Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels in 2008, perhaps. It began shortly before they went PG but continued well afterwards as well. John Cena and CM Punk could very well end up on the list as well, depending on how their rivalry continues in the future. The Rock and John Cena will obviously end up on the list because of how big the first match (and no doubt the second as well) was. It was a legitimate dream match at least four years before it happened.

Streak opponents get decent build ups. Shawn Michael's build up was pretty good and same goes for Triple H's second one.

Forgot to mention HBK/Jericho

If it's feuds then Punk vs Cena shouldn't be considered yet IMO, they've barely feuded (MITB was Punk vs the company if anything with Cena as the 3rd wheel if you will), great matches but it isn't a great feud yet. I suppose Orton vs Cena will be considered even though it was horribly stale at one point IMO, also even though the match blew chunks at WM Orton vs HHH.

I'm in the minority here, but I personally have considered the PG era to have ended years ago. I understand that it's still PG and all, but WWE's been PG before and we don't call that era the PG era as well. That's because era's aren't defined simply by their television ratings but rather by the content the show actually produces. WWE in 2013 is a far different product from WWE of say 2009, or pretty much any year post-ratings change and pre-Punk's shoot. At least that's how it is for me, your mileage may vary.

That out of the way, I agree with most of what has been said thus far. I don't really have much else to add but I will say that Shawn/Jericho's feud was incredible and their ladder match at No Mercy is my favorite ladder match of all-time.

Cena and Orton was interesting for me and I agree with the comment about most of the streak fights with undertaker been pretty good.

Can't really say how many feuds were AE quality, but I'm thinking of the best feuds from each year, as time went on. Hopefully you get some ideas from this:

2009 I was a huge Hardy mark, but Matt Hardy vs Jeff Hardy was well booked and a really entertaining feud, so much more that I was legit pissed that Matt was drafted to SD. Obviously Punk and Hardy topped that, that feud was phenomenal. Cena and Orton had a great feud even though it went way too freaking long and devalued the phrase "10 time world champion" all to hell, HHH and the McMahons had an amazing feud with Orton even though they phoned in the match, the feud between Rey Mysterio and Chris Jericho produced countless great matches, Taker and Michaels, Michaels and JBL, Kofi and Orton if you forget about the ending, really enjoyed that one. Maybe Batista and Mysterio?

2010: Looking back at what happened, I forgot just how bad 2010 was. It's probably just revisionist history since the Nexus was cool at the time, but now looking back on it as a vehicle to get Cena over and nobody else it's pathetically lame. Anyway, Batista and Cena because Heel Batista was awesome, Rey and Punk got redundant and went on too long but for what it was it was cool, the Vince and Bret thing got positive reviews I suppose, Daniel Bryan and Miz was cool for a mid-card feud, the whole Kane thing really comes down to personal opinion... Honestly can't think of anything else from this year, lol fuck the Straight Edge Society.

2011: Cody Rhodes and Rey Mysterio was incredible stuff, god I miss a relevant Cody. I actually liked the Miz's title reign but his feud with Cena can't be listed since Rock got in the way, say what you want about Big Show and Mark Henry but it was an entertaining, if not the best booked, feud. It was fun to see Orton humbled in feuds with Rhodes and Barrett... I remember enjoying 2011 quite a bit, but looking back on it it had the three worst feuds I've ever seen (Cole and Lawler was intolerable, Orton RKO'ing Christian every week and pissing everybody off, and WWE getting lightning in a bottle with the CM Punk vs WWE storyline and botching it to an almost unbelievable extent).

2012: Punk and Jericho felt heated and personal, that was good stuff... and... umm...
