What's your opinion on the film 'American Gangster'?

American Gangster was pretty good. Don't know that I would call it 'great' and as I recall, it had a lot of characters (mainly in Frank's family) that were hard to keep track of as far as keeping up with the names of and whatnot, but it was enjoyable enough to watch at least once. Not the kind of film I'd revisit over and over again, though. And I watched it with no hype. I always go into films (or TV shows) with the hype falling on deaf ears with me unless it's an anticipated sequel to something or a new season of a TV show (i.e the final eight episodes of Breaking Bad this summer) and I just can't help but have my own expectations for it.

Denzel Washington's best work for me is easily Training Day.
