lol, jesus. I could not disagree with the first two reasons any more than I do. Legit threat to the streak? jesus lol

As in kayfabe. During the match, there were times I thought Punk could win.

You didn't think heel Punk and Heyman mocking Paul Bearer and Taker was good build?

That was a really good match, but it may not have been a top-3 Punk match last year lol. Then again it's all in perspective, as stand alone matches the ones with Jericho and Cena were better imo but they didn't have much build so you can argue otherwise. But better than the Lesnar match?

Yeah, I'm not judging it just as the single match. Didn't get into Brock/Punk at all.

No, I thought it was really cheap and lame build. The easiest way out WWE could have taken, and it didn't entertain me at all.

Lesnar/Punk was 10 X the match and feud compared to this shitfest.

A lot of people did. I could barely make it through the match I was getting bored.
Surprisingly, even the most die-hard of Punk marks wouldn't regard that as MOTY. MOTN maybe, but MOTY? Hell no. It weighed up poor to what I expected it to be but the match stipulation didn't help. It needed to be far more brutal than it was and the story was almost non-existent. For such a viscous and dark build -- Punk mocking Bearer -- it needed so much more.

Brock and Taker. Currently the match I'm looking forward to the most MATCH wise, not result.

Awesome build, legit threat to the streak, some great spots, brilliant storytelling with the use of the urn, good chemistry, Wrestlemania stage, etc... Not exactly a controversial opinion.
Build was good yes. There was no threat. I didn't see many great spots, 1 or 2, 3 maybe. Storytelling was good not brilliant. Wrestlemania stage makes it MOTY?

I could list a bunch of better matches off the top of my head.

Look what the build would have been if that never would have happened: "Okay it's March so Taker's here and-a Punk won this Fatal 4 way so lets gooooooooo!"

Compared to that the whole thing with Paul Bearer was Austin/McMahon level. Then again, Taker at WM doesn't need build because the outcome is never in doubt anyway so anything they do to prove otherwise is just a waste of time

I feel like this should be in the "Unpopular Opinions" thread, but, hell, I'll say it:

I think the MOTN will end up being the triple-threat for the title. Orton and Bryan know how to work and know how to work together. The same could be said of Orton and Hunter (although I seriously doubt that Hunter is the guy in the match). And, if it becomes a fatal four-way, that's three solid workers with good chemistry out of the four (I don't think that'll happen, but I'm not going to argue that point). Whatever way it works out, though, Batista can come in, hit a big power spot, take a move that gets him knocked out of the ring, then he gets to lay around outside until it's time for him to come back in and do it all again.

These things combined with the fact that the Champion at the end of the night will either be the super-over babyface (Bryan), the last guy anyone would expect (Orton), the growing-into-being-the-most-hated-guy-in-the-company (Batista), or the evil maniac boss (HHH), as well as the fact that we'll no doubt have some key idea about the big title feud of the summer (Bryan vs. ???, I'd guess) will push it over the top considering all the factors.

I'd say the Triple H/Bryan match, but it's pretty much a lock in that Bryan will win so that takes away from it. I guess in wrestling terms I'm looking forward to The Shield/NAO & Kane match the most, but when it comes to storytelling then I'd go with the Cena/Wyatt match.

The whole Daniel Bryan double main event has the most emotion and storytelling behind it, but John Cena vs Bray Wyatt holds the most intrigue for me personally because I can genuinely see it going either way. I can see Wyatt picking up a clean victory over Cena, but I can also see Wyatt needing interference to win or Cena picking up a victory over Bray after a hard fought match. I'm really pulling for a Wyatt victory here though, preferably a clean one, but with Rowan and Harper not booked to wrestle in any other matches on the card, you have to know their role is gonna be getting physically involved in the match somehow (or maybe any physicality between them and Cena will happen after the match is over.)

Way too many of the matches seem as if they're going to have interference (Wyatts with Cena vs Bray, Heyman with Lesnar vs Taker, someone from the Authority in HHH vs Bryan or the triple threat). It really nullifies me choosing anything as MOTN. There's a point in time where interference is good (WM 17 with Mcmahon and Austin), but with that many possibilities presented, it feels completely unnecessary and it takes away from the quality of the matches. So ultimately I think there won't really be an ultimate standout.

Believe it or not, match quality isn't ultimately the most essential thing I look for in a match, although it plays the biggest part in ending an angle (take Goldberg/Lesnar for an example). I'm a fan of seeing how the match responds to the build-up and what it sets up for, and currently Daniel Bryan and HHH have the best program going. Although it's tricky considering that Bryan might work two matches, I think that granted if Daniel Bryan prospers at the end of the night and of course granted him and HHH has a decent match, I think that the Bryan/HHH match will become the match people are going to talk about. The title match for me is more so about the moment if it's done right; that being Bryan winning the championship. Again, I think the Bryan/HHH bout will become the match of the night due to the build-up, excitement and hopefully the ring action too. HHH has proven himself as a great worker throughout the years, but it's been a while since he has put on a clinic in my eyes. That being at WM28 vs. Undertaker.

Hopefully it's not going to be a match Bryan's gonna carry and hopefully it can live up to the long build-up. Basically, I think they'll go batshit ham on each other and put on a clinic, and sort of half-ass the championship match and make it all about the achievement.

I don't think Bryan's gonna carry the match at all. HHH can definitely still work a 2-sided match, and IMO, he's a lot more ripped than he has been in the past 3 years. I mean......
