So.....

As we all know, Brock has seemed to have lost his luster. He lost to Goldberg, his crowd reactions don't seem as big, and I would bet that his ticket sales and viewership isn't as high. Hell, maybe merchandise as well.

Why is this? Is it because of the obvious steroid use that came to light from the UFC? I think it's def part of it. I also think it's because of how his matches have been lately. Let's face it. His match with orton was garbage. It didn't have any element of shock or good spots. His match with dean felt the same way. It had potential, much like the orton match did, but then felt too fast and lame.

So what's the issue here? Why is Brock being seen as less of a monster now? I really feel the whole steroid thing made him loose his luster and credibility, and the fact that WWE is making terrible matches for him doesn't help either. I knew Brock's luster wouldn't last, but didn't expect it to fade this fast.

He went from having amazing fights in 2015 to complete garbage in 2016.

His lazy performance against Ambrose was his downfall. That match had a lot of hype and was pulling a lot of weight for that Mania card and it didn't deliver.

Because every time he shows up it is the same thing over and over. No one sans Triple H and now Goldberg were presented as actual threats to Brock. What is the intrigue in watching someone fight a monster if you know the monster is going to win? They tried with Roman but his issues with the crowds got in the way.

In short: His act got stale since WWE refuses to put any of its current crop of talent on a level were a match with Brock is of actual interest.

20 suplexes and the F5 gets boring after a while.

What a shocker. And I think WWE actually picked up on it for once. The whole getting busted for juicing thing can't be helping either.

It's just overexposure I guess, and like the others said the same thing again and again makes it hard to look forward to his matches.

His first Cena squash was awesome and had everyone talking about him, then the other squashes happened and it stayed exactly the same. The match dynamic didn't change, the rivalry dynamic didn't change (much) and the ending didn't change.

The Goldberg match was a surprise but the best bit about it was probably how short it was.

The only way Brock gets interesting is if he faces Goldberg/Braun/etc and the match actually seems like it can go either way, not suplex repeat.

Agreed. I would add that the whole unstoppable beast thing was a bit of a problem as well. When you have a guy simply plow through all of your top guys, it makes it that much more difficult to make his eventual defeat credible. It was like Vince McMahon had commented on why he had picked Lesnar to end the Undertaker's streak at WrestleMania. He said that it had been built up so much over the years that there was no one other than Lesnar that could believably do it. And I agree with him.

That is why I applauded the Goldberg thing. That Lesnar thing had to be broken up and I was fine with it being Goldberg doing it. I was more fine with it being a squash too. Now there is the opportunity to do something different with the guy. They probably won't, but the opportunity is there.

You can't expect people to think he is amazing every time he returns as does the same thing. I mean it doesn't help with the steroids and all that, or the huge loss he took from Goldberg but we all know he got paid out the butt to look like the weak man in that match. We all know he will be back though... I am assuming he will just show up in the rumble and throw Goldberg out and then get out himself and start fighting which I would love to see actually. lol

I agree with all the above. Idk, he had some awesome back and forth matches with taker in 2015, insomuch that their summslam match is one of my all time favs, and their HIAC match is considered to be one of the best ever. In addition, his match with reigns at mania was amazing.

He goes from that year to 2016 and he gets a shit match with Ambrose. A Shit match with Orton. Next he loses to Goldberg in 2 mins. He gets caught taking steroids. Such a huge turn. He still potential to run for a little longer I think, but I think he honestly killed himself off as well as the WWE made his matches worse.

After Lesnar dropped the title at WM 31, WWE didn't really know what to do with him.

The steroids and underwhelming matches with Ambrose and Orton didn't help, either.

And as Jacob stated above, I guess with Goldberg squashing him, they have a chance to hit a reset button and do something different.

I honestly think I've aired my opinions on Brock in all the other threads
I've posted in...(And yes...I'm calling him by his real name now) but I'm
going to be civil here.

My main issue is he is a part timer...and I personally hate the fact that
he gets special treatment over the other performers who are there
full time doing everything they can for the company and the fans.

His unwillingness to work with Dean Ambrose at Wrestlemania is a
huge sticking point with me. I mean its Wrestlemania...and while
Brock wasn't in the main event (although may-be he should have
been?) he should have at least worked with Ambrose to put on
a great match...but from what Dean said he had no interest or
desire to do anything.

His "move set" seems limited (he's not the only wrestler who suffers
from this problem), he lets Paul Heyman do most of his talking
for him...and well...and I'm just going to say it...his "character" is
boring.

"Brock Lesnar...former UFC Champion...The Beast Incarnate!!!"

"And what else?"

"Excuse me?"

"Well...what else? Can we get some insight into his current thoughts
about his fellow WWE performers? Does he want to win the Universal title?
Does he have any interest fighting anyone else on the current roster?
Does he feel Braun Strowman is a threat? What about Cesaro?
Brock...do you care to comment?"

"Well...you see Brock Lesnar is..."

"Shut the fuck up Paul...for once let the guy who gets paid 6 million
dollars a year do his own fucking promo!!! You can talk right Brock?
You remember how to do that right?"

And it just goes on from there...

Look...and this is the last time I comment on Brock because I'm frankly
sick of the guy...

The sooner the WWE ditches the "Part-Timers" and "Has-Beens"
and actually starts pushing their current full time talent...the better.

Although I have to admit...I loved the Goldberg squash at Survivor Series...

So good...Just so good...
