I honestly didn't know that Scientology stuff was real after I seen that South Park episode making fun of it. I did a little research afterward and found out it was true. That just made it even more hilarious.

I'm not surprised, I thought it was bullshit when I first heard it.

I would react like the rest of society. We all would. We would likely assume inferiority and humble ourselves into submission. Mankind has frequently been faced by the challenge of being confronted by foreign people. At one point, it was the tribe on the other side of the river, then the tribe across the mountain range, then the society across the sea. Any civilization across space would be no different. However, those were other people--familiar to us, at least relatively. Humans assume superiority over other humans. However, as any sort of literature, art, or popular culture indicates, humans are scared of unknown beings. Aliens are always depicted as being more powerful and more intelligent. We would try to make peace; not in the name of peace, but in the name of fear. If the aliens had no interest in peace, but in domination, we would no longer humble ourselves. We would fight.

Probably be afraid of them at first but then make them listen to metal and then go to wild concerts and hang in the mosh pit.

I always thought if aliens were to come here it would probably be a War Of The Worlds type thing. Also my favorite alien themed movie... it just had a really tense and real vibe to the whole thing. Say what you want about him, but really great job by Tom Cruise.

But bottom line, if they can get to us and know about us they're obviously far more advanced than we are so if they are hostile I'd say for sure that we're pretty fucked.

It would result in a battle over resources. Some countries may try to make peace and share resources but others would attack them. With the lack of unity of the human race, the aliens would capitalize and win the war.

My curiousity would win and I would want to know about their life.
But I would also be paranoid.

Will Smith, Tom Cruise, and Mel Gibson. 'Nuff said.

Any of you seen that Twilight Zone episode, "The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street". I'm pretty sure it was one of those old radio shows too but it probably end up like that.

I would be pretty scared thats for sure, it'd be a huge event if aliens ever landed but I think I'd be waaaay too nervous to even talk to one if they knocked on my door step. It would be so fucking weird lol

Because it's a serious question. Humorous responses are allowed to a serious question, I don't mind. This isn't "The No Funny Zone". But admittedly I posted this here as opposed to elsewhere as I am having difficulty finding quality news articles worth talking about but still want to add as much activity to this section as possible.

This isn't "The No Funny Zone".

Judging by some of the awful attempts at humor in this thread, I would have guessed that it actually is the "No Funny Zone."

Axis, can you do a quick recap/imitation of all the bad humor in this thread, similar to what you did with the "If I were a wrestler..." thread, so I don't have to read it all. Thanks.
