Ok in the past half year we have seen lots of raw wwe title changes and lots of changing hands of the title from CM Punk to Chris Jericho to Batista to Chris Jericho.

Personally there was no point in my mind to have Chris as the champ sure it will probably be his last run as the champ but why? for a short few weeks from Unforgiven to the raw after Cyber Sunday what was the point in that? I mean the only thing in my mind it did was set up a ladder match for No Mercy.

Then when it was over Batista was the new champ with no build up at all but as usual a "I want a rematch" clause in effect and he wins it, but now on Raw he loses it after being an 8 day Champion sure we will probably see him whine and complain and go on a rampage and get another shot and get it back but what was the point in all of that? Did it really do anything for Chris or Batista.

Unless they want Cena walking in as the champion at Wrestlemania to vs Batista and Cena wins the title at SS, which adds to my point whats the point in all of these random changes I am serious if I miss one episode of raw I won't even know who the champions are anymore.

Thoughts?

The World Title itself has been thrown around for a long time, more so than the WWE Title. Leads me to suspect because of its similiar design to a certain Big Gold Belt from WCW, Vinnie Mac doesn't think it's as significant. :nonono:

Being serious, I have no idea why its thrown around like a ragdoll. We've had 7 World reigns by five different guys this year; 2 Edge, 2 Jericho, 1 Punk, 1 Taker, and 1 Big Dave. Too many, while the WWE title has only switched hands once, from Orton to Triple H.

ho cares? People complain when someone has a title too long, and want quick changes, thenw hen they get quick changes, they bitch again.
Who cares? Did you see it coming? No. Did I? No.
It's just to reate some excitement.

Fans have a very short attention span these days. Remember when Cena was champion? After about 6 months everyone began to turn on him.

I hate reigns that only go for 2-3 months, but there's nothing we can do to stop them. And they'll probably become more frequent until Cena gets the belt.

The point(s):

*Entertain the goldfish-element of the fanbase.
*Counterbalance the long reign of HHH (See above).
*Somewhat elevate CM Punk.

Drawing power aside, IMO Jericho was great as champ - A real triumph. It shocked the hell out of me that Batista has dropped the title so quickly and now I hope that they let him run with it a bit longer before putting it on one of the 'marquee' guys for Mania.

As for Batista's short-ass reign, I can only assume that that is a sign that Cena will be getting the title pre-Mania and that they were somewhat appeasing 'Big Dave' because they knew he wouldn't get a sniff for a while.

I don't get it either.

I guess they really wanted to establish Jericho as a credible champ by beating a top notch entertainer for the belt. Much like they did when they awarded the belt to Orton last year, had HHH beat him for it, then had HHH drop it to Orton later that night.

Or, plans changed and they wanted Cena to beat Jericho for the belt now, rather than Batista.

I guess we will have to wait and see if there was any logic behind it at all.

I actually see Y2J retaining and entering Armageddon as champion, then dropping the belt to John Cena in the expected Triple Threat match: Cena vs Y2J vs Batista.

I see this title changing with Batista and Y2J as a way to add heat to the Batista vs Cena feud. Probably Batista will aks for his rematch for SS, and he gets turned down because it is Cena the one getting the title match

Agreed, I think Jericho and Cena will enter a program that will ultimately have Cena coming out with the belt (Armageddon or Royal Rumble?) setting up a Cena/Batista match at Wrestlemania.

I said it in another thread, but I will mention something like it again. I think that they WWE had two things in their minds.

1- They wanted to save Cena vs Batista for WM.
2- They wanted that match to be a Face vs Heel instead of Face vs Face match. I think there will be a huge twist in Batista's personna and he will snap to become again a heel monster (which is the DAMN time to turn him heel) >_>

Now, Jericho played a good role as the heel for 3 months and they wanted to make Cena come back strong and take the belt from an established heel like Jericho.

Remember Edge/Cena feud and matches? they were good but I think they took it far than it should be. So im hoping that they wont make us get bored from this new feud here.

I think WWE goes through stretches where they throw the title around, and then keep it on one guy for a while. They're in the "throw the title around" phase right now which is why we've seen so many title changes. I think Jericho winning back the belt is only a set up for Super Cena to take it when he comes back

Cena will probably win at SS I'm guessing. A heel Batista would be awesome, must be said. A nasty monster persona would freshen up what has become a pretty stale character imo

Batista just gave up the title because WWE didn't want Batista and Cena fighting each other until Mania. It makes more sense for Cena to build steam for his comeback and they didn't want him getting a win anywhere near Batista to anticipate Mania.

It's strictly for the Batista/Cena bout at Mania, it has little to do with Jericho. Tista was the same one complaining how he doesn't get the title and blah blah so they gave it to him, just so they can take it away two weeks later on RAW. It's to make Batista happy, still have Jericho has a transitional champion and to add gas to the Batista/Cena feud.
