Can you imagine Roman missing mania because of steroid allegations and a court case..... lol. Knowing WWE he would return right after and take on the raw roster in a 25 to 1 handicap match, including Brock, and win the universal title.

No...I didn't forget...and he failed a drug test in the UFC...not in the WWE...
so you could technically say he never broke any rules in the WWE.

Tbf I don't think they test part timers... that or they done the same as the ufc. They let it slide because he's a big draw

If my memory serves me correctly...he was found in possession
of some suspect "pills" which turned out to be vitamins.

But don't quote on me that...

Well...it was for 30 days...and he had to drop the World title
at MitB to Rollins before his suspension started and then when
he returned he was "demoted" to a mid-card feud with Rusev...
which he eventually won...but I'll go out on a limb and say if
not for his wellness policy violation...I have a feeling the Plank
of Wood would never have dropped the World title to begin with.

In fact...the Universal title would have ended up on SmackDown...
and it would have been blue instead red.

Does anyone here have access to an alternate time line to check that?

I feel like Roman could kill a family member and wwe (mcmahon) would cover it up.

It does "feel" that way doesn't it...like the company truly believe
he's the only one who matters...the poor, misguided fools.
