brock as he's still more Dominant than Punk would of been.

What do you guys think?

I would personally prefer Punk being a hybrid of both, Heel/Face so he has every reason to fight Rock, Cena & Brock

I'll bet you all of my gold dabloons that Punk has an extended stay in the mid card scene at least once before the end of 2014

I wouldn't be so sure. He strikes me as a "good hand" similar to Jericho, who might float back and forth between main event and upper-mid card but maybe never being a long term main eventer. I know Punk has the long title reign (although it didn't feel that long because of being booked as a mid carder the first half of his reign) but Jericho was also the first ever Undisputed Champion. JBL also had a long reign with the belt but never won it again and floated back and forth between main event and undercard feuds before he got beat by Mysterio in less than a minute and retired.
