When did you find out...

With the Christmas around the corner, I was wondering when everyone here discovered that Santa Claus was a lie.

When I was in middle school kids were talking about how they found all the presents they were getting already.

I don't know if I really believe in lying to kids like that, but it's hard not to when every other kid in the world is getting excited over Santa.

So, how and when did you find out?

I always knew Santa Claus was not real, I even asked my mom when I was 6 or 7 and she told me he was not real.

I never believed. At first I was too young to even hear the stories, then when I got to the proper age to, my parents just told me straight it was horseshit.

I was 10, and heard Mum and Dad talking about the PlayStation that they'd got me.

To the lying to kids point, it's not really lying, it's just a fabricated story like the Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy etc to give them some figurehead for the holidays.
