What was the deal in 2007, 2008, and 2009 with any wrestler could show up on any show???

Before I was on any Forums I noticed that in 2007, 2008, and 2009 the WWE would have Wrestlers to show up on any show they wanted to at anytime....

There were superstars who went from RAW to Smackdown and Vice Versa.

Also ECW had that situation as well having RAW & Smackdown Superstars Challenge for the ECW Title.

There would be matches that featured...

Edge from Smackdown and Cena from RAW

Or

Big Show from ECW vs Undertaker from Smackdown.

And so many other matches, why was that happening?

December to Dismember is to blame. ECW on Syfy was supposed to be the third brand. But that pay per view was awful coupled with the fact that it was nothing like the original ECW. Was doomed to fail. So WWE decided to share the rosters on all three brands. At least that's what I would think as I stopped caring for a bit around 2006 and Taker and Shawn brought me back at WrestleMania 25

I wouldn't blame it entirely on that because their was a Smackdown PPV called Great American Bash before December To dismember that had Undertaker vs Big Show from ECW in a Punjabi Prison match.

Taker was supposed to face Great Khali in the Punjabi Prison but that never happened

Oh yeah I forgot about that lol, I heard Khali wasn't ready for that match. Khali however was ready to fight Big Show in a locker room in Puerto Rico
