A part of it is that the dude is naturally athletic methinks. He's Samoan and they in general are surprisingly agile despite being big blokes, just look at Umaga, Yokozuna and the Rock as prime examples. Despite being big guys they can move, and Reigns is the same.

Yeah but that doesn't really make him different from the other guys. People are literally calling for him to get a mega push and that he's the star of The Shield. Not just because it's obvious he'll be the star due to his look & stuff, but because of other reasons. I'm asking what makes him different talent wise than the guys the IWC despises? So far, I don't see anything. Sure he has the look and presence, but is that it? Is it just me that would prefer to see Ambrose & Rollins get the majority of segment time and push due to their entertainment value? Reigns looks cool and has a sick ass finisher, but other than that, he's going to bore the lot of you once he gets over exposed. You could say any superstar would, and you'd be right, but I don't see how Reigns is different to the same stars you hate.

That whole thing is so very true. Oddly enough, think a lot of people are being worked by this. Reigns is getting featured heavily now and has surprisingly fit in with the "guys we know are great" in Rollins and Ambrose, and after soooooo many great Shield matches they're getting excited about the member of the trio that's about to get the rocketship and 100% on board with this Roman Reigns push. Thing is, do we really know that much? In the ring he has a nice spear and powerbomb but we don't know how he handles 1-on-1 matches. He can say one sentence before yelling "Believe in the Shield" well. He has that "It factor" and the look, but that only gets you so far today as you said. Sorry for the weak answer, just haven't seen enough from the guy to pass judgment.

There's really no reason not to try to push the guy and see what you have in him, but passing over Ambrose or Rollins for him is stupid. If Reigns is as good as advertised, there's no reason all three of these guys can't be the young building blocks of the future along with the Langston/Wyatt/Rhodes/Zayn and maybe Neville crowd.

Meh. Reigns is currently marketed that way. He is suposta get attention. He is Vince's next big project. Mark my words... He will flop, and he will flop hard. 4/10 in my book. I like Rollins. Rollins > Reigns

Exactly. There's so much hype around Reigns, especially on here, but I just don't get it apart from the look. Since when does the IWC mark over a good look anyway? We know so little about him and I see people saying they'd prefer to see him pushed over Ambrose & Rollins which just baffles me. The dude has a sick ass spear and his part in The Shield has been equally important as Ambrose & Rollins, which in itself is impressive, but on his own what are we left with? We're left with a dude who, let's face it, is a weak ass mic worker. We're left with a dude who is probably not that great in the ring yet (I know he started off green). We're meant to be excited for a good look when he gets the inevitable rocket up his ass?

I honestly think it's a case of being excited over his look, his potential, and then the hipsters actually changing people's opinions. Marking for Ambrose/Rollins was the thing to do when Shield made their debut, but slowly the hipsters moved onto Reigns out of no where, and it's kinda got him a ton of online momentum. That's my little thesis on it all anyway. Personally, I'm a Reigns fan, but I'm not even as close to being excited for his push than I am for Ambrose's singles run just because of the potential feuds and moments we can have. What is there really to look forward to with Reigns? Genuine question; not rhetorical.

He won't flop. With Roman it's less about actual ability and more being a star, it's the aura. Batista didn't fit from a talent stand point but the guy still became a stud. Plus he has the heritage. You've got to see this less of a smark and more from the WWE's perspective, he's like Ryback but with the ability to not have a stinker of a match as he's shown in FCW.
