What is so bad about Orton's face Gimmick

The IWC constantly shits on Orton's current face gimmick from the last year and a half. I really would like to know what is so bad. People claim he is boring and what-not but the guy is more over as a face than he ever was as a heel. How is he boring if he doesn't even have to talk, but every fan in the arena is up to their feet when they hear his entrance music? Orton doesn't pick up a microphone much at all as a face but it doesn't matter because he is over enough. Besides that, his matches aren't bad at all. Sure, he may not put as many guys over as others but he has some damn good matches in my opinion. Look at his matches with Taker, the I Quit with Cena, his matches with Christian, just to name a few. So what is it, what's so bad about Orton's current persona?

I don't like it cause he isn't doing anything anymore with the whole viper thing. It's not even about him being face as I was loving it when he first started as a face and the Orton/Punk feud he came off really good and bad ass. He just isn't keeping himself interesting from a character standpoint when he showed he could. Don't think no one is really complaining about his in ring stuff I think that has been at its prime in 2011 and based on in ring performances he is a shoe in for superstar of the year.

Orton doesn't have a character. He's just some guy.

His face character is barely different than his heel the only difference are his opponents.

I find him so bland as a face. He was great as a heel with the Legend Killer gimmick but now he doesn't even have a clearly defined gimmick, he is simply a face. He is also very monotone on the mic and that doesn't work well at all for a face. His wrestling style is also better suited to a heel because he has quite a few rest holds and as a heel he can play that up more. Overall he is a much better heel.

I don't mind Orton, probably since I've gradually become used to the Viper gimmick. He's fine on the mic and he's really picked up his work rate over the past couple of years.

That said, his character is just bland.

Randy Porno is so boring. Whatever its in the ring or on the mic. Like it or not, he is more overrated than Cena.

Randy has nothing to do in ring. His openents always work the match, and then they just serve themselfs to Orton like Christian did in their Steel Cage match.

Scott is being very harsh he is better than that! I am much in agreement with Troy, his best years was as the legend Killer and he just looks more natural as a heel. Really he bombed when they turned him in 2004 and so far the same is happening now. Yes he normally gets a good pop when he comes to the ring, but he was getting that anyway before his face turn, more telling is the ratings have been getting worse on Smackdown ever since his current run on top there started, you can't put all that down to him, but he has to be a factor.

His interviews are a problem, they are terrible, but a greater problem for me are his movements in the ring and the repepetive routine. In his early years he was actually pretty quick and angile in the ring and seem to have a greater range, but know like someone said he is just to robortic and slow, relaying on the same old patten of moves. He is not a bad worker, but he is stuck in a rut.

Like it was with Cena, I think it's just cool for people to hate on Orton.

I understand that people find his promos monotonous which they very well may be, but funnily enough it works with his current gimmick and him being this icy cold viper. He doesn't need to be all happy go lucky with stupid, cheesy material like Cena for example.

His in ring mannerisms are spot on and his apparent repetetive routine is no different to anybody else so that's a non factor for me. I'd go as far as to say that his standard patten of moves are impressive looking despite how simple they are, such as the hanging DDT, the two neckbreakers etc.

With all that being said, he's easily my superstar of the year when the Slammy's come around. Nobody else comes close to him for me.

I don't get the hate for his in ring stuff. Guy has been as good as ever in the ring this year. I don't mind the montone stuff in his promo keep that just express the character in it is all I ask. Like I said he had it down in the feud with Punk not saying a whole lot but when he said something it came off as cold rather than now when he sounds like lets just get this over with. Don't have him try and save any faces unless it benefits him don't have him get along with any faces just make him more anti face cause you don't have to cheese him up to get him more over. Already knew he was gonna lose his cool factor with the adult fans in the crowd when Punk turned because now he is the main one who has it now but he still needs to try and stick with it cause while he is really over of course I'm not gonna be surprised if he starts getting the Cena treatment with the fans at this rate.

I don't think Orton is terrible in the ring, it is just when you compare him now to how good he was in 04-07 he has dropped a long way. It is true than the feud with Christian was maybe the wrestling feud of this year, but outside of that he has not done enough to be called the wrestler of the year. And yes his interviews are boring!

His match with Kane earlier this year was probably one of Kane's best matches he has had in a really long time. His latest match with Cody was good, his match with Punk at mania was one of the best matches at mania just to name a few off top that I think have been good or better this year besides his stuff with Christian.

It was alright until he started the Super Orton treatment from the booking team. Even when he'd get stomped, he would always end on top with an RKO out of nowhere. It seems to me that shortly after the Shooting StaRKO he did to Bourne he just started RKO-ing everyone whether he won or not. He's been pushed and booked as a face yet brutally assaults his opponents, usually unprovoked. I hate that its gotten to the point with me that if Orton is in a match, I automatically assume he is going to win and more times than not, I'm right. Similar to the way I got sick of Cena but Orton isn't quite at that point yet.

The only reason why he's over is due to house shows, he actually then interacts with the fans.

But when it comes to RAW or SD, he's a face yet fails to acknowledge the crowd literally. The booking of him is just like Cena last year, this year Cena has actually lost a lot on Pay-Per-Views.
